I hope we can have some fabulous winter fashion and tiara events!

I'm hardly a follower of fashion, let alone a stylist, but I think PW is a tricky one to dress. Charles has always been a dapper dresser, there's a touch of the Bertie Wooster about his style. However PW obviously is a younger generation. If he stuck with the Saville Row style he is at risk of being seen to be too posh, too stuck in another age, aligned with the Rees Moggs of the world. Yet he can't be to casual, he can't be too trendy and God knows, there's a dearth of style down there on the high street. Catherine may mix in a bit of Zara alongside her classics but that's never going to work for PW.
Charlie Watts' dapper style worked because he was a Rolling Stone and could dress as the antithesis of the drugged up rock star. Anyway he was about 40 years older than PW.
I can't think of anyone PW's age who could be a style model for him. He's stuck being Boden man I'm afraid. I can't see any alternative.

I'm afraid I can't cast aspersions on PW's outfit there - exactly the kind of outfit my own DP wears all the time!

Looks like our Thread Mascot has had a haircut and a growth spurt, but still totally adorable!

I just wish Catherine would break out some stylish flat shoes. There are so many wonderful shoes about and she looks like she's off to audition for The Apprentice.

I agree with you about Kate's shoes, @DisforDarkChocolate , I'm just a bit bored with the vertiginous spike heels now and would like a bit more style and variety. Like Leti, Mary, Rania, Beatrice and Eugenie et al, she seems a bit wedded to them.

Meghan wears wonderful footwear from flats to high heels. She's the best ambassador for the shoe industry IMO

Was just browsing Instagram and came across this photo of HMQ and Princess Margaret and two blinding brooches.

Looks like they've been for a shampoo and set and the photographer's caught them before they've had a chance to take the hairdressing gown off!

I've seen that photo before, and there's a similar one with their mother in it too.

@KillingMeDeftly thats a lovely colour but I agree strange gowns or whatever they are, I can’t remember what the occasion was for that photo as the Queen mother was included in it too. I do remember it being in the newspapers as the latest portrait.

That's one of the famous photographs by Norman Parkinson taken to commemorate the Queen Mum's 80th birthday. All three of them are wearing matching blue satin jackets by Hardy Amies.

There are loads of Brit actors in their 40's William could look to
Henry Cavill, Christian Bale, James McAvoy, Tom Holland. All good looks and usually not too out there which is the risk with the music industry.

I agree with @ShamedBySiri that PW is a hard one to dress. I found a GQ article online on 'How to dress in your 40s' and the examples were David Beckham, Idris Elba and Mark Ronson - none of which really hit the mark (although he could have some fun trying out their looks).

Maybe the odd pocket square, a couple of more interesting jackets, some knitwear that has a bit more shape to it, an alternative to the trusty brown shoes...

Possibly a bit like Kate I'm not sure that William is actually that bothered. I get the impression that work clothes are just work clothes and they are happier in jeans, jumpers and boots which is absolutely fine.

Oh, and gorgeous pictures of our mascot. He's a proper little boy now. 💙

I don't know where this idea that Kate isn't interested in clothes comes from. She wears something new almost every time we see her! I can well believe it of William though, remember the fleece??

I agree - i think she’s very interested in clothing. She always looks immaculate, everything is absolutely impeccable. She’s just got very classic/conservative tastes and doesn’t really do trends/edge on an instinctual level.

Footwear is something she could so easily play with...I’m hoping that 2023 is the year she decides to really cut loose with her shoes!

Stephanie, mother of thread mascot Charles strikes me as someone not particularly interested in the fashion side of things. Not Kate.

She is pregnant @Maireas, they confirmed it a couple months ago.

She is pregnant, it’s been a long road for the couple (reportedly).

I suspected as much @CliffsofMohair as they must've been married about 10 years before Charles came along.
