Thread for anyone who has the Space NK 2022 advent calendar and would like to discuss contents.

In line with the other opening threads, suggest no earlier than 7am for discussing that day’s item(s).

Looking forward to tomorrow!

pillow talk is perfect for me! I love it. I think it is a pink/brown.
Feels very moisturising .

Jellywobblescobbles · 03/12/2022 19:38

It’s not flattering on me unless I use a pinkish lipliner and gloss.

EasterIssland · 04/12/2022 08:45

Anyone … what is it today? I opened it the other day as I was going on holidays and didn’t want to take it and had no clue

Day 4: Summer Fridays CC Me Serum, 30ml, £60

Nourish the complexion with the Summer Fridays CC Me Serum, a brightening serum packed with nutrients and two forms of vitamin C to help minimise the appearance of hyperpigmentation and dark spots while encouraging younger-looking, more radiant skin.

Blended with squalane to help deliver moisture and protect the complexion from the damaging effects of free radicals, the serum is also infused with a rich and soothing botanical cocktail, including clove, coffee and green tea extracts, while peptides help to restore a more youthful appearance.

Summer Fridays CC Me Serum is vegan friendly, cruelty-free and formulated without parabens. Apply a few drops to clean, dry skin and follow with a moisturiser and SPF.

Always happy to try a new vitamin c product!

Love today's product, this was one of the reasons I chose this calendar. I think I originally got it in a Caroline Hirons Kit and have repurchased it a couple of times.

TheDuchessOfMN · 04/12/2022 09:11

The serum is lovely. The sizes are far more generous than last year’s calendar too.

Zoetrope1 · 04/12/2022 09:12

@bigdecisionstomake great to hear! I haven’t used anything by summer Fridays before. Coincidentally received their jet lag mask in another calendar today!

I'd whack the pillow talk straight on ebay. It always sells.

ithoughtisawapuddycat · 04/12/2022 09:23

Happy with today's product. I also got a vitamin c product in the cult beauty calendar so I think I'm set for 2023 now!

PacificState · 04/12/2022 09:32

I'd forgotten this was in it but I think it was one of the reasons I went for this calendar - I finished a spendy Vit C serum just as the contents were announced so this was a draw. Have to use up my cheapo No 7 stand-in first though.

Have to say I'm liking this calendar so far (pillow talk shade is fine on me, if not spectacular)

rubyslippers · 04/12/2022 14:50

Really happy with today’s product
have used face theory vitamin c in the past so happy to try something new
my DD is the proud owner of the CT lipstick 😏

MyOtherCarIsAHearse · 04/12/2022 18:04

I love vit c so happy with this but I’ve just started using tret so I’m worried about using this. Maybe alternate?

Zoetrope1 · 04/12/2022 18:06

@MyOtherCarIsAHearse are you using tret in the evenings only? I use vit c in the morning and retinol at night and that works for me. But see how your skin reacts / is feeling! Vit c doesn’t irritate my skin at all but we’re all different

Yep, tret in evenings. Vit c has never been an issue for me. This one says evenings but I hardly think that matters. Thank you!

Day 5, La Mer Crème de La Mer, 7ml sample size worth £36.40 in this tiny size!

Rejuvenate the skin with the La Mer Crème de la Mer Moisturizing Cream, a soft and rich day cream that soothes and protects the skin daily.

Enriched with La Mer’s Miracle Broth™ and Lime Tea, this luxurious day cream nourishes and calms the skin instantly. When used everyday, the skin appears more uplifted, firmer and smoother with reduced fine lines and wrinkles.

Infused with nourishing oils, the moisturizing cream works for all skin types, even dry and dehydrated skin. When applying, warm up the cream between the fingers before pressing it into the skin. The texture absorbs into the skin quickly and effortlessly, and quickly works to target dry and problematic patches.

Happy to have it to try and it’s hard to get excited about such a tiny sample size, even one worth so much. I don’t generally buy into the hype of these super expensive, luxury face creams. But it’s a nice treat and one that I’ll enjoy!

Not happy with the size, especially in comparison to the box it came in. I think it was also in last year’s calendar. Glad that one is out of the way.

bigdecisionstomake · 05/12/2022 07:48

I quite like this cream (it seems to crop up a lot in advent calendars and GWP) but not enough to re-purchase at full price. I don't mind one or two of these small pots as they're good for weekends away - hopefully not too many in this year's advent calendar though!

@Zoetrope1 thanks for your helpful summaries each day - I didn't realise this one was meant to be pressed into the skin rather than rubbed in.

EasterIssland · 05/12/2022 08:06

I love it todays. As another pp this is going on my holiday bags. I use the 30ml since summer and it’s still 75% full id say so I expect this one to last for long.

Zoetrope1 · 05/12/2022 08:48

@EasterIssland no worries I enjoy documenting it! And also I know some people who don’t have the calendar enjoy these threads (I binge read a bunch of 2021 ones!) and it’s nice to see the products ☺️

Agree it’s a bit of a small size product today but happy to have something indulgent

Eirepopcorn · 05/12/2022 19:58

Thank you @Zoetrope1
Not sure what all the hype is with this cream and would certainly never purchase. Got one of these in last year’s calendar. To me it is just like Ponds cream that my granny used to use.
Hoping for something better

I’ve not tried this before (though I do have another pot of it sitting about from a previous gwp) and I agree, the texture is very like Ponds, or the blue tub Nivea. I’m quite enjoying using this as my skin is a bit sore at the moment but there’s no way I’d pay full price for it.

Day 6, two products!

Caudalie Vinergetic C+ instant detox mask, full size 75ml, £24

Tighten the look of pores and rid the skin of impurities with Caudalie Instant Detox Mask Vinergetic C+, a mask that helps to eliminate excess sebum and reduce the appearance of spots and blackheads.

Formulated with rose clay to help purify skin, this mask also contains caffeine to help reduce the look of puffiness and dark circles, working to leave the complexion fresh, clear and glowing. Suitable for all skin types, this vegan-friendly mask does not contain any fragrance, PEGs or silicones.

Caudalie Instant Detox Mask Vinergetic C+ can be applied up to twice a week. For best results, it should be applied to clean skin and left on for 5-10 minutes before rinsing off.

I received one of these in a goody bag. It’s not bad - it definitely feels like it removes excess sebum but I think unless you have oily skin, this would be a once in a while product. I think it would be good for when you feel really mucky, perhaps you’ve been out and about in a big, polluted city or your skin is just feeling particularly oily.

Drunk Elephant Wonderwild Miracle Butter, 5ml sample size, £2.75

Support the skin’s natural healing abilities with the Drunk Elephant Wonderwild Miracle Butter, a luxurious cream designed to help rescue and soothe dry, irritated, chapped, and compromised skin.

This nourishing skincare salve is suitable for use anywhere that requires some extra TLC, from wind-burned cheeks and chapped lips to dry elbows and cracked heels. It is formulated with a rich blend of restorative plant butters including marula, mango and cupuaçu to help shield the skin from environmental stressors.

Just a small amount of this vegan-friendly salve helps to soothe the skin. Enriched with a complex of plant oils, it delivers powerful antioxidants and fatty acids to help replenish lips and strengthen the skin’s barrier, restoring it to a healthy state.

I’m happy they paired a sample with a full size product today. Wish this was a little bigger but the Drunk Elephant packaging is so cute and this will be great for a weekend away. Excited to try this one, looks perfect for winter!

Happy with today.

Not sure the Caudalie mask is for me - I have quite dry skin so will probably gift that one on. I had one of their hydrating masks from (I think) one of the M&S summer beauty bags a couple of years ago and that was lovely so I do rate their products overall, this one's just not for me.

Am interested to try the Drunk Elephant product as that seems far more up my street, particularly at this time of year. It's not a brand I've ever purchased but the bits I've had from ACs and GWPs have always been surprisingly good.
