The Oodie

Not sure if this is the correct section as it's not very stylish Grin. Is The Oodie worth the money at 2for £84? I'm hoping if it's decent I won't have to have the heating on as much.

I think it’s the comfort/in restricting thing plus the length and amount of you that it covers (and the hood and useful kangaroo pocket). On really cold days last winter I was wearing mine over a long sleeved thermal top and a wool jumper. I was then able to whip it off quick if someone came to the door or I had to be on a zoom call.

NorthernPud · 02/09/2022 18:36

I also bought a much thinner long open backed one which looks a bit more professional for video calls. It's not as warm though!

thenightsky · 02/09/2022 18:44

£85 is quite expensive. Mine was £35 from Amazon and my neighbour reckons its nicer than her original Oodie. I can't remember the name of mine though. They seem to heat up when you put them on. DH was very skeptical until I nagged him to try it when he was whingeing about feeling chilled in the (drafty) home office. He's a convert now.

Cynderella · 02/09/2022 23:42

I can't believe I'm considering something I dismissed as fugly just days ago, but I must be warm. I've bought a heated throw for evenings. Do I need an oodie for work (WFH) to go with my thermals, fingerless gloves and heat holder socks? I can't afford to have the heating on like I did last year.

Looked at Amazon's offerings, but reviews mention poor stitching which makes me doubt the quality. Both oodies and kudd.lys are offering discounts - do they do that through the winter, or do I need to buy now? And which do I want? The oodies look nicer - are they worth the extra?

i have Primark oodies. DH and the kids oodies. There is a big difference in quality so I am looking at oddies or Kuddly for myself this winter. Last year both Oodie and Kuddly did Black Friday.

berksandbeyond · 03/09/2022 07:46

I've bought one of the primark ones for DD (kids ones were £12/13 I think) and I am going to get myself either a primark one (£20) or an M&S one (£25)

I'm thinking I'll wear mine a fair bit as I work from home every day.

They didn’t do discounts most of last winter as far as I can remember. I have two oodies and I think they are worth at least the discounted price (I wouldn’t pay £80 for one).

MustBeThin · 03/09/2022 08:58

I have two solid colour Oodies and OH has a solid Kuddly, the Oodies are definitely thicker and longer. I have seen reviews before that say the Tie Dye Oodies are thinner than others but I'm not sure whether it's true or not.

I'm just washing mine to freshen them up ready for autumn 🍂 can't wait for cozy evenings wearing mine.

Cynderella · 03/09/2022 10:01

OK, so £59 each or £50 if I buy two - is the Black Friday price going to be any less than that? Tempted to buy now.

hewouldwouldnthe · 03/09/2022 10:07

Warmer and better made than the cheaper rivals. Can't wait to snuggle into mine on cold winter mornings. Yes, I did the 2 Oodie deal too. kids now also have one

hewouldwouldnthe · 03/09/2022 10:08

the new releases have harry potter themes.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 03/09/2022 10:20

Is this the right deal? My DD is obsessed with Harry Potter so I have to get her that lol

I'm looking at the bundles - two for £98 or £99. Not sure if all included. The Slytherin Adult is OOS which is annoying.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 03/09/2022 11:33

The HP wasn't included. It was a bit confusing as if I added the koala one which is an older one there wasn't a deal so I got the ravenclaw kids and penguin for me and it was 111. Prob expensive but I've done it now ha ha

@tonicwaters I've just had a look at the sienna one on Amazon and they do a zip up . It's £16.99 - a bit more than the over head one

Cynderella · 03/09/2022 13:38

I've ordered two - will see who claims the second one!

Oh thanks! Very good of you to let me know. Off to have a look....

TeaAndBiscuitsAndWine · 06/09/2022 23:26

Did anyone buy them in the Black Friday sales last year? What sort of price were they? Wondering whether to take advantage of the current offers or risk holding out for a (potentially) bigger discount!

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 06/09/2022 23:28

I have one, got it as a gift. Hate it because they are so big and bulky and it has a silly pattern on it. But yeh, they are warm.

MotherOfPuffling · 07/09/2022 11:58

A few posters have mentioned they are quite bulky, are they easy to move in? Eg to use a laptop? I wfh and am thinking of getting one to work in, but don’t want to feel like I can’t move easily.

Zeeza · 07/09/2022 12:11

I just got one and haven't worn it except to try on. It bunches a little under the arms a little but I could use a laptop with no problem. The comfy has good sleeve elastic which isn't tight put does stop the sleeves getting in the way.

onedayiwillflyaway1 · 18/11/2022 22:41

Bought one from primark today with some fleece pj's. Best decision I've made all week very cosy.
