Such an interesting bracelet too (next to the ?Rolex)

Cartier tank. Diana had one too, that William swapped with Harry for THE RING. Kate wears a Cartier too but the bleu de ballon.

I love watches!

iknowimcoming · 02/12/2022 00:26

Love that bracelet too!

Sorry Sophie, I think you're awesome, but that dress - oh dear! I know next to nothing about style and fashion but I am a similar shape to Sophie and we should never wear high necks or tie waists I'm afraid! Agree its nice to see her at a high profile event though, albeit probably because the Wales' are in the US

KillingMeDeftly · 02/12/2022 00:43

Oh Sophie no. And bra intervention, stat!

hopeishere · 02/12/2022 06:47

High neck, waist tie and pleats over the boobs are a no from me!

I have a Cartier tank watch!! Am glad I'm in such esteemed company!

Serenster · 02/12/2022 06:51

I’d love a Cartier tank watch. 😍

I also love Kate’s chicly bundled up look for a very chilly engagement on Boston’s waterfront. A beautifully tailored coat with matching scarf and boots, then a flash of a bright orange knit dress at neck and hem, and as she walked. Aspirational winter dressing for me!

I've seen more photos of Sophie and she looks lovely. The dress looks better in some of them. Her hair and make up are lovely and she does have super earrings on. I wonder if they were a gift from the Queen.

gluenotsoup · 02/12/2022 08:37

I agree that the dress looks better in other photos, and her hair looked lovely from the side. She does need a better bra pronto. Also, you could see the nude straps under the fine fabric, a strapless one would have looked better. Maybe a slighter wider, more structured belt would have been more flattering instead of the fabric tie belt which isn’t doing anything.

gluenotsoup · 02/12/2022 08:48

I love Kate’s brown coat there, and the boots.

LadyEloise1 · 02/12/2022 09:00

I salute Kate for her ability to
walk in such high boots. The soles of my feet would be burning off me.
Leti and Meghan too can wear very high heels on Royal duties. 😮

Not a good look on Sophie.
Her fashion style can be very hit and miss.

KillingMeDeftly · 02/12/2022 09:09

I don't know about that brown outfit, she looks a bit like a very coordinated poo emoji 💩

KillingMeDeftly · 02/12/2022 09:12

There's nothing really wrong with Sophie's dress in itself but it would've been better with a more supportive bra (the royals prob shouldn't have ditched Rigby & Peller!) or shapewear underneath, and a different belt.

MotherofPearl · 02/12/2022 09:45

Oh Killing 😂 Poor Kate!

TangledWebofMincemeatDeception · 02/12/2022 10:47

I don’t think it looked poo emoji at all; that would require a certain style of hat, in my book... I agree it’s a great outfit. I’d definitely wear it.

I love a suit and I love a pussy bow. Don’t like those two together. Especially not on Kate - she already looks very classic/too mature for her age sometimes and it comes across so extremely prim. The colour of the blouse was all wrong too. Loved the bag (of course!), hated the shoes (of course!). I wish she had just a little bit of instinctive fashion flair. BUT it’s a very small and unimportant flaw, if one can call it that, in the grand scheme of things.

As pp said, why on earth didn’t she wear trainers to the game?? Looks ridiculous sitting there in vertiginous heels (and I love heels!). If she didn’t want to wear trainers she could easily have worn chunky, funky brogues/loafers/mules. Anything but the dreaded stilettos.

Poor Sophie. Lovely dress but just doesn’t do her justice.

Meghan’s dress was a lovely colour and suited her well.

Max is fab, as always. Love the bling.

AdaColeman · 02/12/2022 11:37

I like Kate's brown and burnt orange ensemble. The coat reminds me of one I had years ago, though mine had fur at the hem and cuffs. Oh, how I loved that coat!
The burnt orange dress would really suit Kate's colouring.

Eaumyword · 02/12/2022 11:47

Love Kate's brown/burnt orange outfit. I think she looks gorgeous. Beautiful skin, hair&makeup too. She just looks so polished.

SenecaFallsRedux · 02/12/2022 13:56

I don't usually like brown or orange, but Kate looks great in that ensemble. Perfect for a New England winter outing.

In other fashion news (not royal but as close as we come in the US), there was a state dinner at the White House last night, the first for the Bidens (because covid, etc). Dr. Jill and Mme Macron looking very elegant (as well as their president husbands). Jill is wearing Oscar de la Renta, reviving a long tradition of Oscar, and now his sucessors, dressing First Ladies. I really like the neckline of Jill's dress. The cut-outs are a flower motif, and in movement under lights, the dress has a bit of sparkle.

Very elegant @SenecaFallsRedux they do look glamorous

I agree that Dr Jill looks very elegant here, but I'm less keen on Mme Macron's dress. I don't think that high neck suits her.

gingercat02 · 02/12/2022 15:39

I said to DH that Madame Macron came out in her nighty. Dr Biden looks lovely.
I'm wondering what has happened to me because I love that Brown coat and would like to see the dress in full. They are so my colours as a ginger haired Autumn

The Twitter link I posted said that Mette Marit had the same midi version as well as Kate

gluenotsoup · 02/12/2022 16:05

I much prefer the midi version. Looking at it again, I wonder if the dress was too big for Sophie as well? There’s a lot of fabric there.

AdaColeman · 02/12/2022 16:52

Jill Biden looks super stylish in her black Oscar de la Renta. I'm not usually a fan of off the shoulder styles, but she carries it off well, no doubt helped by the perfect fit of the gown and its structure. The fabric is lovely.
Brigitte is wearing Louis Vuitton, I don't often like her fashion choices, but this works well for the occasion, even though it's a bit Blake's Seven with the spiky decoration around the collar, overall it's an elegant look.

KillingMeDeftly · 02/12/2022 17:07

Slightly unusual choice for Kate today. I can't decide whether I like it or not but I do like her handbag.

lipstickwoman · 02/12/2022 17:12

I quite like the dress but I'd have reused the burgundy shoes and bag with it
