As in previous years, this is a thread for all those opening beauty advent calendars not covered by specific threads, though happy for any to be posted here too. We’d also love to hear about other non-beauty calendars.

Only one ask please, do not disclose contents of calendars before 7am on the relevant day.

I’ll be opening the Liberty and Fortnum and Mason calendars. Possibly also Latest in Beauty, assuming it arrives on time.

Only two sleeps to go - looking forward to it!

HN day 1 has a Fenty lip gloss thing and a voucher for a makeup lesson. Going to go to town and book it in today!

The lip gloss has a strong sweet smell but it's a pretty colour.

Somewhat late start for me today, after a work dinner last night which ended later than expeceted, and was followed by messed up trains. Got home very late.

F&M today is a Delilah mascara, full size. Not one I’ve tried before, so a decent start

Good start on Liberty too: Venn all-in-one concentrate which I’ve used before and like, and a full size SR eye cream. I thought at first the eye cream wasn’t full size, because it didn’t come in the stupid bottles that make it look much bigger, but it is 15ml - far prefer the plain tube packaging.

@Growlybear83 very envious of your Jo Loves calendar. I thought it was absolutely beautiful (and lovely contents). Kept hoping it would reduce in price.

@loz12345 Sephora start is excellent. I’m using a smaller size of that Pai cleanser at the moment, and so like it.

@TinfoilTwat welcome, enjoy your calendar. We are very spoilt in the U.K. with the wide number we have available

@SoloCat that Valmont does look lovely.

@CeeCeeDeeBee it always helps if the lipstick is a good colour - sadly on these calendars in the past that has been miss than hit for me.

Hi all. Day 1 of Next and I got a Mac lipstick in twig

Mavisisnotmyname · 01/12/2022 10:02

Hello everyone, I've got the Debenhams calendar for the first time. Today's is a Blossom &Blossom bath oil, which smells fab but as I can't get in and out the bath anymore (ancient) will have to be a foot soak instead!

Hi everyone, I got an almond shower oil in my L'occitane calendar today. It's one of my faves, it smells divine. This is my first ever beauty advent calendar, very exciting. Great start :)

FredaFox · 01/12/2022 10:17

Same here on all counts! Mine was a birthday present from my brother, whose present giving and wrapping style has changed somewhat since he met his soon to be wife 😂 love her! This is such a nice thread Smile

Day 1 of my homemade calendar and I have UK Lash eyelash serum which I'm very happy about! I started using the Ordinary one as an experiment because it's so much cheaper, but in three months it's made no noticeable difference so I might just bin it and crack on with this today 😀

Day 1 of No7...gorgeous sparkly lipstick

Pinenu · 01/12/2022 11:14

Sephora is looking best so far.

I have H&B which has already been revealed - very happy with it.

Body Shop is a Shea butter mini hand cream which I’m also happy with. Great for my work bag.

Dogscanteatonions · 01/12/2022 11:24

I've got the Glossybox one and I'm super pleased with the iconic London contour duo. Colour is perfect on me and it's worth £25.

Just to add if you have a sparks card there is an advent calendar on the app, you get gifts you can collect in store. Today I got a full size hand cream

@Dogscanteatonions , thanks for the M&S tip; I’ve qualified for a free hand cream from The Fragrance Society too. That’s one teacher gift down!

Wow, thanks for the tip!

My selfridges arrived and I opened number one straight away. Omg very dark shade of MAC lipstick. I would never use it. I have to think if I can gift it to someone.

InfinityOrUndefined · 01/12/2022 13:01

Oh opened my last year's Bodyshop ultimate and got 250ml of rose shower gel. That's useful.

M&S have a REN dark circle eye cream....I need it big time this morning.
Is there a separate M&S thread? Can't seem to find one.

It’s here www.mumsnet.com/talk/style_and_beauty/4688958-marks-and-spencer-advent-calender?reply=121943292&utm_source=sendinblue&utm_campaign=Mumsnet_Watched_Thread_Notification_New_Talk&utm_medium=email

CountryCob · 01/12/2022 14:04

I have the Debenhams bath oil which is very nice - good scent/ size and pretty. Latest in Beauty is a full sized moisturiser - going to be very stocked up! Degusta box is chocolates….

AnnieSnap · 01/12/2022 14:23

NUXE Calendar day one is a bottle of their lovely dry oil (florale).

Not going to keep the REN eye cream I got for Day 1 of M&S. Will give to my Mum I think.

It’s a generous size for an eye cream, but I don’t use them (never found one that had any visible benefit) and having tried a tiny dab this morning I found it really greasy and unpleasant.

CrepuscularCritter · 01/12/2022 14:38

More REN eye cream from M&S here, and a decent smelling body lotion from Cath Kidston. I bought the heavily discounted CK advent as it has lots of hand creams, which I desperately need as my hand is in a (removable) cast.

afaloren · 01/12/2022 14:51

Loving my Sunday Riley serum from Cult Beauty!

KimmySchmitt · 01/12/2022 15:06

15ml AB The Cream in Flannels today (yawn!) and 50ml Shiseido smoothing day cream in LiB. Much more impressed with LiB but at least it gets a Flannels Drawer of Disappointment out the way for me.

Really enjoying seeing all the different contents! Sephora sounds amazing, and I'd love to hear what people are getting in the really fancy calendars (Jo Loves, Diptyque level)

LookdeepintotheAdvent · 01/12/2022 15:23

I've just bought a Nuxe gift set on offer (for myself 😆) with the florale oil in it @AnnieSnap its gorgeous!

Prinnny · 01/12/2022 15:31

I’ve got the ASOS beauty one, today was a dull size MAC velvet teddy lipstick so good start 😊
