Hi! I'm only a 34a - boohoo!! I usually just wear lightly padded t-shirt style bras..I'd love to wear something a bit sexier or something that will give me a cleavage! Anyone recommend any bras that are good for small bust?

These Wacoal push up bras are brilliant at creating curves where none exist.

Loiste · 17/08/2022 14:18

Hmmm...this sizing thing took a bit of a turn 🙂but I'll anyway suggest underprotection as another brand to check out. They're pretty good for the smaller-boobed I find!

I'm now dying to go and try on some bras 🤣 I can't imagine dropping down a back size though as sometimes 34s can feel tight? X

I said the same thing to the lady who got me in the right size. The band on the bra I was already wearing was tight, and said there was no way a smaller band would fit. It did though, and as it wasn't riding up and the cups were in the right place it was so much more comfortable. The cup in a 30D is a different size and shape to the cup in a 34D. I needed flat and wide cups aparently! 😂

Just told my mum I'm going to a retail park this evening to go try on bras cos online calculator says I could be a 30D and she weed herself laughing at me 🤣 says my fried eggs couldn't be that cup size. Made me even more intrigued to go try some on tonight now!

What craziness is this? Like OP, I thought I was a 34a but went on the calculator because a couple of people said that was a weird size. Apparently I'm a 28e... Surely that can't be right?

Namechanged454 · 17/08/2022 15:36

Qnc, I'm going to test it out this evening and go try some bras on so I'll let you know! I've literally only ever worn/tried on 34a (and 32a years ago) so I'm very intrigued x

If anyone is near Sheffield I can recommend an excellent independent lingerie shop for proper professional bra fitting.

QNC · 17/08/2022 16:17

Yes, let me know! I keep assuming I must have done the measurements wrong or something for it to have given me that size 😁

SheilaWilde · 17/08/2022 16:36

I'm a 34A - or thought I was - and I've been wearing bralets for years because I can never find 34A anywhere and then get bored. I've just done B or B and I come out as 26 DD (which it then says probably isn't available) so it's given me a size of 28 C! I'd love to get a bra that actually fits.

Please update on your bra trying on session. I'm going to look online for 28C although I can't believe I'm a C because I've got such tiny boobs and I'm very slight.

JaneJeffer · 17/08/2022 16:40

The boob or bust measurement made me feel like I was in a crusher.

SheilaWilde · 17/08/2022 16:41

Well I've just looked at John Lewis and they had 1 bra in a 28C! M&S had 4, two of which were 'first bras'. I'm 54!

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 17/08/2022 16:45

I like asda bras. May need to get less common sizes online but they fit well and are a great price.

Jellytottss · 17/08/2022 16:51

I don't think 34 is an odd size. I have a broad back back but it's slim I'm a size 10 in a top. I have bras that's are a 34A also 32B.

I'm really tiny chested it would be a waste to shop in M&S for a bra. Primark plunge bras do wonders if you want a cleavage look OP.

musicalfrog · 17/08/2022 16:58

Following with interest 🤔

redtulip12 · 17/08/2022 17:09

30d is quite hard to find (my daughter is this size) as many shops seem to start at a 32 band size. I recommend boux avenue. She likes the plunge style as it gives her a cleavage.

LucyLoopyLu · 17/08/2022 17:25

I can pretty much rely on M&S 32C fitting well if it's a plunge bra but the best fit I've had was a 30D bra from Boux Avenue. My boobs are tiny but wide set and found that lots of smaller cups are just too narrow.
Whatever size it is I find balcony bras really uncomfortable and gape (think my boobs are the wrong shape) - plunge is much better for me

PeloAddict · 17/08/2022 17:27

I wear a 34 band as a size 16 Smile

A 34 back isnt an usual size but to have a 34A bust would be unusual. Most woman around whose back a tape measure fits tightly at 34 wouldnt get round their breasts at 35 inches. I dont know that many woman are A cups at all but thats just my own speculation

PeloAddict · 17/08/2022 17:28

This is helpful to see what bra sizes look like

Jellytottss · 17/08/2022 17:32

@MILLYmo0se hmm true. I'm actually quite curvy size 12 bottom half. All my weight holds in my bum. Gutted I don't have bigger boobs not even in pregnancy did they get bigger!

oviraptor21 · 17/08/2022 17:32

Mumsnet us evangelical about Boob or Bust. It doesn't work for everyone though. I'm a 34B. Boob or bust would say 30D (I'm a 29 underbust) but even a 32 anything is gives me red weals. As for brand, Debenhams gives lovely cleavage but no physical stores any more.

tiggergoesbounce · 17/08/2022 17:47

I live in padded wonderbras Blush

I meaure a 32B but was told i should wear a 30 DD, it just didnt fit right on me, or that might have something to do with the padding im used to but tried the wonderbra in a 30DD and didnt fit at all.

Ragged · 17/08/2022 18:54

Has OP said her actual numbers?
Because no one with 4" difference in band circumf under/over should refer to boobs as fried eggs.

Orangello · 17/08/2022 19:18

34A is the same cup volume as 30C, so just one cup size difference from what BoB recommended.
As for fried eggs, many people who have been fitted by M&S as A-cups would describe themselves as having tiny or no boobs, right? A cup means small, after all. But a M&S measured A-cup would in fact have about 5 inch difference between underbust and boobs.
