A call out to find the perfect a/w loafers....

Am trying to complete my collection of absolute staples. Come to think of it it could be the start of a capsule!

Navy wool pea coat, slim ankle grazers or a mini skirt with black opaque tights and I need the perfect loafers.

I've come to realise what I really want it quite a high vamp. I think it makes it more comfortable anyway but I prefer the look.

I like a little bit of an androgynous style so not too delicate, but not hugely chunky, not matte leather or suede, not patent, but a nice sheeny glossy leather would be perfect.

I keep coming back to Dr martens adrian, I like them but I'm not sure all those tassles wouldn't end up all curly.

I don't have a huge budget for Russell and Bromley, but I do want them to be high enough quality to last.
I tried the orinoco 2 from clarks but something is off for me. I like the simple bar (not too blingy) but the front is definitely too low.
Anyone any ideas?

I have searched for months for chunky, but not too chunky, comfortable, plain loafers (no tassels!). I have a mountain of shoe boxes to return, but have finally settled on Geox Bleyze. They are more than I was initially planning on spending but they feel like they are going to last.

I like a little bit of detail. Silver poss better than gold, it depends. I love the circle on the grenson ones. It's just a bit different.

The other ones I've just spotted are Prada😫😅
I had some which looked extremely similar in the 90s, from Shellys. Wish I still had them! Simple, high shine leather, a bit of detail that is just slightly different to the usual.

I used to have a pair of Patrick cox loafers that I bought second hand in the nineties. I still think about those sometimes!!

I also like these from John Lewis but am a sucker for a 'comfort shoe'. I have some leather soled Grenson boots and they aren't very comfy tbh. I'd much prefer something softer and bouncier underfoot.
I think that the colour of the metal thingy is key, the Grensons are nice and understated - as are the JL ones - but some of the others I've seen have been a bit too bright. If you are a size 5 this might help?

Have looked at those John lewis ones @MsPrism but wondered if they are quite square in the toe, I tend to choose a rounded or almond shape. They are nice though.

It's finally happening, I'm turning into my mum...looked at these and though wait, I had a pair just like this 1997, bloody loved them and wore them for school and working in Argos. Got them in Shelley's.

You may have to kiss a lot of frogs until you find the perfect ones. I’m going to start looking around the shops myself now - your search has really whetted my appetite!

Just the right heel and level of shine and the tassels are luxurious and not cheap looking. I rarely venture south of Gucci / Tods but I have to admit they are pretty good. She says very comfy too.
