Washing my face in the toothpaste sink ☹️

We’re getting a new bathroom put in and I desperately wanted ‘Jack and Jill’ sinks but they didn’t fit.

I would love to get into an evening routine of using lovely facial cleansing products but how does it work if you’ve only got one sink?

Wipe down the sink if it’s got toothpaste on it?

RefuseTheLies · 06/09/2022 22:39

It’s a sink, not a toilet bowl.

RodiganReed · 06/09/2022 22:40

Are your diamond shoes too tight too?

NoSquirrels · 06/09/2022 22:40

Alas and alack, you have to clean the sink.

I know it’s a blow, I feel similarly discouraged by it!

Yayayaya20 · 06/09/2022 22:42

I genuinely don’t understand the issue here. Am I doing my face wrong? Why would you need two sinks?

Fraaahnces · 06/09/2022 22:43

Good grief! Dramatic much! Most bathrooms only have one sink. Use a clean face washer if you’re that paranoid.

GrazingSheep · 06/09/2022 22:44

Such an obvious wind up

EmotionalSupportLynel · 06/09/2022 22:44

I sometimes think Mumsnet is a parallel universe.

BobMortimersPocketMeat · 06/09/2022 22:44

We keep a small, thin towel on the bathroom radiator for wiping out the sink between uses. Simple solution.

ThistleSifter · 06/09/2022 22:44

If they won’t fit side by side, perhaps a vertical arrangement could work?

mynameiscalypso · 06/09/2022 22:44

Is this going to be one of those threads when I realise that I've being doing something totally abnormal for all my life? I just washed my face and then brushed my teeth in the same sink...

weao · 06/09/2022 22:45

😂

Applebark · 06/09/2022 22:45

Everyone cleans up after yourself and use it when the other isn't using it.

Do you need a jack and Jill kitchen sink too?

APurpleSquirrel · 06/09/2022 22:47

What are you doing with the toothpaste that means you can't use the sink to wash your face?

CharlotteSt · 06/09/2022 22:48

Genuinely never understood the point of double sinks in the bathroom - it's twice as much to clean.

hugoagogo · 06/09/2022 22:54

I always assumed that was a dirty euphemism?

MissVantaBlack · 06/09/2022 22:55

Could you keep a nice bowl in the bathroom, especially for your facials? You could place it in the toothpaste sink to fill it up and use it, then empty and rinse it and store it on a shelf ready for next time.

Ahf22 · 06/09/2022 22:55

so many questions, firstly how old are you and how have you managed to cleanse your face so far?

does your partner leave toothpaste in the sink? Why don’t they leave the sink clean for the next user?

do you really need to ask internet randoms how it works if you want to start a new cleansing regime with only one sink? Are you both always in the bathroom at exactly the same time?

if it’s a wind-up, could you at least make it amusing?

Wombat27A · 06/09/2022 22:59

I think we need a toothpaste beaker...

There isn't an issue. It's some sort of stealth boast.

I sometimes think Mumsnet is a parallel universe.

As evidenced by this

We keep a small, thin towel on the bathroom radiator for wiping out the sink between uses. Simple solution.

Iamthewombat · 06/09/2022 23:02

You need a ‘face fountain’ like mine. It disgorges distilled water and is used exclusively for face cleansing.

carefullycourageous · 06/09/2022 23:04

Just use a babywipe.

vodkaredbullgirl · 06/09/2022 23:06

So a sink for your face and a sink for brushing your teeth, heard it all now.
