Anyone fancy a good old-fashioned 100 day princessing thread??

i haven’t seen one of these in a while and I need it!!!

I’ve been a bit of a mess since lockdown. Overweight, drinking too much, house a bit of a mess, sleep patterns gone out the window, not much exercise (I do walk the dog but he’s older so it’s more of a gentle stroll).

I want to feel like me again and I like a deadline.

In 103 days it’s 28th November, which is pretty much the start of Christmas. We also have a Center Parcs holiday booked.
Now if you’re Irish (like me), Christmas starts on 25th November (The Late Late Toy Show) so it’s actually 100 days today!

In the past, people would come up with a list of 10? things they want to focus on over the 100 days. I think In the early challenges there used to be 1 list but later ones were more individual with everyone having their own list.

My basics are

  1. 7.5 hours sleep a night (I never seem to get to 8)
  2. 2L water a day
  3. 16:8 fasting
  4. Shower, teeth & wash face daily.
  5. Start back with TOMM cleaning schedule
  6. use Lumea hair removal weekly
  7. deep clean every room
  8. figure out how to deal with my wavy hair
  9. get my eyebrows done
  10. exercise, even just for 10 minutes, everyday.
I might tweak some of these but it’s a starting point.

so anyone else in??

Ooo, I had a bath! A proper, lovely bath! After this horrible virus I decided I needed a treat. Dh was on nights, I put the dc to bed and had bath oil, some lovely epsom salts (I think the brand is westlab, they are good for my dry skin and nicely fragranced), I used a clay mask whilst it was filling up, epilated my legs, used a footfile. I have felt so smooth and lovely ever since!

vjg13 very sorry to hear about your dog.

@70isaLimitNotaTarget How did the hair gloss turn out? Was it a coloured one?

It's the clear one I have vjg one from Superdrug in a round flat bottle (Glaze) . They do have coloured ones though

My hair is softer but I cannot see its any shinier though I've got a lot of grey which is dullsville anyway <sad face>

I thought I might as well use it as it was lurking in the bathroom cupboard , waiting for Princessing Grin. It might need a few applications

fallfallfall · 20/09/2022 21:34

sorry to hear about the pup @vjg13 and i'm really interested with the idea of dying my eyelashes...this never occurred to me as a potential thing to be done!
@70isaLimitNotaTarget good planning on using stuff on hand, like me trying the sugaring to rid myself of the stray bikini line hairs that had sprouted.
meanwhile the Dior Nail Glow arrived, indeed a small bottle which is fine and other than info on this particular product zero info as to a suggested base coat or other accompanying products which i found disappointing.
a fair amount of cooking/dishes and a floor that needs to be washed so the manicure will need to wait.

fallfallfall · 21/09/2022 05:09

polish changed up. I hope the coats dry well. 2 of OPI original nail envy, one of Dior nail glow on my hands. Two coats of OPI cosmo not tonight.

vjg13 · 21/09/2022 07:21

@fallfallfall It does depend on your eyelash colour, mine look hugely improved after. You only have to leave it on for 5 mins or so although it does sting if it gets into your eye!

ShirtingForkBalls · 21/09/2022 07:55

Ooo can I join please?
Will think of my things later as need to get kids out the house.
But, what's hair gloss treatment????

fallfallfall · 21/09/2022 22:13

the nail inc stuff arrived today. and i really like the cuticle oil both the eye dropper/delivery method and the texture.

christmas2022 · 22/09/2022 06:50

Late incomer here not done this before - is it something I can join and will I be a princess by Christmas?

fallfallfall · 22/09/2022 14:38

At least you can feel and maybe look like one @christmas2022 .
what is on your princessinv wish list?

christmas2022 · 22/09/2022 14:59

Not sure. How does this work?

I'm staring from a low bar so baby steps I guess.

fallfallfall · 22/09/2022 15:14

Well what’s your fancy? Some chose no snaking, eating healthy, drinking fluids and exercise. Some are decluttering. I chose something super simple. I’m already on another thread regarding wt. loss.
so I’m princessing my nails.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 26/09/2022 21:02

I'm getting used to my new haircut , I had a good bit cut off the length . I can wear it loose now wheras before I just tied it back .

Also I'm wearung more of my clothes rather than just reaching for the Same Old Same Old . I've put all my jumpers on one rail and blouses /leggings/jeggings on another .

I've recycled a coat and some boots to Charity Shop.

Next on the list is a face mask ( I have one of the Aldi double pink/gold ones) and a deep conditioner for hair , usually I apply overnight .

ChiaraMontague · 27/09/2022 17:21

Another week in and doing ok. Weight is down a little bit more which I'm pleased about - this is down to diet as I haven't been exercising as much as I'd like.

I've been doing ok with adding more fruit & veg, I have a smoothie for breakfast (frozen fruit and spinach blended up with Greek yoghurt) but I need to find a way to increase portions at lunch & dinner. Getting into soup weather though, so that might be a way of doing it.

I'm really impressed with the Philip Kingsley Pure Gloss serum - it gives my hair a lovely subtle shine, enhancing the highlights and making the most of my natural colour.
The body building shampoo & conditioner is good too but not dramatic, just a subtle bit of oomph!

I've got a hair appt booked for a few weeks time, will get a cut and have more highlights. I'm also going for a mani pedi on the same day, but would like to give my nails some TLC beforehand. Anyone who decided to focus on their nails as part of princessing, what are you doing?

What's no snaking?

I'm eating better / losing weight
I had a bath with some bath salts and a face mask and hair oil

That's a very basic start. Will keep trying and follow for ideas.

christmas2022 · 28/09/2022 03:02

@ChiaraMontague

Like your update.

I'm less likely to actually go for a manicure but a home version is a good idea.

I've tried a few of those blocks that biff and shine but they have all been rubbish. Any recommendations for a good one?

Please and thanks

fallfallfall · 28/09/2022 04:05

@christmas2022 spelling mistake, snacking.

PatienceOfEngels · 28/09/2022 08:33

My UTI turned out to be pelvic floor issues (apparently caused by stress) so currently at home from work, mostly lying down and definitely not doing any exercise (wanted to start running, yoga, swimming again) except relaxation and pelvic floor exercises.

Cancelled all my appointments apart from my haircut yesterday (which I've been waiting for for 4 weeks). Was lovely and relaxing, looks good....and then someone went into the back of my car on the way home - not my month!!!

On the plus side, I will have lots of time to start doing mindfulness again. I'm doing really well with diet - have no desire for alcohol or junk and am down 4.5kg in the last 6 weeks. Have lost 5cm on my waist and 2cm on my hips. 6.5kg to go for a healthy BMI. Would really like to be there by Christmas.

Floydthebarber · 28/09/2022 10:43

I think you're mistake is going for 'biff and shine' instead of buff Grin

I'm still doing ok. Slow weight loss is continuing, keeping up with more fruit and veg, still not amazing but improving. Decluttering is slow but every little bit is helping. I've got my epilator charged for later, my legs have't reached a forest like state yet!

PatienceOfEngels oh no! A lot of damage or ok?

PatienceOfEngels · 28/09/2022 12:31

@Floydthebarber not too serious so hopefully be back on my feet soon. I cannot believe that childbirth didn't cause any problems but finishing a big project and getting stressed about it did!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 02/10/2022 12:37

I bought some of the BodyShop Ginger Scrub (for the scalp)
We all use the Ginger shampoo/conditioner though for me it's only when my scalp is being sensitive and rough

DD tried out the crub yesterday she liked it
I did this morning , wet my hair took a scoop, rubbed across both palms then onto my scalp . It matted my hair so much I couldn't even attempt to run my fingers through it
I am suffering hair loss at the moment ( I was ill a couple of months ago so I think it's that though I'm going to ask my GP for a blood test )
I had to apply conditioner to remove the scrub and rinse well , I might use a hair oil before I put a comb anywhere near .

My DD and DS will use it .
But it's a "No" from me .

vjg13 · 02/10/2022 14:35

@70isaLimitNotaTarget That sounds awful, I find the Philip Kingsley itchy scalp products excellent when my scalp feels horrible and the shampoo seems to sort it out after about 2 uses, the tonic is great too.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 02/10/2022 21:22

I've used the Ginger shampoo when it came out and didn't like ot as it felt matted , I only use it now with the conditioner to follow up .

Ive use PK Elasticiser in the past (huge 1 litre bottle from QVC) it gets better with continued use .

My scalp seems to react to stress (in a bad way) at the moment its at the nape of my neck that is irritated .

Can anyone recommend a really good lip moisturiser please? Need to euro in not frying them out over winter.

Floydthebarber · 03/10/2022 13:16

I use palmers cocobutter lipbalm. I used Carmex for years but read that the tingling menthol in it actually dries your skin out, which makes sense. I also use a plain lanolin (still working through a tube from when dd2 was a breastfeeding newborn!) which really does work for dry, flaky, sore lips. It helps heal them rather than just sit on top like vaseline does.

There's one called Hurraw that I bought for my DD for winter ( a flavoured and a night one)

Bers Bees scrub and balm
