Is this too long for someone going on 30? I feel like long hair is more a teen thing these days and shorter hair has been embraced? How short should I take it?

Going on 30 is really young. Wear your hair how the hell you like!

As a PP said, I didn’t realise there was a curfew on long hair, I hope not anyway as I’m 52 and wear mine long. I’m not sure who makes these rules…

I didn’t know long hair was only for people under 30 🤣 where have you gotten this rule from? I can think of hundreds of over-30 celebs with long hair. Never heard this idea before

It’s gorgeous hair - looks in good condition. Chip it if you want to but you certainly don’t have to. I’ve 20 years on you and a similar length.

If you were 50 i'd be saying keep it long if you want to. but at 30?!

I’m 50. My hair has been waist length my whole life. I had it cut to the middle of my back a few weeks ago.

Ridiculous theory OP. This reminds me of the 70's and 80's where women seemed to chop their hair short after having kids. Perhaps do that and maybe even consider getting a perm! 😂

Your hair looks great, OP.

It doesn't look like a teen - as far as I can tell passing the school, there's a lot of identikit very straightened hair. Yours looks much nicer - freer, not remotely schoolgirl.

Mine is merely long shoulder length now I'm 61. I suppose I might gradually shorten it when I grow up.Grin

30 is so young OP. And thankfully, once you're in your 30s you start to stop caring what other people think. By 40 the transformation is complete. It's brilliant 😃

I had a crisis of confidence when I was 27. I thought I needed to look grown up, like all my clothes looked too young and I needed to be more professional and put together. It was utter rubbish, of course my style and preferences have changed over the years but it's a gradual process.

What an outdated view. Surprised anyone would even think of it, especially someone your age. You have lovely hair, wear it however you like.

God no! If you love it, keep it. There's no set rules that you need to cut your hair after a certain age. I'm turning 50 next year and my hair is the same length as yours

Don't be daft you can have long hair at any age! The only consideration is its condition.

Mine is somewhere between waist and bra strap length and I am in my 40s, at your age it was bum length! My sister has hers longer than ever before at 40, lots of my friends and colleagues have long hair.

Ah your hair looks lovely! I wouldn't chop it off. People pay to have long locks! I'm 29, and my hair is a very similar length and colour to yours if anything slightly lighter/ashier and I can't imagine ever getting it cut off. Sometimes I think short hair can actually age you (of course depending on the face/face shape of course - sometimes it doesn't!) but go with what your happy with, not anyone else Smile
