That too looks very dated and too summery for September.

gluenotsoup · 06/09/2022 17:30

I think Meghan has a lovely figure, but that doesn’t do her any favours. My body is a similar shape, and for that outfit you need to be taller and more willowy with a tiny waist and small bust. Otherwise- saggy and waist less is how it ends up, even if you’re not.

gluenotsoup · 06/09/2022 17:34

I like the photo of HM today though. The soft, silvery shade suits her and looks smart but relaxed. I think the formal ish cut to the cardi is appropriate for her comfort but still looks stylish.

Was 30c in Dusseldorf today I'd have been summery in that heat phew.

She has such a gorgeous smile, always has done. Her face lights up

gluenotsoup · 06/09/2022 17:40

It does!
A couple of pics here. I also love having a little look at the inside of any royal home, I love decor and interiors too, and those little peeps are great!

Her colour scheme is very similar to mine it's light airy but restful. I recall another picture a few years ago and the room was very gloomy.

Can anyone read the motto in the fire surround I can only make out the word impune

“Nemo me impune lacessit” - the Latin motto of the House of Stuart, the royal house of Scotland who took the British throne after Elizabeth I’s death. It means “no one picks a fight with me and gets away with it” (well, more or less 😀).

gluenotsoup · 06/09/2022 17:55

I can’t make it out either. It looks a comfortable, homely room though. The items are no doubt very grand, but the overall look really looks comfortable and pleasant

gluenotsoup · 06/09/2022 17:56

Oh, cool meaning! I wonder if I’d get away with it on mine…🤔

Yewtown · 06/09/2022 17:56

Nemo me inpune lacessit, I think. It's the Royal Stuart motto. No one provokes me with impunity.

justasking111 · 06/09/2022 18:00

I like that Motto 😂

SenecaFallsRedux · 06/09/2022 18:05

I've often thought that when George V was ruminating on possible replacements for Saxe-Coburg-Gotha during WWI, he should have used Stuart as that was the last British surname held by a British monarch. Or maybe Tudor-Stuart. Stuart does have some negative connotations, their having been wedded somewhat to the divine right of kings notions, plus the Civil War and Charles I's misfortunes.

Serenster · 06/09/2022 18:15

This a totally random historical fact, but the royal family should actually have had the surname “Wettin” after Victoria married Albert, as that was his actual last name. Victoria didn’t think it was regal enough, however. It would have solved some problems later on, though 😂

susiebluebell · 06/09/2022 18:23

House of Wettin just doesn't have a ring to it in English, does it? 😛

BornBlonde · 06/09/2022 19:51

Meghan looked beautiful in the red but today's outfit is awful. I can only imagine it looking good on an extremely tall Victoria's Secret model

Just watched footage video from Germany. When she walks those trousers move beautifully the fabric is fluid

RomainingCalm · 06/09/2022 20:34

Lovely to see HMQ smiling and yes, I really like her tweed skirt and cardigan combos. I particularly admire her commitment to having her handbag with her at all times!

The cream trousers and top on Meghan are pretty awful. I wonder whether it would have been better if the top was a darker colour as white/cream are so unforgiving. Either way, I struggle with anyone spending £££ on clothes that don't fit properly or look as if they need an iron.

margotsdevil · 06/09/2022 21:47

I think the outfit on Meghan makes her look short and dumpy somehow. Normally she looks far more elegant. I'm also not that keen on the colour combo - I know she's going for tonal dressing but in that photo the colours are just too close for me.

KillingMeDeftly · 06/09/2022 21:48

Yes @justasking111 I saw some footage too and the trousers looked a lot better in motion.

chesterelly1 · 06/09/2022 21:48

New thread - cosying up for Autumn but don't give us the hump with too much camel

KillingMeDeftly · 06/09/2022 22:00

I think we're still a fair way off a new thread!

justasking111 · 06/09/2022 22:06

I'm guessing the royals will be out and about again later this month. Do they still publish royal schedules

StartupRepair · 06/09/2022 22:14

That cream top is pretty unforgiving on anyone with a bust.
