they're even uglier in person and I think I might keep them...

I was after platform sandals to wear with black trousers that reach the floor.

Height and comfort are important to me, and it seems in this instance they might go above style. I haven't found anything that's at least 3" (around 7cm) height, that also offers this level of comfort. These sandals are seriously comfortable which I am not sure I'll get from other brands' offerings.

I came across them whilst considering the equally ugly Nike platform sandals: www.nike.com/gb/t/icon-classic-sandals-VNCTCn/DH0223-600

I don't know what I am asking for here. Save me from myself? Suggest more palatable options (same comfort and height please)? Opinions?

Get the trousers shortened.

heldinadream · 05/06/2022 08:13

Get the trouser hem taken up? If I've understood the problem correctly.

Stuckandinamess · 05/06/2022 09:23

Just don't. Please.

Yes to getting trousers shortened.

dudsville · 05/06/2022 09:25

They're they're whacky choices. I love it!

20YAYMAKINGNAHE · 05/06/2022 09:27

No I don't want my trousers shortened, I want that sort of look.

They both scream 'trendy' nan.

AuntieDolly · 05/06/2022 09:28

Someone on here suggested fitflop Eloise sandals - have you seen them?

passwordnotsecure · 05/06/2022 09:31

I think it's the colour that makes me wince. If they were black it wouldn't be an issue. Doc Marten or Fly do good platform sandals

HipsterCoffeeShop · 05/06/2022 09:33

I like the Nike ones. I might get a pair myself!

I really want a pair of the DM Voss Quad but they're sold out in my size.

Waxlyrically · 05/06/2022 09:41

I actually really like the first pair but I’m not a dainty shoe fan or fashionable

Amelion · 05/06/2022 09:43

I think it’s the colour that’s off.

How about something like these?

Shaka

Teva Sandals

tkwal · 05/06/2022 09:48

I prefer the first pair and think go for comfort, especially since they will be hidden by your trousers, which overall will have the appearance of lengthening your legs.Im not saying you NEED to keep them concealed by the way. Have seen similar being worn with pretty mid/maxi dresses

Purplecatshopaholic · 05/06/2022 10:00

I like the Nike ones - not seen them before. I agree the others are hideous but sometimes that works! For me it’s the colour of them, they might be more palatable in a different shade. Or maybe not….

RollOnWinter · 05/06/2022 10:02

bloody hell, they're very ugly. I'd get some WonderWeb stuff on the trouser hems and throw those ridiculous shoes in the bin

Savoretti · 05/06/2022 10:05

Not Geox no

LOVE THEM! But the espadrille wedge is a no no because they'd get ruined if I walk over somewhere even slightly wet, or get caught in rain. I notice that older styles came in plastic-like wedges which would have been perfect.

There are so many flatform sandals around, you really don't need to buy ones you think are hideous. Maybe start on ASOS and work your way from there. There's lots of flatform trainers around as well if you'd prefer that look.

ferretface · 05/06/2022 10:10

How about Doc Martens Blaire sandals?

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 05/06/2022 10:11

I like the first ones, the second Nike ones are awful!

florianfortescue · 05/06/2022 10:11

I actually love the first ones! Not so keen on the Nikes. But the Geox with a great pedicure ... I can see it looking fab with the right outfit.

Was just about to suggest same

Lesperance · 05/06/2022 10:16

Nike ones are awful, I like the first pair.

OnlyLosersTakeTheBus · 05/06/2022 10:18

Platforms and long hems are not a good mix. The first time you step on the back of the trousers with those clodhoppers you are going down like a baby gazelle. It won't be pretty.

And those first ones look like granny slippers on stilts.

Lunificent · 05/06/2022 10:23

If you are tall and gorgeous everything looks good on your feet.

mydemontoddler · 05/06/2022 10:27

Are they flares? I can't imagine why you'd wear long trousers with these. Platform sandals are everywhere so shouldn't be hard to find a less ugly pair.

I feel like I'm in the late 90's Grin
