What is your ghost outfit?

So I've been binge watching 'Ghosts' - the series about a couple who inherit a house filled with ghosts who are all dressed forever in the outfit they died in. It got me thinking that maybe my new motto should be 'Don't wear anything that you wouldn't be happy to be your eternal ghost outfit' 😂I've always been lazy with clothes and thought this might be the motto I've been searching for to give me some motivation!

So I was wondering, if you had to choose today an outfit to be your eternal ghost outfit, what would you pick? (I know this probably changes year to year so just go with what you'd choose today!)

I think it has to be something you feel good in but also you feel is very 'you' 😁x

I love this! I can’t decide beween a furry onesie (comfort and it’s probably cold in the afterlife) and a kick ass but glamorous ghost about town?

That's my dilemma too! Before I started to really think about it, I thought my ghost outfit should be something dressy so I'd make a good impression on my new ghost friends. But when it actually came down to it I realised I kept going back to really comfy options because... well, the afterlife is a long time! I couldn't even bring myself to put jeans on the list because I couldn't be dealing with denim for my entire afterlife, so uncomfortable. I guess that means I'd choose some kind of dress and tights, lovely comfortable tights. And probably DMs because... well, comfort!

Oh my goodness... losing the DMs, adding fluffy slipper boots to the list.

So, fluffy slipper boots, tights, and some kind of dress (partly to make myself feel like I've made a BIT of an effort, partly because they're comfier than trousers, except like leggings or joggers, but i feel like i can't willingly wear leggings or joggers for all eternity?)

Right now my ghost outfit is a gingham midi dress from Monki which I own in three different colour ways because I love it so much, with chunky gold (not gold really) hoop earrings and chain necklace, and Adidas Astir trainers. I have lived in that outfit all summer, although sometimes with Birkenstocks or Stan Smiths.

If we forward six weeks or so I will have a slightly slouchy bell-sleeved black Arket jumper, really pale blue Levi’s 80s mom jeans, and black DM Church monkey boots. I’ll keep the ghetto gold, and top it all off with a fair fur leopard coat from ASOS circa 2014 which is the gift that keeps on giving.

Can we be in control of the temperature, if we're ghosts?

Vintage YSL Le Smoking jacket carelessly thrown over a very slinky full length black dress, probably bias cut in matte satin. Lots of pearls (real). Manolos, the Serba 70 with the big velvet bows.

I will look amazing, as when did you ever hear of a fat ghost?

I’ll go with a bikini, sarong and flip flops - it will be hot in Hell!

Seriously though, probably a pair of Lucy & Yak Alexa trousers, a vest top, slouchy jumper and DMs, that’s what I usually wear. I want to be comfortable for eternity!

I've just finished Ghosts, I've really enjoyed it!
For me it's a toss up between an ancient Ralph Lauren t-shirt I wore for each child's birth, jeans and gazelles, or a black silk wrap dress and heels.

Well this was me 4 years ago and I would quite happily look like this and wear this dress forever! Unfortunately I’m now 3 stone heavier 😩

I'm lucky, my favourite skirt is both comfy and gorgeous. It's a maxi length froth of tulle. I'd wear it with a very comfy silk knit ballet wrap cardi and a vest top. And the skirt is long enough to have my fleecy slippers on without them being seen!

Black jumper
Biker jacket
Opaque tights
Sequin mini skirt
Ankle boots
Red lipstick

I always say that it would be just my luck that I die when I look an absolute scruff and I would be stuck for eternity with a crap outfit & messy hair!

I’m wafting about in a white linen shirt dress today and it would be a perfect ghost look and it’s very comfortable
no one ever mentions what ghosts wear on their feet so I’m going for some lovely diamanté flip flops

Jeans, DM 1460s, a t shirt and the crucial bit…..a cardigan like Annie’s, the ghost in Being Human. It varied ever so slightly throughout the series. It was what she died in, but could be a hoodie, a shawl, buttoned up, no buttons, longer, shorter etc…….

Can I have a ghost bod to go with the ghost outfit?

If yes then a female black satin tuxedo, slim pants, fitted double-breasted jacket open to reveal a black satin sleeveless body with va-va-voom cleavage. A brilliant costume jewellery necklace with an ox blood stone. I have ox blood in mind after another thread on here. Black patent leather stilletos.

If no, then my trusty pants and shirt from A Day and Gregson boots.

You may not get to choose. If this theory holds water, then many people will spend eternity in a hospital gown that doesn't close properly at the back.

It's ancient, maybe 15 years old, from Coast, back when they were worth the price. It's a gorgeous pink and fits me no matter what size I am.

It's supposed to be your ghost outfit, not your Incredibly Sexy Vampire Attire for the next thousand years.

Ideally, I'd be floating around looking like a Sicilian Widow, all slinky black, lace and perfect makeup, but knowing my luck, I'd end up spending eternity in black spandex capris and a sweat stained Godzilla t-shirt. Although that would be better than sensible shoes, sensible frock and a blazer like I wear at work because I'm not spending out on anything whilst I'm still losing weight if I can help it.

Can I just be naked?

At the moment, I look better that way than clothed, as I have lost a lot of weight, and all my clothes are like tents but I can't afford to replace them.

If I have to wear something, jeans, biker jacket, DMs and a smile.
