I think these are an absolute find. Barely worn and £20! Always wanted a pair of ‘nice’ flats but never thought they’d be designer. What do you think?

Any other charity shop bargain stories to share?

Oooooooooh
Envy <- envy

Where did you get them!?

OrinocoGlow · 29/04/2022 12:26

Excellent find! Lucky you.

OutofDepth1000 · 29/04/2022 12:28

Local Banardos, I often donate things there and these beauties caught my eye…..pay day too so would have been rude to not ‘adopt’ them 😆😆

Ooh very nice! What a find!
You have a good eye OP

I used to visit a very nice Barnardo's but don't work in that town any more. The local one isn't half as good.Sad Our local Cancer Research has some bargains but not in the Jimmy Choo league!

muckandnettles · 29/04/2022 12:37

I bought a John Lewis bright blue oversized leather tote (pink inside!) this week from charity shop for £12. Looks unused and it's just lovely.

Alarae · 29/04/2022 12:55

I just picked up a Melissa and Doug wooden house (the one with keys and dolls) for £6.50 this morning, which is great as I've been looking at this ages ago but didn't buy it as it's expensive at full price.

AngelinaFibres · 29/04/2022 13:00

My mum bought a beautiful teal velvet back pack yesterday from a charity shop in Malvern. Gorgeous

OutofDepth1000 · 29/04/2022 13:02

Loving the finds, isn’t a boost when you get something you’ve wanted and it doesn’t cost a fortune and goes to a good cause. I still can’t get over that they were in my size!

Maflingo · 29/04/2022 13:04

Ohh how lucky, I’d would have loved to have spotted those in my size too! Xx

RedWreck · 29/04/2022 13:06

Wow, they're amazing! I got a pair of lovely Mint Velvet jeans for £1 once.

OutofDepth1000 · 29/04/2022 13:07

Mint velvet jeans for £1! That’s amazing, aren’t they normally around £100?

I'll never beat the silk dress by Dries van Noten I got for £6.50 in Cancer Research. I looked up similar by her and they were £750+ 😍

We also bought a pair of large, beautifully framed prints from a local shop for £90 each - I looked up the artist online and it turned out her prints sell for around £800 each

greenbirdsong · 29/04/2022 13:13

I love charity shop bargains.

I got an amazing Coast wedding guest dress with matching shawl and hat for £5!
Would have been about £150 new I think.

My mum bought the hat for my wedding from a charity shop for a pound!

Maydaysoonenough · 29/04/2022 13:22

Yabu unless your name is Mary Poppins..

OutofDepth1000 · 29/04/2022 13:23

It’s such a buzz getting these little bargains!

In recent times some of the shops have really started to hike up prices, I get it as it is for charity etc but part of the pull to pop into the shops (other than donating) is getting a wee bargain. It’s good that there are still some that are ‘old school’ 😆

We moved from a boat to a house first week of lockdown 2020. All the shops were shut so furnished the house from Facebook marketplace. My Best Buy was two matching m&s leather sofas, two years old, in perfect condition for £100.

Now I’m hooked on looking on market place before I buy anything. I’ve saved thousands of pounds on good quality furniture.

PrettyGirlsMakeGravy · 29/04/2022 13:59

Ooh nice, OP!

I've had a few Mulberry bags from chazzas for between £5 and £15. Definitely genuine - I used to sell Mulberry (and other designer) bags so I know how to spot a fake from a hundred paces!

Also a fabulous SportMax black wool coat for £3, a vintage Dior top for £1 and lots of other brilliant finds. I love a charity shop trawl!

countvoncount · 29/04/2022 14:16

Wow I appreciate!! Brilliant find bravo!!!

lastandfurious · 29/04/2022 17:13

Oooh nice, I love a charity shop bargain and get very upset that my family don't share my enthusiasm! Currently sat here in my very nice Toast jumper that cost £2. Also found a new looking pair of Craghopper trousers (£2) and Zara work trousers (50p) in my very local and very unassuming charity shop that does half price on a Wednesday.

OutofDepth1000 · 29/04/2022 17:31

Oh, I’m loving all of these bargains and slightly envious of some of your amazing hauls!

I could see a new hobby starting 😆

Where are these magical shops where nobody knows how to read a label?

These ones round here would price a pair of Primark shoes retailing at £4 brand new for nearly a tenner and a brand like that wouldn't even make it to the shelves even if I think the only thing missing from those is a set of velvet M&S knickerbockers from circa 1983

Got mine before Xmas for £3 😜

KirstenBlest · 29/04/2022 17:56

I rarely buy new. Have seen Jimmy Choo, MiuMiu, Armani etc in Charity Shops.
Often get designer items for as little as £1.

One bad thing is that I have been known to buy things not in my size because they were such bargains. I have some happy family members.
