Name-changed for this just in case!

100% honesty on this dress - I love it but my bust is considerably bigger than my waist so my chest always looks top heavy.

I feel like I have a flabby mum body - is this your first thought too? (Dress for special occasion, wanted to feel beautiful but mostly just feel matron-ish. Also please ignore trainers!)

I think you've got a lovely figure.

The dress is ok, I wouldn't have said special occasion though.

slowcookerforone · 26/06/2022 09:54

I'm similar to you, big boobs, small waist, not much of a torso.

I would avoid dresses like the one you are wearing for this reason (I don't like being all boobs - especially as I have quite a delicate face)

I prefer the more buffet dresses, especially as they are more fashionable too.

leotardrock · 26/06/2022 14:32

I think it looks great but I would wear that for every day stuff not for a special occasion!

ListerLess · 26/06/2022 17:23

Thank you all 👍 Lots of helpful thoughts and suggestions all appreciated 😊

Special occasion is best friend's engagement party, she has asked me to be maid of honour so I wanted to wear something special, sounds from opinion this TK Maxx dress strikes people as more 'everyday' anyway.

From thoughts/suggestions I found this online and hoping it might be better for my body shape. Poss not fancy enough though... (not bought yet!)

As you asked I will be honest and say it’s a bit dowdy and matronly. You have a lovely hourglass figure and would suit something fitted maybe with a boat neck?

inappropriateraspberry · 26/06/2022 17:32

The blue dress is lovely, but may look very busty again, I really think a lower neckline would be more flattering.

inappropriateraspberry · 26/06/2022 17:35

I think this would really flatter you.

I'd give the blue dress a big thumbs up OP.

Great shape for you and looks more 'special occasion'.

Mumteedum · 26/06/2022 17:53

What about This one ?

Mumteedum · 26/06/2022 17:53

I think the blue one is nice but yes agree with pp, busty again.

Floraflower3 · 26/06/2022 17:55

You have an amazing figure but I’m not a fan of the dress and pattern. I think you would actually look good in one of the bright summer colours around at the moment. I also think you could possibly buy a better fitting bra that will support your bust more.

Once again your figure is beautiful!

Youcansaythatagainandagain · 26/06/2022 17:56

Any round neckline with a waist will make your chest look like a shelf. The red wrap dress would look amazing on you.

SusieSimpleman · 26/06/2022 18:01

I disagree with all the comments throwing shade at the dress. I think it's lovely...it looks great on you and its a beautiful style and colour.

However...its more of a team with wedge sandals and wear to a nice brunch dress. Not dressy enough for what you want.

This one is really lovely, it looks very posh if I may say so and it would definitely look good on you, much better for the important event you're attending too! And do get a proper bra. My girls are smaller now but I was about your size before and it's important to have proper support when the girls are that big! With proper support even the back will stand up straighter and it should give you a nicer waist as they're lifted so the waist will show more!
Don't know how easy you can find them now but I loved strapless wonder bras. My boobs were super heavy and the wonder bra had these inserts that felt like hands (kinky I know!) lifting them up so it all held in place. With other bras I always found myself pulling it up and it felt really uncomfortable (for reference I was EE and F at the time). Try Maidenform too.

DontLikeCoffee · 26/06/2022 19:02

Love the blue dress. How about these from boohoo.

Gorgeous figure, OP!

I'm not keen on the high neckline with narrow opening that's making your whole top half bust. I think you'd look amazing in a sweetheart or scoop or wide V neckline - reveal your collarbones and upper décolleté, breasts showcased but also de-emphasised beneath. I'm a recent convert to Empreinte bras for special occasions, scaffolding made of sheer lace.

DrPayne · 26/06/2022 19:09

Your body is fine, the dress is horrid and the neckline and puff sleeves dont suit big boobs and the trainers dont go with dresses.
you don't look flabby all i see is a slim(10uk)/slimish(12-14uk) body with huge boobs.

MushyPeasPrincess · 26/06/2022 19:22

Theredjellybean · 25/06/2022 20:32

You look as if you have fantastic figure but that is a dreadful dress.
If you want to feel glamorous ignore the current trend for amish style chastity chic milkmaid dresses

Chastity Chic is a brilliant description of this hideous trend.

I think you have a great figure. But you need new bras to hoick those mamma's up where they should be and you need a better, more flattering cut dress. You could carry off so many brighter, nicer styles OP!

Stravaig · 26/06/2022 19:23

The blue one has a clever neckline, opens the area up, but still covered. Stunning colour too.

ListerLess · 26/06/2022 19:31

@inappropriateraspberry Ooooh, I didn't see that one! I really like the colour and neckline 👌

@Mumteedum What a gorgeous colour! Brilliant link, thank you, love this one.

ListerLess · 26/06/2022 19:34

@DontLikeCoffee Oh, that middle one is beautiful! Hadn't thought of boohoo, thanks for the link.

It seems a bit fussy and doesn’t show off your figure. Maybe a midi dress like this would show off your figure: www.theprettydresscompany.com/clothing-c1/dresses-c2/the-pretty-dress-company-myla-midi-dress-p183#attribute%5B1%5D=63

Seaoftroubles · 26/06/2022 20:14

Fab figure but the dress does nothing for you.You would look gorgeous in a soft wrap dress. Also invest in a good bra to give you a bit more uplift. Ditch the trainers too!

Youcansaythatagainandagain · 26/06/2022 20:22

The Pretty Dress Co has some lovely dresses. Choose a v neck.
I have a similar bust to you and v necks are far more flattering.
