@Maireas I'd forgotten the perfume! I do remember her though.

susiebluebell · 28/07/2022 18:28

Agree that Leti's outfit just misses the mark this time. I don't like the brown espadrilles either - I know dresses with trainers are a bit cliché at this point, but I'd love to see her (or Kate) do a nice white trainer with a dress like that.

Camilla has just rocked up with Charles at the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth games in a rather splendid jumpsuit!

Kaftankween · 28/07/2022 20:17

Yes I thought Camilla was wearing trousers with a split coat dress over. But might be a jumpsuit. So elongating and flattering. Love it.

Kaftankween · 28/07/2022 20:23

I see she’s worn it before. It’s by Anna Valentine. It looked longer tonight than the 2019 outing floor length, which made it look more elegant.

Countess of Wessex in a lovely shade of green although it does look a bit like she needs a bra intervention!

KillingMeDeftly · 29/07/2022 07:11

They all need a bra intervention!

SeaRabbit · 29/07/2022 07:41

I've come across this series of photos of Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden. Doesn't she look lovely:

She looks lovely in red. That's a very pretty tiara!

No one wears a tiara like CPVand Madeleine!

KillingMeDeftly · 29/07/2022 08:46

A gathering of the Danish/Greek royals. Some interesting body language from eternal birthday girl CPM!

Maireas · 29/07/2022 08:49

What lovely pictures of the three sisters. I like the casual summer looks from everyone, including The Eternal Birthday Girl. ☺️

Followed the suggested link in the CPV tiara article to see some of her lovely looks from back in the day. I was really struck by this other red gown she wore at the Nobel Prize in 1995. Those deep, bright reds are quite hard to pull off, but she looks wonderful both then and now.

Here's the Hello pictures of Sophie at the CG. I like the green, but really don't like the shiny fabric and high neck. Her hair looks nice, though. The shorter, wavy look is very flattering.

I agree, @susiebluebell - the red looks good on CPV.

I really like that shade of greeny blue, and Sophie’s hair looks good there. She really does need hoiking up a bit though, the dress would look a lot better with the right bra

I agree.

Daisy and her sisters - what lovely photos and happy memories.

KillingMeDeftly · 29/07/2022 10:54

I like Sophie's dress but the fabric is pretty unforgiving, hence the need for the intervention! It would look good on Kate too.

You could've told me the first photo was from the 19th century and I'd have believed you. She looks like a princess in a novel, pining after a stable boy but knowing she has to marry the Duke of the next province for the benefit of her country.

shufflestep · 29/07/2022 14:23

If you want to see your tiaras up close, I went round the state rooms at Buckingham Palace at the weekend and as part of a special exhibition for the platinum jubilee you get to see the girls if great Britain and Ireland tiara, the George IV diadem and the Vladimir tiara (with emeralds). There is also the dress, coronet and robe worn by HMQ at her father's coronation. Even DH was properly impressed, they really are beautiful in real life! Well worth a visit!

Let's agree that's definitely what she was thinking of!

She styles herself in a much more modern way these days, which is great, but that old-world look is magical on her.

Maireas · 29/07/2022 16:48

Thanks for the recommendation, @shufflestep. Sounds like a good visit!

Going down an internet rabbit hole, it reminded of how stunning the Queen looked when she met Pope John Paul at the Vatican in 1980. The black veil with the Vladimir tiara. The striking blue sash. This was a costume

Sophie at the CWG yesterday. The dress I can take or leave but I like her new hairstyle.

Maireas · 30/07/2022 08:56

Yes, I like her hair shorter and wavy, less severe. Nice dress, not too ditsy and I like the fluted sleeves. Anne really loves her Top Gun shades, doesn't she?
