Mascara holy grail

I might be asking for too much, please tell me if what I want doesn't exist!
From a mascara I want volume and length, no smudging or panda eyes.
I've tried so many at various price points

Charlotte Tilbury pillow talk -look like kung fu panda within minutes of application and an odd brush that's finicky to get used to.
YSL volume effet faux cils , smudgy went claggy very quickly
Lancome Idole just not great, also smudgy
Glossier lash slick, not dramatic though, I already have quite long lashes and could barely tell any difference with this on
L'Oréal volume million lashes both smudgy and flaky
Too faced better than sex - mascara every wear, too clumpy , smudged terribly
Maybelline lash sensational too wet/smudgy

Benefit They're Real! mascara is fantastic. It doesn't smudge and gives amazing volume; I've had so many compliments. It's the most I've ever spent on a mascara, but totally worth it.

Although, I did find it difficult to remove, I discovered coconut oil just melts it away.

PeloFondo · 06/11/2022 19:52

I really like tarte maneater
But I make sure to powder under my eye or any mascara smudges on me, and also use rapid lash for extra lash length

RewildingAmbridge · 06/11/2022 20:07

I've only been gone a couple of hours! Now I'm spoilt for choice
Definitely going to try powder under the eye too.

not sure what age you are but only use a tiny bit of powder if you have fine lines or your under eyes are quite dry.

I use eye cream about 20 mins before I do it as well to smooth it all out a bit.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 06/11/2022 20:14

I have used Maybelline Great Lash since I was a teenager when my Dad used to bring it back from US business trips for me. It is the best mascara and that is a hill I will die on

STARKAT8794 · 06/11/2022 20:33

I'm looking for a good matte lipstick that is hydration and not crumbly like Stila. I want a lipstick that stains my lips as it wears off. So not left with a lip ring or dry lips! I found one 2 years ago in Manchester on a day trip but forgot what brand it was. I think it might be Revolution, unsure.
The best liquid lipstick I've found in 2022 is the Wet n Wilds "Catsuit" in DEVIANT colour. Its smooth, hydrating on my dry sensitive Afro skin and doesn't sink in my age lines! This budget brand Wet n Wild is better than more expensive ones like Stila matte liquid, which was all dry and crumbly. I prefer budget ones under £6 due to cost of living increases etc. Forget NARS, Armani, February etc. Any tips? Uk 🇬🇧

Maybelline sky high, awesome always go back to this mascara, great price point too.

I agree with this. Mascara always smudges on me. Tried everything, but this is brilliant. I'm on my fourth tube.

Comedycook · 06/11/2022 20:55

Primark mascara false lash queen....it's the one which comes in a pinky/purply box. It gives so much volume. I absolutely love it and couldn't believe it was so good for the money.

Dox9 · 06/11/2022 20:58

Try essence lash princess (black and green). Don't judge by the price! I have tried lots of high end mascaras and really like this one. There's only a short window of few weeks between it being too wet when freshly opened and drying out but it's so cheap it doesn't bother me.

STARKAT8794 · 06/11/2022 21:02

Ebay has a really good Korean mascara that comes in a mascara and eyeliner set for around £4, in a pink leopard print box. It's cheap, smooth and really black which is a real bargain! It can be smudgy, but the eyeliner is inky black, hydrating and better than High St £5-9 ones! Looks good on my sensitive Afro skin. I'm fed up of paying £5-9 for a mascara that dries up in 2 weeks! I'm after a thick voluminous mascara under £6. Any tips?

MaryQueenOfSwots · 06/11/2022 21:03

Maybelline Great Lash - in the pink and green tube. Not massively volumising but doesn’t flake or smudge. I always go back
to this.

Rainingoutthere · 06/11/2022 21:10

Try a tubing mascara like maybelline sky high

I was plagued by panda eyes!

Tubing coats the lash in a polymer. So it doesn’t smudge off.

Also look at your sunscreen. As they can promote the mascara transferring. Look for a matte sunscreen

Shitfather · 06/11/2022 21:20

Another vote for Dior Pump and Volume. I bought it at duty free whilst searching for the HG of mascaras. I’m on my second tube.
Agree re YSL faux Cils - what an utter waste of money. The worst mascara ever.

Puffalicious · 06/11/2022 21:20

For me it's Lancome Definicils. I have quite long lashes anyway, but this lengthens and separates without that thick, volume look I hate. I've gone back to this time and again for 20 years.

I'm NOT an Avon buyer, but my niece started being a rep for pocket money. This is phenomenal. It is tiny, but packs a punch. It stays so well, but no rings/ patches, it just seems to wear off eventually. There is a lip stain one, but my sister said she couldn't actually get it off 🤣🙈.

100% agree with this!
This budget eye make up remover also removes it really easily www.boots.com/garnier-2in1-eye-make-up-remover-125ml-10169114

PeloFondo · 06/11/2022 21:39

Yes definitely just a tiny bit of powder! I only use enough to make it feel smooth rather than sticky/glowy/damp as that's when my mascara smudges

SaltyLemons · 06/11/2022 21:42

Lancôme Hypnose (standard) is the best mascara in the world. Have been through hundreds, always return to this and will never stray again. I get lots of people asking which mascara i use so must be a good sign too!

User3936493947 · 06/11/2022 21:55

If you liked the effect of Maybelline Lash Sensational try Max Factor False Lash Effect. I went in the other direction (MF to Maybelline) because I find the MF too dry but if you think the Maybelline is too wet you might like the Max Factor.

I’m surprisingly impressed by elf waterproof in the green blue tube. Great volume, no smushing. £7.

RudsyFarmer · 06/11/2022 22:07

*smudging 🙄

RudsyFarmer · 06/11/2022 22:08

Astral is also excellent at removing waterproof mascara.

Jammydodgerr · 06/11/2022 22:11

Using a lash primer makes mascara look so much better.
I use benefit they're team with a primer

RewildingAmbridge · 02/12/2022 12:15

Ok so I've been using No7 ultra stay perfect with primer underneath and it's actually pretty good for day to day (got a boots voucher for £10 off) it's not massively dramatic but it doesn't budge at all, but removes easily, I've used Neal's yard rose balm. Even with heavy rain or tears (funeral) I had no panda eyes which is a huge success. This will be my go to for work/day to day now I think.
Lancome hypnose is on my Christmas list!
