"Justkeeppedaling
Anne has hardly any grey hair and she's in her 70s. Lucky woman!"

Surely she must dye it?

I don't think she dyes it. There is some grey, just not a lot.

chesterelly1 · 16/06/2022 23:21

@justasking111 I'm hoping to go. Trying to get 2/3 nights in London booked around start of July. Wondering if there's any other frocks and rocks I should be checking out whilst there

StartupRepair · 16/06/2022 23:38

Absolutely love Sophie's dress. Thanks for the book title @justasking111 .

BeaLola · 17/06/2022 00:41

justasking111 I was supposed to be going tomorrow but had to change date - now going end June - really looking forward to it

Okay I forgot a comma, the book is getting exciting now I'll have to put it down soon or I'll never get up in the morning 🙈

Can you confirm what the title is? I just got confused, thanks.

When I Google, all that comes up is eyebrow loss! Thanks

I think what @justasking111 meant was she is currently reading the third book in the series, and she is raising her eyebrows at what the Bowes-Lyon family are getting up to! I'm not actually familiar with the series but the picture she posted shows a book by T. P. Fielden 😊 Hope you didn't stay up too late, justasking!

On the frocks front, I can completely see the duvet thing with Sophie's dress. Oddly, while I don't like the dress, I think she looks fabulous in it!

Ah! Many thanks, Susie! Well worked out. I'm quite interested in those books and couldn't trace that on.
I agree with you about Sophie - she's looking great!

I’m a name changer (Dutch Sapphire Tiara is mine 😉) and I think I shouldn’t be on these threads as I think Sophie looked fab yesterday!! Very Max 😁

Serenster · 17/06/2022 10:44

I liked both Zara and Sophie’s ensembles yesterday! Before you drum me out of the thread, I offer up Norwegian Princess Ingrid Alexandra’s formal 18th birthday portrait in penance. She’s wearing her late Aunt’s pearl and diamond tiara - not one I’d generally associate with a teenager but she has such poise that I think it looks good on her.

paradyning · 17/06/2022 10:47

Wonder if that's been gifted to her?

That would nice if so - the children of the King’s sister giving his granddaughter and future Queen their mother’s historic tiara as a birthday present. (They have no use for it - I think the family is based in Brazil?)

KillingMeDeftly · 17/06/2022 11:02

Ingrid already looks like a queen in waiting! I think she looks a lot like a young Queen Sonja and Märtha Louise.

It's worth noting that she's only heiress to the throne because Norway's changes to the laws around succession didn't apply retrospectively. Otherwise M-L would be queen eventually, and her eldest daughter after her. And we'd have Prince Shaman Durek as consort!

RockaLock · 17/06/2022 11:13

What a lovely photo. Hopefully we will be treated to lots of royal fashion over the next few years as all the European crown princesses get older!

Apparently the dress is one of Mette-Marit's.

And here they all are at a government dinner last night for her 18th.

Ingrid looks stunning there. She also reminds me a bit of CPV. I know they are cousins of sorts but I think it's more her poise.

The dark pink is lovely on M-L but I'm not so keen on the silver snaking around the neckline and waist - makes it look like something Joan Collins would've worn on Dynasty! M-M's dress is reminiscent of Kate's mustard Erdem and very much in her wheelhouse.

And HH and the Shaman scrub up all right don't they?

TeddyTed · 17/06/2022 12:24

Looks like we have more fashion coming up with Kate and William at Royal Ascot this afternoon…

NiqueNique · 17/06/2022 12:44

Ingrid has her very own tiara/diadem! 👑 It belonged to her great great grandmother, Princess Ingeborg of Sweden, who was the mother of King Harald’s mother, Crown Princess Mârtha of Norway. Märtha’s eldest daughter inherited it and it has now been given to Princess Ingrid by Harald’s younger sister, Princess Astrid.

NiqueNique · 17/06/2022 13:02

Oh just seen that @Serenster has already posted a (much better) photo showing the tiara. It’s fit for a coming Queen to wear, I think, even if it is rather mature - it’s a big deal since she’ll be the first Norwegian Queen so I suppose it also reflects her coming stature.

I like her dress, the shoes and the bag. All together a lovely fresh outfit for a young woman. She does look a lot like her grandmother and her mum!

It hadn’t occurred to me, but in this interview given recently to mark the Queen’s Jubilee, Queen Margrethe on Queen Elizabeth , Margrethe mentions that there are currently only two reigning Queens in the world - herself and HMQ.

Serenster · 17/06/2022 13:49

There will be loads in the next two generations! Victoria in Sweden with Estelle next line, Leonor in Spain, Ingrid Alexandra in Norway, Catherine Amalia in the Netherlands, Princess Elizabeth in Belgium (I think that’s it?) Denmark and the Uk look like the outliers with two or three men next in line.

KillingMeDeftly · 17/06/2022 13:54

Yes re the UK and Denmark @Serenster, plus little Jacques in Monaco. And of course the Japanese monarchy where women still can't be empress in their own right.

KillingMeDeftly · 17/06/2022 14:04

There's going to be an even bigger gala for Ingrid's birthday this evening with Max and Wax, Felipe and Letizia, CPV and CPF attending. Alas no CPM - perhaps she's opposed to birthdays that aren't her own!

dolphinsarentcommon · 17/06/2022 14:13

Love Kates look today (but I love a polka dot). Nice colour too

Her makeup is lovely too.

KillingMeDeftly · 17/06/2022 14:20

I wonder if Kate's wearing Alessandra Rich again? That seems to be her go-to for spotty dresses!

Royal Style - here's to 70 more years of frocks and rocks!
NiqueNique · 17/06/2022 14:36

How strange! MN didn’t show me @paradyning’s image earlier (or possibly it’s the fault of my ancient iPad) otherwise I wouldn’t have repeated what others have already said! Wonder if that’s why I hadn’t noticed @Serenster’s photo either! Ah well. It’s a lovely tiara in any case and suits her very well.

NiqueNique · 17/06/2022 14:42

Oh yes I love Kate’s outfit! I, too, love polka dots, and I like the hat very much as well- different enough from what she’s worn recently.
