I’ve seen similar much cheaper in Claire’s Accessories… she’ll never know!

OneRingToRuleThemAll · 17/05/2022 11:52

Of course she will know the difference between Tiffany and Clare's Accessories!!

Return to Tiffany is back in fashion now. My 14yo DD is desperate for a piece.

nearlyspringyay · 17/05/2022 11:53

Of course she'll know it's not Tiffany!!

Agree with the return to Tiffany being back in now.

julesover40 · 17/05/2022 11:55

We bought the double tag for my eldest daughter (20s) when she was 16 and she still wears it.
DD2 (15) now borrows some of my old Tiffany pieces, so may be investing again for her 16th.

Pattygonia · 17/05/2022 11:58

If you're not sure which to go for, I'd consider taking her to one of their stores and making a trip of it for her to decide.
My parents did something very similar for my 18th and I do have very fond memories of the whole trip to Regent street and the excitement of choosing (not Tiffany's but another smart jewellers)
There's a Tiffany is Covent Garden now as well as Bond Street - not sure where else. It does get v busy there though so I would pick a quiet time and really enjoy the experience.

MzHz · 17/05/2022 12:03

The double tag one is awful!

the open heart is an absolute classic.

spatchcock · 17/05/2022 12:04

Claire’s Accessories 😂

Are teens really wearing these?!

Mumwantingtogetitright · 17/05/2022 12:07

I don't think we can really answer that, OP. I have a 16yo dd and she has very distinct style preferences. I could probably pick out a special necklace that she would love, based on what she usually wears, but if I was spending that much, I would have to be pretty confident that it would suit her taste.

Motnight · 17/05/2022 12:15

Op I think that the first one is best. But would double check with your dd about her preference even if in a round about way! It will be lovely for her to get such a memorable present for her 16th birthday.

elephantmarchingin · 17/05/2022 12:22

I'd go for double tag as it shows it's defo a Tiffany one

mumonthehill · 17/05/2022 12:26

The heart was the first Tiffany necklace I was given and I still love it today. It is so understated but beautiful. I wear it often. I think it is a lovely gift and a blue box is something to treasure.

Absolutely the open heart ❤️
I got mine around age 16 and still wear it occasionally 20 years later. It holds so many memories for me.

Yes I wanted to do it this way but she’s in the middle of GCSEs - make an appointment, get my moneys worth on the experience etc.

I don’t like visible branding but I suspect at 16 she does …. !

I think that I will go for the double tag one and if she isn’t keen take her into the store during half term to exchange it. Best of both worlds.

A teen would prefer the tag one as its so obviously Tiffany's but by the time she's 21 she would kick herself for not going with the understated heart one.

MrsH497 · 17/05/2022 12:42

I've got the silver double tag (no coloured heart) and have my daughters initials engraved on the backs of them

These nothing Wrong with a cheaper Claire's equivalent but to say someone can't tell the difference when given one is ridiculous.

Abraxan · 17/05/2022 12:50

Dd has the blue return to Tiffany one and wears it daily.

Mercurial123 · 17/05/2022 12:51

If you are buying for the long term and something she will still be wearing in 10 years. I would go for the first one. It's a classic.

She’s 16, not 6. Of course she will know. Have you ever met a 16 year old?😬

ENoeuf · 17/05/2022 13:32

Bottom one amongst all the dd friends I've known (dd still wears hers early 20s) but maybe that makes it too popular?

First one is a bit too classic, the bottom one is much more modern.

icelollycraving · 17/05/2022 13:41

I bought the top style for my niece 20 years ago, it’s timeless.
I love the bottom one but I adore Tiffany blue.
Not helpful!

Quiets a lot of DD's friends have chosen variations of heart tag for their 21st birthdays.

MzHz · 17/05/2022 14:41

Investing.. it’s buying. 😂🤣
