Anyone fancy a good old-fashioned 100 day princessing thread??

i haven’t seen one of these in a while and I need it!!!

I’ve been a bit of a mess since lockdown. Overweight, drinking too much, house a bit of a mess, sleep patterns gone out the window, not much exercise (I do walk the dog but he’s older so it’s more of a gentle stroll).

I want to feel like me again and I like a deadline.

In 103 days it’s 28th November, which is pretty much the start of Christmas. We also have a Center Parcs holiday booked.
Now if you’re Irish (like me), Christmas starts on 25th November (The Late Late Toy Show) so it’s actually 100 days today!

In the past, people would come up with a list of 10? things they want to focus on over the 100 days. I think In the early challenges there used to be 1 list but later ones were more individual with everyone having their own list.

My basics are

  1. 7.5 hours sleep a night (I never seem to get to 8)
  2. 2L water a day
  3. 16:8 fasting
  4. Shower, teeth & wash face daily.
  5. Start back with TOMM cleaning schedule
  6. use Lumea hair removal weekly
  7. deep clean every room
  8. figure out how to deal with my wavy hair
  9. get my eyebrows done
  10. exercise, even just for 10 minutes, everyday.
I might tweak some of these but it’s a starting point.

so anyone else in??

What's your basic list of things you do without too much trying?

Shower
Nails
Shave legs
Face cream

moribundclock · 04/11/2022 16:09

Nails is definitely a good one. On my to do list for tonight.

declutteringmymind · 04/11/2022 18:29

I fell off ages ago. Getting back into it.

My go to easy wins are:

face peel - the Dennis gross 2 min wipes while I'm brushing my teeth.

Getting my eyebrows threaded - instant face lift.

Straightening my hair. Not my fave style but makes me look instantly groomed

File nails

Yogachick · 05/11/2022 07:58

I too fell off but am back to it. Regular yoga practice✅Exfoliating face✅Maintaining dyed eyebrows /lashes & lash lift✅Back to growing my hair. My plan for that as I regularly try and fail is to get my new hairdresser to help. Changing the colour from the glorious but incredibly high maintenance ginger that was my youth to Lulu type highlighty woveny type thing which hopefully will absorb my grey and be lower maintenance. I’m thinking I might have one last trim as we have a big family holiday in 3 weeks so don’t want to look a mess for that. Have also resurrected my wig, a nice expensive one that looks very real, to get me in the longer hair stride. I want to strip the colour out of my hair, anyone found something good for that?

Yogachick · 05/11/2022 07:59

Adding to that I’m going from a short pixie😱so it’s going to be a loooooong job

LBB2020 · 05/11/2022 14:00

Hello! I fell off the thread ages ago 😳
There's only 7 weeks left until Christmas, how did that happen?! Back on it now!
I’ve booked my pre-Christmas hair and eyebrow appointment so that’s a start I guess!
I had a bit of a pamper session this morning. Did a face mask plus a sheet mask, used my foot file then some of those foot mask sock things, shaved my legs and did a conditioning hair mask.
I desperately need to get my eating under control and get back to the gym (I can’t even remember the last time I went!)

psuedocream3 · 06/11/2022 09:28

I haven't so much fallen off the bandwagon, than ran out of funds to make any real change.

I've kept up with tretinoin so my skin is good, and still using elasticizer and keratin straight treatments for my hair. The only real game changer since has been switching up my purple shampoo which leaves my hair shiny, thick and full of body so I'm making a permanent change to that one.

My hair wont grow, or if it is, it must be breaking before I notice which is probably due to postpartum hair loss, I'm keeping heat to a minimum and just throwing back in a claw clip as I give up on it. I need a hairdresser visit but cant afford it but will need doing before Christmas.

I could do with getting back on the diet bandwagon, starting today.

.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/11/2022 20:31

pseudo what purple shampoo are you using? I tried the Bleach London one but it made no difference apart from getting on my shower curtain .
I've got the Aveda Blue Malva conditioner (in the tube ) it's ok but needs left on 10-15 minutes .

ChiaraMontague · 19/11/2022 17:56

I've been thinking of doing a Princess-y advent with a different type of pampering thing each day. Like a diy manicure one day, face mask another day etc. I need to have a proper think to come up with enough ideas!

lisam78 · 21/11/2022 11:34

Hi, I posted right at the start of the thread, but I'm afraid I haven't been very good at sticking to my list. I have managed to do some exercise, but not enough, and not consistently. Managed to keep on top of hair & eyebrow appointments, and taking collagen and Vit D every day. Really failing on the healthy eating. I'm going to make a real effort between now and Christmas to improve on exercise. The rest will need to wait until New Year!

This is me too! I'm doing ok with most things apart from eating. These dark days are the worse, I normally feel better once the shortest day has passed.

fallfallfall · 23/11/2022 23:06

i joined late in the game but my goal of nail care was easily met. i'm content with my routine and the products i use. so, i've moved onto face care...hoping to change a few things with 90 days of effort.

Nepenthe · 25/11/2022 22:12

Hello, I know I'm late to the party, but better late than never. I'm freshly out of a long relationship, have a new house and new job. I'm starting to get back to myself, but I've been in such a slump the last few years, I haven't had much time or energy for making the best of myself.

I bought a water flosser a couple of weeks ago, and I've been using that every 2-3 days. (I struggle with some personal hygiene tasks sometimes, especially dental, so although I do brush at least once a day, I never flossed, so this is a big improvement for me.) I'd definitely recommend it for anyone else that struggles with flossing.

Here's my list:
Bed by 11pm on weeknights
TOMM
Shower / teeth / wash face
1 litre of water (being realistic)
10 min stretching exercises
10 min meditation
1 piece of fruit / veg (cooking has suffered with all the recent changes)
No sweets / sugary snacks
Actually take the expensive vitamins I keep buying

Today I haven't done any stretching or meditation, and I only drank about 250ml water. It's been a busy day though.

Oh, and I'm ditching the weeknight booze, too.

moribundclock · 26/11/2022 12:01

I'm going to look up the water flosser @Nepenthe

I think I've been in a bit of a slump. I'm not dieting but I've eaten too much in terms of snacks and comfort food in the last couple of weeks.

Sorting out sleep is top of my list. I'm going to try Dermatica subscription, or one of those places, this weekend, try to get a nice glow in time for the new year.

Nepenthe · 26/11/2022 13:41

@moribundclock Mine is a Waterpik, ordered on a whim when I saw it available on my tesco online. There are cheaper ones on Amazon. There have been some Black Friday deals around too, not sure if they're all done now. I was in Boots yesterday, they had the Waterpik on offer for about £35 I think, but not sure if that was BF or a general offer.

SheWoreARaspberryBeret123 · 26/11/2022 18:40

Hello Princesses! 👑👑👑

Right, I have finally started with my tooth whitening programe - on day 2 of 4hrs a day (because overnight kills my nerves🙈)

Have just dyed my hair and conditioned it.

Ordered some new clothes to try on.

Need to:
Get my nails done
Do exercise every day!
Remove hair from various body parts!

Oh and lose 3st 🙈🙈🙈

SheWoreARaspberryBeret123 · 26/11/2022 18:41

Oh also have ordered some collagen! 🐄🐄🐄

fallfallfall · 26/11/2022 21:50

@SheWoreARaspberryBeret123 great start!
i’m in the process of a dental implant some 40 years after a tooth was removed, week 2-3 after the first part (bone graft sinus lift).
learning how to remove upper lip hair using sugaring (stuff left here by my daughter, so far I’m not doing fab technique wise).
and presently researching retinol, niacinamide and other options for age/sun spots.
although I’m loving my lactic acid exfoliator!

moribundclock · 26/11/2022 23:44

Thanks @nepenthe

Deathraystare · 27/11/2022 09:02

Where has the time gone? Nearly the end of the year! This year was going to be so different!

I must get my hair coloured and brows topped up. I did at last hack the armpits to bits cos the hair was prickling me! I must also sort out my nails.

I am not working much of Christmas (unless things change) so I could indulge in a big pampering session. All whilst watching shit TV of course!

moribundclock · 27/11/2022 09:04

Those metal twisting hair removers with the plastic handles are good and easy to use. Very cheap too.

fallfallfall · 29/11/2022 05:03

@moribundclock i’ll eventually master it.
but thank you for the suggestion, honestly I’ve never seen those things before!! I even discovered mini electric type razors for women.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/12/2022 20:26

Only a couple of weeks now , the finishing line is in view Xmas Grin

I have a bloody annoying cold sore , I think the change in temperature this week brought it on.
I need to take extra care brushing my teeth so it doesn't bleed and applying face cream so I don't touch it .

But I'm liking wearing my winter clothes so - result !

Yogachick · 10/12/2022 08:01

My progress has been continuing with lash lift and tint/ eyebrow tint and I’ve now found a lovely reasonably price nail lady so I’m going regularly. Everything else is the same state as when I started tho I’ve yet to have a haircut. Hair is growing super slowly, teeny dead end trim next week. Must be strong through this tricky Justin Bieber time…

fallfallfall · 11/12/2022 18:06

i've kept up with the nails, the upper lip (doesn't get practiced often as it's not necessary often) so that is still awkward.
i've added in some face care, that's been a really fun learning curve.
so i'm ending the year on a more refined note.
