What do you think about this Boden dress?

For reference, I'm 35 with a toddler and a small baby.

This would be my first Boden dress and they are not cheap.

My husband said it looks beautiful and classy, but I'm worried that it just looks great on the model. This would be my first Boden dress and they are not cheap.

Just order it and try it on. If you don’t like it return it. I know I would look terrible in that dress as I have a big bust and anything high neck just does not work.

Flopisfatteningbingforchristmas · 30/04/2022 11:15

My worry would be it will instantly be covered in toddler goo.

It's beautiful (so I agree with your dh), but it would look dreadful on me as my boobs are too big.

Sunnyshoeshine · 30/04/2022 11:17

Don't ever buy anything from Boden full price! There are some Boden resale facebook groups and often 20% off codes are shared. Have a look before buying. Might make it a bit less painful!

GiltEdges · 30/04/2022 11:17

Suspect that it might look quite frumpy on the average person, but if you're fairly tall/willowy it could work.

I have relatively small boobs ( b cup)

Thanks for the tip. Almost 100 pounds on a dress is hefty especially since I'm on maternity leave.

Presumably you’d be wearing it far away from the spill and stain propensities of small children?

I dunno, OP. What do you like about it? Not us, not your husband - you

Current 20% off code S5Y9

I love it but it's more of a going out dress than an everyday dress, especially if you have toddlers. The reviews also say it's a very heavy fabric, which is great for draping and shape, but not so much for washing and wearing - plus the ironing 😱. It would be a yes from me if you have staff!

Whitney168 · 30/04/2022 11:22

I love it - love the ecru if it's for going out, but depending on what you want it for the denim version might be more everyday?

skgnome · 30/04/2022 11:23

Depends on your body type
its a beautiful dress… you will never know until you try it on

TabithaTittlemouse · 30/04/2022 11:25

I really like it. Try it!

This. Never ever buy Boden full price. They have constant discounts. I have my eye on a dress I desperately want but biding my time for a discount. My philosophy is if it sells out before being discounted it wasn't meant to be but it very rarely happens.

I like the material (98 % cotton) and white/light colors look good on my skin. I also like the cut and it's so hard to find a dress that doesn't contain polyester.

That dress is lovely. There is a discount code for 20 percent off - GTPT works, I just tried it. Not buying just like a discount 😀

hopeishere · 30/04/2022 11:31

What size / height are you? I would look like a sack of spuds with a belt on but a talker slimmer persons would look great.

Boden quality has definitely declined.

Eightiesfan · 30/04/2022 11:34

It’s beautiful and as long s you are not too busty it will look lovely, if you are big busted it will make your boobs look like a parcel shelf!

SoManyTshirts · 30/04/2022 11:35

I love it, and I’ve resisted Boden so far … weakening …

Silkierabbit · 30/04/2022 11:57

I really liked this dress though was a little concerned by garment measurements that it might look light a tent. Find Boden sizing on the large size and even when you get the things to me it seems they are bigger than the measurements state they are. I would get it with a discount code and see what it looks like. Would say be more likely to look good if are tall and thin though most things do. You could also wait for it to go in sale as most things do. The trouble is their sizing varies a lot between items so it can be hard to know what size to order.

CrunchyCarrot · 30/04/2022 11:59

I'd say you need to be really slim to wear it. The front tie will emphasise any 'tummy' you may have. The high neckline isn't good if you have big boobs. The colour is an issue (for me) as it would inevitably get a stain on it somewhere!

woodhill · 30/04/2022 12:00

It's lovely OP but not on me with boobs

woodhill · 30/04/2022 12:01

Plus it is cotton

MrsWateringcan · 30/04/2022 12:02

Uniqlo have some similar things which are cheaper and still cotton, eg
