Mascara holy grail

I might be asking for too much, please tell me if what I want doesn't exist!
From a mascara I want volume and length, no smudging or panda eyes.
I've tried so many at various price points

Charlotte Tilbury pillow talk -look like kung fu panda within minutes of application and an odd brush that's finicky to get used to.
YSL volume effet faux cils , smudgy went claggy very quickly
Lancome Idole just not great, also smudgy
Glossier lash slick, not dramatic though, I already have quite long lashes and could barely tell any difference with this on
L'Oréal volume million lashes both smudgy and flaky
Too faced better than sex - mascara every wear, too clumpy , smudged terribly
Maybelline lash sensational too wet/smudgy

Ugh 3 year old dived on me and posted too soon.
Anyway the above and more have been tried and discarded.
Most mascaras just seem to end up all over my face. Tubing don't give me the volume I want.
I've also tried a Clinique one recommended here (can't remember the name) but it made my lashes really stiff and was hard to get off, I wasn't overly impressed with the look either.
Benefit bad gal removed me if the spiky clumpy look favoured by younger teen cousins when I read in my twenties.

What do I need?

Lancome hypnose or bourjois volume glamour.

Try Max Factor Masterpiece (I use waterproof but both are good).

Builds very well, just two light coats. Out-performs my Chanel, which I remember being so much better. I also bought some Lancome Mr Big after watching Julia Ormond's Get Ready With Me video (what a sucker I am....), but have yet to open it, the MF does a great job anyway and I have a few in reserve.

Ok it’s expensive but Chantcallie longest lash is amazing. Lasts ages and does make your eyelashes grow loads. Doesn’t smudge. A tube last ages. It’s the only one I buy now. Usually when on sale. It’s a good all round mascara as well. They do a cheaper version that doesn’t have the lash growth, but I haven’t tried that.

I would say though, I found my mascara smudged under my eyes because i used a cram concealer and didn’t set it. I use a tiny amount of Laura Mercier powder and less concealer. Then use a beauty blender on the area. Stops it the concealer settling into fine lines. And helps smudging.

Have you tried No7 Stay Perfect Ultra Mascara? It’s the only mascara I have ever had that does not smudge at all. It builds up well. It’s not the most volumous mascara ever but pretty good and worth it for the not smudging. Also it’s less than £15.

Diorshow mascaras pretty good too.

Maybelline sky high, awesome always go back to this mascara, great price point too.

Maybe you need to give your eyelashes a curl and try again? I find when mine go straight I have an awful mascara mess every time

If you're smudging use waterproof mascara and then a good cleanser eg Clinique take the day off or Bobbi brown oil cleanser to get it off easily

I've never found the HG mascara though and I don't think it exists

Estée Lauder Sumptuous Extreme gives the best big black lashes. It is wet and therefore seems to dry out relatively quickly, for the cost it's an indulgence - but it'll do what you want!

I quite like the L'Oréal Lash Paradise but i find it can give quite a clumpy look if you use too much.

Ilia limitless lash is fab. It's not cheap but it really lovely. Not clumpy at all, stays on the whole day and gives me a lot of length. I love it.

What are you using to cleanse your eyes with? It sounds like there's an oily residue on your eyelids and eyelashes .
And invest in an eyelash comb too (I have a metal one that folds to protect the prongs )

I've recently bought the Tarte Tubing mascara but not tried it yet
Currently using Eyeko Lash Alert in the Coco Brown and the purple shades which are good

Another vote for Lancôme hypnose. Estée Lauder double wear doesn’t smudge and you don’t need harsh scrubbing to take it off. It doesn’t thicken lashes as well as hypnose though, that stuff is the best. Lancôme doll eyes as well if you have long lashes and want to notice it on?

Nars Climax mascara didn't even budge after a big weep (had some bad news)
I don't think it's a tubing mascara but it does take double cleansing to fully remove it or she'd loads of micellar water.

Beauty Pie Waterproof is my latest favourite, it's excellent and NYX Worth the Hype Waterproof is good for every day too. Neither budge and both hold a curl in your lashes.

I've tried most that you have op and am on the same quest!

Clarins supra volume (although the new formula not as good as original so I’ve given up buying it so much ) or Boots collection lash surge, best mascara I’ve tried. No messing about with stupid wands. Bog standard mascara that coats and stays put. You can get a waterproof version.

I tried everything then found Dior Pump and Volume.
My phone even knows what words come next after I type Dior.
HG. Nothing like it. Second place goes to Monsieur Big.

Lancôme Hypnose is amazing. Makes my eyelashes look twice the Size and stays all day.
