Snag tights

Has anybody got any and are they any good?
Do they last and not get holes or ladders easily?

I tend to wear cotton high waist leggings instead of tights because normal tights are always too tight in the waist (despite my not being large) and uncomfortable - give me either stomach ache or back ache or both wearing them all day. I also tend to find them unbearably itchy and they don't stay up well.

Ideally I'd rather wear tights than leggings because it avoids the need for socks, leggings get baggy knees, and look less nice with a dress or skirt.

I'm also drawn to the lovely bright colours of snag.

If you've found this page in search of tights that have been tried and tested by fellow Mumsnet users, you might find our guide to the best tights useful. Hope this helps! MNHQ

I am convinced - I will look at the fb group and check out better tights as well!

What are their politics?
Have to say, I wear Marks tights every day and find them perfectly comfy - they do ladder after a few wears though. But only £3 a pair.

Any other brand just roll down on me because of my shape. I was forever having to pull my tights up and it drove me mad. Snag are more expensive but so worth it

Lovemylittlebear · 21/10/2022 17:04

What about the pants are they any good? Does anyone know of a promo code? X

I have two pairs of pants because I liked the colour. They’re very comfy.

Lovemylittlebear · 21/10/2022 17:26

Thank you :)

NorthFaceofthelaundrypile · 21/10/2022 18:25

I think they’re rubbish - and I’m someone who loves their chin rub shorts!
They go wrinkled round the ankle, thin very quickly between the thighs - not great given they’re targeted at those of us with “fuller figures”, sizing really variable, fall down, and more expensive than M&S

NorthFaceofthelaundrypile · 21/10/2022 18:26

Oh, and develop holes in the feet really quickly - never had holes in any of my other tights!

wibblewobbleball · 21/10/2022 18:27

Brilliant. I bought two pairs two years ago and they're still going strong... and I'm currently 4 stone heavier and 9 months more pregnant and they still fit!!!!

SirChenjins · 21/10/2022 18:29

I bought Better Tights after reading about them on here and they’re brilliant - plus they’re cheaper than Snag whose politics and dodgy Insta shots I refuse to support.

zhivagodr · 21/10/2022 18:34

fernz · 21/10/2022 15:45

They are good but I really don't want to support them due to their politics...

There's another company called Better Tights that has identical tights and I've started buying from them instead.

This. Similarly, I was about to buy Molke bras but after visiting its website decided not to. Similar politics ...

Ok - wondering about sizes. I'm 5'11" size 10-12. Don't know if I need size D or E. All the E pics look larger than me, even at similar height. The D pics all seem shorter. Not helpful. Any advice?

They used to be good, but the quality has gone down. They bobble really quickly and then are really uncomfortable.
Their current advertising campaign also puts me off

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 21/10/2022 18:55

Just looked at better - they are considerably cheaper so I might give them a go.

I like them

they fit well and they hold their shape. However I do find they get holes in the toe areas after a while.

ElegantPuma · 21/10/2022 19:39

They are a gamechanger. You put them on and forget that you are wearing tights - no sagging, no hoiking etc. I have thrown all of my other tights away. I've had my (many) pairs for several years now, and never had to throw any away.

(I am not a shill 😂)

Coffeetable123 · 21/10/2022 20:03

I mean I think they are ok? I bought some last year because people on here rave about them, but they didn’t seem wildly different to lots of the more expensive (comparable cost with Snag) tights I’ve bought in the past. I do have some Christmas novelty ones which are funny though.

EasterIssland · 21/10/2022 20:08

I used to hate wearing tights and now I love it.
I think I wear a E and I’m 5.5 16-18 so it might be big for you @BewareTheBeardedDragon

Rebecca34 · 13/11/2022 19:32

I am 5 5 and wear a size 18. Bought size E. Some fall down, others don't so not sure if i should buy more.

I've purchased some Better tights off the back of this thread, so much better than snag!

SkinnyFatte · 13/11/2022 20:33

I hate all hosiery but Snags are the only brand that don't annoy the h out of me.

I find them expensive but tend to wear them only on special occasions anyway so I feel like I can justify the price.

WaggledMyAerialAndWolfedMyCustardCreams · 13/11/2022 20:47

I’ve just bought some Better tights, having seen the recommendations here. They seem just as good, if not (ahem) better.

Craftybodger · 13/11/2022 21:08

I’m plus size. I could never find tights to fit until I tried Snags. But mine fall down.

Have just ordered some Better Tights to try. Thanks for the recommendation.

imbacktoshowyoumydress · 13/11/2022 21:28

Snag are great for me I'm 5ft 8/9 with long legs and I always have a nightmare with m&s large which fall down. Very happy with Snag

Cassillero · 13/11/2022 21:34

They're ok but not my favourite. My favourite tights at the minute are 100 denier from asda. They seem to wash really well and keep their shape all day. I also like primark 80 denier too and frequently ask my daughter to pick up a pack if she's going as they last really well. Sainsburys though are absolutely awful, as are asda lower denier tights.
