just that really, the root line looks strange but I’ve never had them before so I’m unsure?

@Suzi888 this is just highlights ! The root is my natural colour 😩

They look fine to me 🤷🏼‍♀️ I thought hairdressers never take it right to the root in case your scalp gets burned. I think they might look less stripey once you’ve washed your hair.

Idontknowwhattodo4 · 02/12/2022 19:27

@DragonWasp I can do it!! I’m just a coward 😂 I’ll ring them tomorrow morning when I’ve had a sleepless night worrying about it 😂

Idontknowwhattodo4 · 02/12/2022 19:27

@MyView2 do you think?? I didn’t know if they were supposed to go to the root or not?

AriettyHomily · 02/12/2022 19:28

Sorry op they are really bad, they've not gone close enough to the root and they're 'tiger stripes'.

Eleusa · 02/12/2022 19:29

Go back and get the roots done plus a few lowlights through to break them up. They really should fix it.

Hopemax · 02/12/2022 19:30

20+ years hairdressing experience here - those are badly done highlights. They're too thick and too far from the root. Looks like a careless rush job.

It might be time to find a new hairdresser Confused

Georgyporky · 02/12/2022 19:42

They might be nice people, but they are incompetent hairdressers.
You really need to go back & insist they correct their mistakes.

gianfrancogorgonzola · 02/12/2022 19:43

Oh poor you. Very late nineties imo, go back and ask them to fix it.

RambamThankyouMam · 02/12/2022 19:51

From the thumbnail I thought it was the rib cage of a skeleton costume Blush

Yogipineapple123 · 02/12/2022 19:55

How much did they cost you OP? Did you get a full head or half head? They look badly done - perhaps you could request a refund and use the money to get them redone elsewhere. I recommend going to headmasters during the colour sale.

Oblomov22 · 02/12/2022 20:06

Please ring them. Irrespective of how nice they are, those are very poor.

Kenworthington · 02/12/2022 20:18

Oh dear yes sorry op those are not good. I do my daughters highlights (and I’m not even a hairdresser!) and they look better than that!

pluckie · 02/12/2022 20:19

Sorry op that's a bad job, give them a call or email them. What a shame for you.

Idontknowwhattodo4 · 02/12/2022 20:49

I had a full head and it was £90 😩

OP posts:
Idontknowwhattodo4 · 02/12/2022 20:49

@Kenworthington please sort me out 😂

OP posts:
Youcancallmeirrelevant · 02/12/2022 20:53

OP did you have a patch test before? If nott hat might be why they haven't gone right to the root. What exactly did you ask for? Theybdo look a bit thivk like she hasn't sectioned them off very well

Willowswood · 02/12/2022 20:54

Out of interest, was it an apprentice who did your hair? Or someone newly qualified?

I would bring it to the attention of the salon owner as soon as you can. That's a really bad job, and should not look like that. As others have said, it shouldn't be stripey and should go right up to the scalp, with no root showing.

I'm surprised the hairdresser didn't notice when blow drying your hair.

userxx · 02/12/2022 20:56

I always hate my hair when it's first coloured, a few washes later and I love it. There does appear to be a fair amount of root that hasn't been coloured. You must go back and tell them, im sure they'll sort it out for you.

Kenworthington · 02/12/2022 21:17

No problem @Idontknowwhattodo4 you’ll have to come to me though and no slagging me off on mn when I fail to fix it 🤣

Malifi50cent · 02/12/2022 21:20

Ex salon owner here. PLEASE contact them and explain you are unhappy and why. I still work in the industry and speak with dozens of salons each day - every hairdresser I've ever known would rather be given the opportunity to make it right. As a previous poster said, salons want happy, returning clients who recommend to family and friends. Give them the chance to fix it, they will be grateful and you will get your highlights sorted - win win x

Well that's ok for an all over tint, but no amount of washing will correct bleach that hasn't been placed where it should.

hartof · 02/12/2022 21:23

They may have been lovely but they clearly aren't doing a good job. You need to go back and request they put it right or refund you. I'd opt for a refund, then you can find someone who knows what they're doing

userxx · 02/12/2022 21:25

@Willowswood I'm talking about bleach, on me it softens with washing.
