M & S Summer Beauty Bag

I received an email this morning to say it’s out. It looks pretty good and is £25 (they say it’s worth £160) with a £30 spend on clothing. I have been meaning to buy some jeans for ages, so took the plunge. Anyone else?

Thinking about it but I don’t need any clothes or shoes. That doesn’t usually stop me but there is nothing I fancy in M&S right now

Fruitloopcowabunga · 31/05/2022 12:42

Yep, got it for the eye cream and facial mist but now thinking I shouldn't have because the rest probably won't get used. They got me at a weak moment!

declutteringmymind · 31/05/2022 13:48

I might get it as I need to but the next lot of uniform soon anyway.

BeaLola · 31/05/2022 13:55

Have bought as like more than one component inc the Avedscwhich I know is a bit marmite - I bought a slip skirt and dress

bellabride · 31/05/2022 17:42

I've ordered a light summer cotton jumper and a pair of knickers, so that I could get the Beauty Box: I think I'll enjoy trying everything that's in it.

lindyloo57 · 31/05/2022 17:45

I don't think I will bother this time, I have things to use up from last time, and a Christmas one to use up, I have 3 face mists I never use.

TullyApplebottom · 31/05/2022 17:48

I wish they’d included another aveda product. That botanical repair is helpless in the face of my frizz

Snoopsnoggysnog · 31/05/2022 17:48

I had it last year and it’s quite a few of the same products so I won’t bother this year but last year’s was lovely and I’m still using some of the products.

CMOTDibbler · 31/05/2022 17:49

I needed to buy the eye cream anyway, so it worked out well for me - thanks for the reminder

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 31/05/2022 17:50

I must be getting sensible or old because there didn't seem to be much I'd use, and I don't really need anything from M & S currently. Still using stuff from Liberty drop box.

Tinkletwat · 31/05/2022 17:53

Seriously, we need a specific cream for our upper arms now? https://www.marksandspencer.com/ageless-upper-arm-crme-110ml/p/hbp60569424?intid=mobileappppdpshare

(Ignore that I use an AHA moisturiser for my KP Grin). This is taking the pi$$.

Nothappyatwork · 31/05/2022 18:24

I enthusiastically bought one last year and I’ve got to be honest with you I’ve been very disappointed most of it I haven’t bothered to touch because you just wouldn’t Byatt yourself individually. It is a bit of a con to get rid of stuff that they can’t sell.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 31/05/2022 18:32

@Tinkletwat , because I am old, with old arms, I actually thought I'd like to give that a go! Although when I used the Pradai (sp?) neck cream out of an M & S advent calendar, I can't say I noticed a tremendous difference, and it's quite a pricey range.

Tinkletwat · 31/05/2022 18:49

@SpongeBobJudgeyPants I remember getting the neck cream and finding the product and the packaging like something from Young Enterprise! Saw the woman on QVC and had to laugh, she's raking it in on these nonsense products. I love skincare and make up but this is just something I'd never buy, the nail polish looks nice, I like nuxe, aveda etc. but a couple of years ago I realised how many things from these and advent calendars I had that I didn't use so now don't feel the pressure to continue to snap these up. Downside is I miss trying the odd new product. Enjoy it if you go for it.

pepperaunt · 31/05/2022 18:55

Still trying to use up products from the Christmas Liberty Advent calendar so no room in cupboard

LadyEloise1 · 31/05/2022 18:56

I bought the Prai décolletage cream.
No change in the appearance of my décolletage.
I won't rebuy

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 31/05/2022 19:02

@Tinkletwat I like trying the odd product, and tend to do a very stuffed advent calendar for grown up DD with the inevitable black eyeliners and unfortunately coloured nail varnishes etc that don't appeal! I'll be keeping half an eye on QVC from now on! @LadyEloise1 that must have been one of life's crushing disappointments...it was bad enough being underwhelmed via the advent calendar.

QueefofSheena · 31/05/2022 19:04

I’m not bothering this time as there isn’t anything I really want. Some of the previous Summer boxes have been really good, like the one with the lip balm in the stripy packaging that looked like an egg.

I thought the same when I saw that. Any improvement to upper arms could surely only come from the moisturising and massage 🙄

There is enough in there for it to be decent value for me though. I love Emma Hardie and This Works products. I was surprised how good the Autograph Colour Balm Shine. I would never have bought one, but received it in the Advent Tin. It will be nice to have another colour. I use the nail polish. The Nuxe's Huile Prodiguese Florale Multi-Purpose Dry Oil looks good and I’ll use it. The Origins' Ginzing Refreshing Eye Cream alone is worth £22 and I’ll use it, so all in all, really good value for me. 🙂

Yes! This was my favorite summer box and that lip balm is the absolute best. eOS grapefruit. I've bought it since from eBay as it's impossible to get anywhere else.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 01/06/2022 12:48

@kirkandpetal this is the curse of the boxes! Almost worse than getting something you don't want. I got introduced to a Percy & Reed product via an M & S box, that I didn't know I needed until then. Grin

IloveJudgeJudy · 01/06/2022 15:41

I've ordered it! It comes on Monday. I'll let you know what I think.

YorkieTheRabbit · 01/06/2022 15:51

I’ve ordered it this morning along with a shirred dress, got an extra 15% off with sparks too 😊
I’ve still got some things left over from my advent calendar, had a Next one this be last time. Non of the products in the bag are the same as what I’ve already got, so I’ll give t ago. I had one a couple of years ago, the Percy and Reed serum had leaked over everything else so M&S sent me another full bag.

Itsabeautifuldaytosavelives123 · 01/06/2022 16:02

Same old for me this year 🥱 this would be the third bottle of botanical aveda, same eye cream and wouldn’t use the rest. Even comes in the same bag as last summer

IloveJudgeJudy · 01/06/2022 19:50

Yes. I didn't get it for the last couple of years. I also gave the advent calendar a rest in 2020 but I liked the look of most of the products this time plus I'd run out of some, so... 🙂
