Thread for anyone who has the Space NK 2022 advent calendar and would like to discuss contents.

In line with the other opening threads, suggest no earlier than 7am for discussing that day’s item(s).

Looking forward to tomorrow!

I was looking forward to the drunk elephant one as we’ve cracked heels in this house. Let’s see how much of a miracle it’s.

PacificState · 06/12/2022 08:52

The Drunk Elephant balm is very similar to Lanolips (which is one of my desert island products, but is not vegan I guess).

MyOtherCarIsAHearse · 06/12/2022 10:29

I’m happy to get both of these. I love a mask, and the DE is perfect for now, as my skin is really protesting then weather. Nice advent day!

EasterIssland · 06/12/2022 17:19

Just tried the mask. Not sure I like it much I couldn’t smell anything :s
the skin feels hydrated tho so I guess that’s what matters

Ooh - thanks for testing !

waves I’ve been lurking but not had a chance to join in yet. I usually dither about buying the more expensive calendars until they sell out, and end up with the trusty M&S one, so this year feels like a treat! Thoughts so far; the Paula’s Choice has gone into my stash - it’s one that I use periodically anyway so good to have on hand. The hand cream is a surprise, I usually don’t like fragrance-free products due to their smell (ironic) but I can’t detect any scent so a good one to use at work. The lipstick is actually a good colour for me, but what is with the smell? It reminds me of the lipsmackers chapstick of my youth!
I’ve just started the Summer Fridays, otherwise it would have gathered dust. I am a loyal C-tetra luxe user so this will have to be good to knock that out of my routine, we will see.
Never tried La Mer, and unlikely to ever purchase so will throw it in my overnight bag. Not sure if I’ll use the mask from today (at least not at this time of year) but am I intrigued by the DE butter.

Big thanks to OP for the daily summaries!

TheDuchessOfMN · 06/12/2022 19:31

I’ve used everything so far except for the mask. Really happy with everything.

EasterIssland · 07/12/2022 08:47

i didn’t have time this morning as I was running late for my train didn’t have time to open it.

I lost the train btw

Zoetrope1 · 07/12/2022 09:11

A little late this morning!

Day 7, Olaplex No.3 hair perfector, 100ml worth £28

Strengthen, repair and protect damaged locks with Olaplex No.3 Hair Perfector, a targeted hair treatment that helps to improve the look and feel of tresses that are distressed, damaged or compromised.

A treatment rather than a conditioner, this cream helps to restore hair structure and integrity, returning locks to a healthy appearance and texture. Combed through wet, damp or dry hair, it can be rinsed before shampooing and conditioning to give hair its best chance to shine. The treatment is a part of the Olaplex Bond Maintenance™ System, preparing dull and broken strands for further correction.

Olaplex No.3 Hair Perfector is free from parabens, phthalates and sulfates and is certified cruelty-free and vegan friendly. Working like a salon treatment, it contributed towards stronger, shinier and softer locks that are bound to turn heads.

Not terribly exciting but a staple for me and part of my rationalisation for getting this calendar! I have fine / damaged hair and use it a few times a week with the shampoo and conditioner and I definitely feel like it’s making a difference.

Never tried this product. At one point I was drowning in the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer as it seemed to crop up in every calendar/GWP and I never really noticed a discernible difference when using it although I'll admit I wasn't very consistent with it. I find it a bit of a faff having to pre-treat prior to usual shampooing and conditioning.

Will give this a go with and see how I get on. How many treatments do you think there are in that bottle for shoulder length average thickness hair? Is it enough to give it a fair try out do you think?

Zoetrope1 · 07/12/2022 09:23

I have fine hair but use a fair bit and one bottle lasts me 2-3 weeks. Let us know your thoughts once you’ve given it a go

Olaplex is totally useless on my hair, but at least I'm building up an enormous stash to give to a friend who loves it

CurlyFerret · 07/12/2022 09:53

I’m never sure about this - I normally pass on any hair products to my friend. My hair is very fine and coloured so maybe I should give it a try

MyOtherCarIsAHearse · 07/12/2022 14:49

I now have four of these but I do use it so I’m good for next year.

Something exciting for tomorrow please!

EasterIssland · 07/12/2022 17:02

One of the reasons why I joined :) I use it so it wasn’t wasted money

alasangne · 07/12/2022 17:55

If you aren't wanting the olaplex it sells really easily on ebay as long as you put it on for a bit less than RRP obviously

Zoetrope1 · 07/12/2022 18:58

@zucchinieggplant I actually received c tetra luxe in a goody bag recently but haven’t tried yet. Glad you recommend it!

@Zoetrope1 I love that powder. I shall get a spacenk one next year I think.

MyOtherCarIsAHearse · 08/12/2022 07:12

I’ve not used the powder but I love Hourglass so I’m looking forward to trying this.

Zoetrope1 · 08/12/2022 07:14

@alasangne great to know! It does have amazing reviews

It's really pricey so I only ever buy the travel size - lasts ages

bigdecisionstomake · 08/12/2022 07:32

I'm really happy to have this one. I've tried a few Hourglass bits recently (although not this powder) and none have disappointed so I'm hoping this will be a good one too.

Since menopause I have barely any eyebrows so have to pencil them in everyday and a good setting powder really helps them stay put!

EasterIssland · 08/12/2022 08:10

Not sure myself as I don’t use make up at all

MyCatsSlave · 08/12/2022 10:48

Very happy with the powder as I love Hourglass, but I can’t get into it. Can someone let me know what I’m doing wrong please 🙏
