just that really, the root line looks strange but I’ve never had them before so I’m unsure?

They are poorly done.
Sorry OP

JustCakeInDrag · 02/12/2022 18:50

Sorry, no - they look like you’ve got six weeks of regrowth. Have you definitely got it parted in exactly the same place as it was when the hairdresser applied the colour?

Roselilly36 · 02/12/2022 18:52

No I wouldn’t be happy with that tbh

Simplelivingisharderthanitlooks · 02/12/2022 18:53

I've never looked at my highlights from that angle but surely they should be done to the root - My head always itches a lot when getting them done (I'm assuming because of this!)

Idontknowwhattodo4 · 02/12/2022 18:57

God I’m gutted, I’ve not been able to afford to have my hair done for about a year 😢 I wish I’d not bothered

@JustCakeInDrag yes I think so - this is where my parting always is

@ofwarren side note - love the username 😂

Terracottage · 02/12/2022 18:58

Those are bad highlights, too thick and not close enough to the root area. I'm sorry

rainbowandglitter · 02/12/2022 18:58

That's awful. Go back and ask them to fix it.

ofwarren · 02/12/2022 18:58

Could you go back and get them to touch up the roots?
They should do it for free if you are unhappy.

Longestnight · 02/12/2022 18:59

Oops not good and look very thick and yellowish sorry.

Idontknowwhattodo4 · 02/12/2022 19:01

I don’t know why they’re so thick! I asked for a few highlights to break up the colour 😩 I darent go back, the ladies there were absolutely lovely 😩 gahhh

ShirleyPhallus · 02/12/2022 19:03

I’m so sorry OP, I echo everyone, they look like the highlights of atomic kitten in 2003. Chunky and with regrowrh

Definitely go back, they need to be softened up

try a side parting in the meantime where they’ll probably look more natural?

123rd · 02/12/2022 19:03

I'm sure they won't mind if they are lovely. You have probably paid a lot of money for those. Go back and ask them To correct

Idontknowwhattodo4 · 02/12/2022 19:05

Thank you everyone for being kind about it 😩 I’ll be donning a hat for the foreseeable

@ShirleyPhallus this is to the side unfortunately 😢

OP posts:
carefulcalculator · 02/12/2022 19:08

Phone them if you daren't go in but you really, really should ask them to touch up the roots. You are entitled to ask for corrections, all they can do is say no.

Try a centre parting then! My 18 yr old niece tells me my side parting screams “millennial” 😆

PrettyMuchBollocks · 02/12/2022 19:14

Doesn’t matter how nice they are, they’ve fucked up your hair. Pop in, ask them to have a look, and when can they fit you in to put it right. You payed for a service, you didn’t get what you paid for. They need to put it right.

They would rather you went back and gave them a chance to correct it, than you never go back again as you didn’t like what they did. They want happy, returning clients, not people telling others to avoid them because they ruined your hair.

AuntieMarys · 02/12/2022 19:15

Oh shit they are chunky. Go back

Idontknowwhattodo4 · 02/12/2022 19:21

@ShirleyPhallus ha!! I always think I look like David beckham circa 00s with a middle parting 🤢

OP posts:
Idontknowwhattodo4 · 02/12/2022 19:22

@PrettyMuchBollocks I know, I really need to do it I think I’ll give them a ring tomorrow 😩

OP posts:
Suzi888 · 02/12/2022 19:24

Did you ask for highlights and then ‘painted’ parting? Or have you just had highlights? It’s easily fixed, it won’t take them long, please politely tell them you aren’t happy!

StickyCricket · 02/12/2022 19:25

Mine looked liked this after I’d “treated myself” to a visit to an Andrew Collinge hairdressers - I walked out with what looked like 4 weeks regrowth and thick striped hair. I wish I’d gone back and complained. I waited a couple of months and then sheepishly returned to my usual hairdresser.

chillinwithmygnomies · 02/12/2022 19:25

Can you email them or message on Facebook with a photo? I always find that doesn't seem as daunting as actually phoning.

DragonWasp · 02/12/2022 19:25

Surely them being nice makes it easier for you to go back. You don't need to complain in an arsey way you can just say politely that it's not right and ask them when they can fix it.

You can do it!
