Does a nightdress exist...

...that:

• is not frumpy (no twee sprigs of flowers, high neckline)
• is not silky with itchy lace
• does not have stupid slogans on it!

If so, I haven't found it yet! Would love one with short sleeves/no sleeves but stlish and comfy. Any recommendations?

Lands End, pure cotton jersey in plain colours. You can get short sleeves, long sleeves, no sleeves and a choice of lengths. I've got a calf length navy blue one and a knee length red one.

I was going to say Lands End too. I've got a few of their short sleeved above the knee ones for summer - tbh could wear them in the daytime, they're not 'night dressy'. And their PJs for winter, but look for sales and promotion codes, they're rather expensive otherwise.

Cyberjammies

It's hard isn't it. My own personal wish list is:

• cotton
• below the knee
• not grey, pale pink or baby blue
• not twee. I don't think it's too much to ask!

@DisplayPurposesOnly , lands end mid calf (long or short sleeves) have lots of colours inc navy and burgundy, also some non-twee prints. Some of them are sale price so I don't know if there's limited size availability

Thanks! I like the M & S one. Land's End is a possibility but I sort of wanted it a bit more elegant without looking ridiculous or being uncomfortable! I like this one but I didn't want spaghetti straps. But maybe French lingerie is the way forward!

I have some Lands End ones, 'sleep tees' which are plain, scoop neck, long or short sleeve, but I find them a bit hot as the fabric is thick. The best nightdresses I have are ones I make myself from woven cotton. If you don't sew you could find a local dressmaker?

I just bought the nicest one which sounds like it's what you are after.

My search was also pretty but not shoe string straps as everything has usually fallen out in the morning. And comfort. Gosh these are just so comfy.

I was going to say Lands End too. I have four in different lengths and different sleeve lengths. The cotton is so soft and they have different designs, I've got three that are navy and cream striped because I don't like twee patterns either.

That's my go to thing to sleep in but usually cannot find any for love nor money. Sometimes get lucky at TKMaxx but currently bought over size cheap Tshirt's and sleep in those!

I don't know, but I wish I could find cotton pyjamas without Christmas trees or cartoon animals on them.
