Washing my face in the toothpaste sink ☹️

We’re getting a new bathroom put in and I desperately wanted ‘Jack and Jill’ sinks but they didn’t fit.

I would love to get into an evening routine of using lovely facial cleansing products but how does it work if you’ve only got one sink?

Wipe down the sink if it’s got toothpaste on it?

It’s a sink, not a toilet bowl.

Are your diamond shoes too tight too?

Alas and alack, you have to clean the sink.

I know it’s a blow, I feel similarly discouraged by it!

I genuinely don’t understand the issue here. Am I doing my face wrong? Why would you need two sinks?

Good grief! Dramatic much! Most bathrooms only have one sink. Use a clean face washer if you’re that paranoid.

I sometimes think Mumsnet is a parallel universe.

We keep a small, thin towel on the bathroom radiator for wiping out the sink between uses. Simple solution.

If they won’t fit side by side, perhaps a vertical arrangement could work?

Is this going to be one of those threads when I realise that I've being doing something totally abnormal for all my life? I just washed my face and then brushed my teeth in the same sink...

Everyone cleans up after yourself and use it when the other isn't using it.

What are you doing with the toothpaste that means you can't use the sink to wash your face?

Genuinely never understood the point of double sinks in the bathroom - it's twice as much to clean.

I always assumed that was a dirty euphemism?

Could you keep a nice bowl in the bathroom, especially for your facials? You could place it in the toothpaste sink to fill it up and use it, then empty and rinse it and store it on a shelf ready for next time.

so many questions, firstly how old are you and how have you managed to cleanse your face so far?

does your partner leave toothpaste in the sink? Why don’t they leave the sink clean for the next user?

do you really need to ask internet randoms how it works if you want to start a new cleansing regime with only one sink? Are you both always in the bathroom at exactly the same time?

if it’s a wind-up, could you at least make it amusing?

You need a ‘face fountain’ like mine. It disgorges distilled water and is used exclusively for face cleansing.

Just use a babywipe.

So a sink for your face and a sink for brushing your teeth, heard it all now.
