Snag tights

Has anybody got any and are they any good?
Do they last and not get holes or ladders easily?

I tend to wear cotton high waist leggings instead of tights because normal tights are always too tight in the waist (despite my not being large) and uncomfortable - give me either stomach ache or back ache or both wearing them all day. I also tend to find them unbearably itchy and they don't stay up well.

Ideally I'd rather wear tights than leggings because it avoids the need for socks, leggings get baggy knees, and look less nice with a dress or skirt.

I'm also drawn to the lovely bright colours of snag.

If you've found this page in search of tights that have been tried and tested by fellow Mumsnet users, you might find our guide to the best tights useful. Hope this helps! MNHQ

They're amazing. They fit, don't fall down, don't ladder and wash well. I also now have the snag knickers and leggings. Amazing!!

Hooverphobe · 21/10/2022 15:12

Yes they’re bloody brilliant. Someone will be along any minute to tell you I’m a shill! 😂

I’ve been buying them for years - but I gather there are other good companies in the market now.

AmberGer · 21/10/2022 15:14

I wear them everyday and have done for and around 2 years.
I'm not teeny tiny either. They're the most comfortable tights I've ever worn and no holes or ladders so far. I've got loads of pairs in so many colours. Love them!

CableTidy · 21/10/2022 15:14

I love them and I previously HATED wearing tights for much the same reasons as you

BeyondsEnergyObsession · 21/10/2022 15:15

They're brilliant. Come right up under your boobs like maternity tights and don't slip. As yet both I and DW (touch wood) are yet to have a single ladder!

PanicAtTheBigTesco · 21/10/2022 15:16

They get nothing but praise on here but I bought 2 pairs and thought they were crap.

One pair snagged the first time I wore them, and both were bobbly around the ankles after a few washes. They also only lasted about a month before they started falling down.

Comfort wise they were revolutionary so I decided to try again and ordered another 2 sizes, nope still crap and one pair were already snagged when they arrived. Customer service were useless when I tried to sort it.

Avidreader69 · 21/10/2022 15:16

They're great - make sure you order the correct size for your height. No ladders or holes in mine and I've had them almost a year.

dizzydizzydizzy · 21/10/2022 15:17

Speaking as a hater of tights, I love them.

RamsayBoltonsConscience · 21/10/2022 15:19

I have been wearing them since 2019 and don't buy any other brand of tights anymore. I've just bought the knickers and they are fab too. If you want to try them out but don't want to pay the brand new price, there is a group on FB that sells second hand snags. Many of them are brand new, still in packets but often smaller sizes don't come up. They are called fans of Snag - Buy/ swap/ Sell

BlueChampagne · 21/10/2022 15:22

Any good for the tall and skinny? Both the tights and the leggings?

Nothingbuttheglory · 21/10/2022 15:22

They have a seam up the middle of the tummy which goes lumpy after it's been washed, is clearly visible under my dresses and annoys my stomach. I always look for seamfree tights.

Aethelfleda · 21/10/2022 15:23

they are AMAZING.
My girls use them for school tights, and they are very good quality and last many multiple washes.
I like them because I’m tall and they genuinely stretch. Their size range js brilliant too.

WaggledMyAerialAndWolfedMyCustardCreams · 21/10/2022 15:26

I like the tights but their joggers are a disappointment - so long on me (admittedly I’m short in the leg) that the surplus fabric hangs down over the cuff.

mumof2andstillsurviving · 21/10/2022 15:32

They are amazing. They fit. They don't roll down, they wash well and they last. Do it. You won't regret it

Purpleavocado · 21/10/2022 15:33

Really comfortable and good quality

Yes! I found this too. Infuriating.

fernz · 21/10/2022 15:45

They are good but I really don't want to support them due to their politics...

There's another company called Better Tights that has identical tights and I've started buying from them instead.

glasshole · 21/10/2022 15:49

I love them got twelve pairs delivered last week after a few of last years batch started to fail. I use the 80 denier and I do have to be careful with dog claws and Velcro on my my grandsons clothes etc but I love them. Perfect for me in autumn and winter and the colours are brilliant.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 21/10/2022 16:37

Yeah I used to buy them, but not keen on their adverts of big blokes showing off everything. And expensive.

icelollycraving · 21/10/2022 16:41

I like them. I love a fresh pair out of the stripy sweetie bags they come in.

Silverangels · 21/10/2022 16:47

I love them-only had one pair that laddered after the first wash (i think I washed them on a too hot temp)
their ‘chub rub’ shorts are heaven sent-I live in them
I buy at least 6 pairs every few months

HanSB · 21/10/2022 16:48

Better tights are similar and cheaper!

Toddlerteaplease · 21/10/2022 16:48

I hate their adverts so I won't buy them!

deliverooyoutoo · 21/10/2022 16:49

They're comfy but they snag and ladder like nobodies business. Which is why I don't buy them. Never got more than one wear out of a pair.

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 21/10/2022 17:01

What are their politics?
Have to say, I wear Marks tights every day and find them perfectly comfy - they do ladder after a few wears though. But only £3 a pair.
