That looks like Sophie's wearing a cake tin on her head!

The navy velvet on Sophie is lovely.

Diana with longer hair looks fabulous.
After she had Harry her hair was a little longer and lovelier for it.
The photos by Demarchelier with her short crop were fabulous too. At one stage she had quite a "mumsy" hairstyle which I disliked.

@LadyEloise1 Yes I agree - her longer hair around the time of Harry’s babyhood was really lovely and other than that the portrait of her hair slicked back is my favourite style she wore.

@KillingMeDeftly I thought Sophie’s hat looked far too big and now that you’ve said it, it really does look like a cake tin!! 😆 I liked Sophie’s velvet outfit a lot and Louise’s too - the hat suited her very nicely.

Meghan looks good in that casual white shirt - it suits her colouring. I like the jacket and shorts combo too, casual chic.
I like Sophie's velvet but agree the hat is just a tad large.

Someone upthread mentioned Her Maj's dresser/companion Angela Kelly. I am currently reading her book, 'The other side of the coin'. Am loving the insight into her work and her relationship with the queen.

Oh yes I could see that being a very interesting book!

The Queen looked lovely in her outfit, watching the Jubilee Celebration the other evening! I really liked the cape with the little bit of bling. It was nice to see her enjoying herself and engaging with the performance.

Another one who loves Meghan in casual wear!

Zara is another one who looks best in casual and sporty clothes. She always looks too trussed up on dressy occasions.

It's Maxima's 51st so the Dutch royal Insta has a new portrait. But don't tell CPM - she'll be wildly jealous that anyone other than her is celebrating a birthday!

Can we agree to differ re the Queen's outfit. I thought it was the only misstep Angela K has made. I thought the grey wasn't a great colour on her. The embellished shawl was a great idea - obviously fur is a no no nowadays - and it would get chilly- but I think a pale blue , matching the dress would be nicer.
It's the first time in recent years I thought her outfit wasn't great.

Max looks super - as always. She is such an asset to the King.

I sometimes look at the royals on their walkabouts and wonder have they left their home hissing at each other - fairly normal occasionally I should think and them it's all sweetness and light for the public.

That was a lovely outfit on HMQ, and it was great to see her looking so well too.

I really hate yellow and purple together though, so it's a shame (to my eyes, anyway) that it clashed with the Elizabeth Line colouring!

HM looks great - that colour is so bright and cheerful and she looks so happy.
I think the colours go, but then again I like colour and would totally wear those shades together! I'm so glad that she was able to open the Elizabeth line.
