Any interest in a opening/review thread?

I tend to open early.
No photos until after 0700?

It's so lovely! I was a bit worried that all the shades would be too shimmery but there are a couple of matte ones in there. I can't wait to have a proper play with this!

pattyparsnip · 06/12/2022 07:13

This is a really lovely eyeshadow palette and it lasts ages . A wow product for meSmile

ecology1989 · 06/12/2022 07:32

I was so excited to open todays (I cheated an opened it on the 4th as I am away with work!) it’s gorgeous - I have been wearing it each day. Very very happy!

Chickydoo · 06/12/2022 07:46

Agree this is lovely. I don't wear eye shadow though, will pop in my daughter's Christmas stocking.

Peridot1 · 06/12/2022 07:48

Lovely product today but I’m not sure they are my colours really. I’m 58 and really don’t wear lots of eyeshadow anymore.

Stoic123 · 06/12/2022 07:54

I think it's a nice palette but not sure will wear much. Didn't end up using last year's one. Will give it a go this week.

Lookingformymarbles · 06/12/2022 08:44

Definitely a big ticket item but not my colours sadly, will regift to ds gf or niece

I wouldn’t use them together, no. What form is the vit c - serum, cream, etc? Could you use it during the day instead of at night? If not then alternate nights maybe.

I opened my calendar early and have been using the serum for a week or so. I haven’t used retinol before. How much should I use and do you use if very night? Do you out night cream over it?

RosettaStormer · 06/12/2022 08:57

Most shower gels make my skin itchy or dry so I stick to olive oil soap now. I hope the MB will be okay. I wish I’d got the Bobby Brown product instead.

Nuffaluff · 06/12/2022 09:20

Love the colours in this eye palette. Perfect timing for a staff Christmas party later on this week! I’ve never had Charlotte Tilbury before.

Mrcpy · 06/12/2022 09:21

The eye palette is gorgeous. I actually opened it a couple of days early to use for a Christmas party. I don’t normally use eyeshadow and really enjoyed it.

MyOtherCarIsAHearse · 06/12/2022 10:28

Gorgeous palette. Eye products are my thing so I’m going to wear this to work tomorrow. Very happy!

You will get the BB blusher later in the month. Everyone will get both products - there's just been a mistake in which numbers they go in.

Dailymash · 06/12/2022 11:15

Really happy with todays eye palette, this is in my top three items I was waiting for! We’re out during the week for DH birthday so I’ll try it out then.

@Lookingformymarbles and @Chickydoo what a lovely thing to regift ❤️

This is worth £43 which takes our total to £142.

BeverleyMacca1 · 06/12/2022 12:01

I loved the night serum earlier in the week and decided to skip the exfoilator after advice here. I use Dior, Chanel and Tom Ford eyeshadow, which, for me, pee all over this CT one. I don’t find it very pleasurable to use, the pop colour’s pigmentation is pants. I’ve wondered about CT products so now I know, I suppose! Love the orange and bergamot shower gel, going to buy a full size of those. I love the Bobbi Brown pots, I already use the pale pink colour so looking forward to trying another.

Housewife2010 · 06/12/2022 12:10

The Charlotte Tilbury pop shades aren't designed to have much pigmentation. They are toppers which are best applied with a finger to add a touch of sparkle. This palette has one pop shade.

Giftwithpurchase · 06/12/2022 12:55

Very happy with todays! I don't tend to wear darker shadow over the lid anymore but instead use them as a liner smudged out. I find a softer look works for me now I've stopped wearing waterline eyeliner too. I think the shimmer shades in here will be perfect for a bit of a festive liner look. Funny how much I now prefer warm colour palettes - I've been trying to use up an old cool urban decay palette and just don't like it nearly as much!

Yes, I know! But I’m used to toppers actually popping. This doesn’t.

SheSawSeaShore · 06/12/2022 15:05

I’m really enjoying the calendar so far. This is the first time I’ve had the John Lewis one. I love the Bobbi brown cheek colour, it’s not a shade I’d have chosen but I’m very pleased with it. Also loving the eyeshadow, I’ve used it today and it’s lasting well and I found it easy to use. I like the fact it’s just the 4 shades so not too overwhelming.

I’m a bit confused by the skincare and which items you can use together (and I think I’ll be getting more confused as I open more doors!) so thank you everyone for the advice on here, it’s really helpful.

Can someone link to the general
advent calendar thread mentioned above? You can never have too many beauty advent threads 😆

Itsabeautifuldaytosavelives123 · 06/12/2022 16:28

I'm liking today's palette as I already have two different CT eyeshadow palettes, nice to try a new one even if I won't use often.

Peridot1 · 06/12/2022 16:41

@SheSawSeaShore here you go!

Stoic123 · 07/12/2022 07:47

Elemis Pro-collagen Essence- not tried before.

Not the sort of thing I'm likely to buy without trying first so I like getting in calendars or beauty boxes,

Roundaboot · 07/12/2022 07:48

I'm confused by today's! Do you use it under moisturiser or instead of? As well as or in place of serum? My current day routine is hyaluronic serum + day cream + SPF if I'm actually leaving the house...is this an extra step?

I do like the look of it, my skin could definitely do with some extra moisture just now.

Stoic123 · 07/12/2022 07:53

@Roundaboot - the main ingredient is HA so imagine would replace HA serum or go before that step in your routine.

Peridot1 · 07/12/2022 07:55

I love an essence so happy with today. And like the Pro-Collagen range.

@Roundaboot - it’s an extra step. A layer of hydration. So you would use after cleansing and before any serum and/or moisturiser. Pour a little into the palm of your hand and pat it gently into the skin. There is a thing called the 7 Skins method which originated in Korea which is patting up to seven layers of an essence into the skin. I’ve never done seven but I frequently do 2 or 3. Especially this time of year as my skin gets really dry and I find lots of layers of light hydration best.
