Ankle boots with this dress? Please help before I commit a style crime!

Bought this dress for a wedding
Will wear with a leather jacket on top and a nice All Saints belt. looks very cool on (according to DD who knows these things).

I need footwear. I cannot, cannot wear heels at all. Or open shoes due to ugly feet.
So thought about similar to the models (but i can't afford the All Saints ones!).

Would be grateful for advice before I go and spend £129.00 on a pair of Barbour tan coloured ankle boots from Pavers.

Sew the dress front onto the bra then unpick the stitches at the end of the day. It would probably work if you just did the corners. If you’re not planning on wearing a bra then use tape.

It might be my screen but if that is a grey-green as well as pink print, have a look at Joseph Seibel Sienna boots in Olive or in a tan.

Agree with a few stitches to sew bra and dress together. If you don't wear a bra then use double sided body tape to stick dress to skin

I think it looks great on you and you could wear white boots with it as the poster above suggested. I prefer them to high tops.

Don't think it was me you saw though, we didn't do anything over the pandemic but we're back out now, yay!

thanks also to the poster who suggested a couple of stitches to keep the bra attached to the dress. I have some very small safety pins but I'd worry the pins arent quite sharp enough to make a clean hole in the fabric.

It’s an informal wedding, so I think the dress will look absolutely fine with the boots you linked to and a leather jacket. All very Sienna Miller in her boho heyday in fact, which is absolutely perfect attire given you’re in the band too.

Not much to contribute except to say the dress definitely does look better on you than the model!

Well I maaayyy have linked to the wrong dress in the OP...I'm not especially short, 5'3" or so.

Anyway I bought the boots. I went and did it. I can always take them back if they look bad. If, on the other hand they look baaaaddd - I'll keep them 😎

Nope. Dress is too light and summery for boots, and certainly not tan ones. I don't like the ones the model is wearing at all.

I really like the boots you were going for originally. I hate having to go to a wedding or formal thing dressed as someone else! The original boots you chose give it a country vibe.

I've ordered these as well just in case so I've got more choice. High tops I can easily get if neither of the boots are nice on.
