<Waves to @Chevyimpala67 > 😉😁

SOTD was Miss Dior Originale.

SOTN is Ambre Orient. I'm so tired I can barely think. 😴

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 09/06/2022 22:53

SOTD Heeley Sel Marin. Then SOTE JM Wild Bluebell. I’m glad I got this on eBay because it is very fleeting - I’m probably about 80% taste/smell back now.

Morning perfume lovers!

Has anyone been to the Perfume Museum in Paris? I was in Paris during half term but didn't get time to go and regret it.

I bought a 10ml bottle of Kayali Vanilla from cult beauty thanks to your recommendations so that will be my SOTD!

Hello 👋.
Oh, wow Paris, how lovely. No I haven't been to the perfume museum.
Glad you like the kayali vanilla! :)

Chevyimpala67 · 10/06/2022 07:07

Its bright and sunny here today 😎
So sotd will be something light...probably 4160tuesdays SSOTPE
Ds1 is off to his first music festival today. I'm a bit discombobulated 🙃

CorneliaStreet · 10/06/2022 11:57

I'm trying out Karen Timson Hermia today. It is really lovely, starts out fresh and a bit herbal and then settles down to something more woody. I'm rubbish at picking out notes and it seems really well-blended to me, but the website says the top notes are basil, green mandarin and neroli, the heart is pink pepper, blackcurrant bud and boxwood and the base is oakmoss, vetiver, benzoin, cedarwood and amber. I really like this, it seems somehow natural and sophisticated at the same time. The longevity is good too - I put it on first thing and it's still going strong.

Chevyimpala67 · 10/06/2022 13:02

I've ordered samples of chloe nomade and montale intense cafe

Mrcpy · 10/06/2022 14:15

SOTD Chanel 22
It’s a sample that they gave me when I bought Gardenia. I didn’t like it as much in the store, but today I’ve fallen in love with it. Working from home and have sprayed WAY too much of it on myself 😍

FestivelyScent · 10/06/2022 23:05

Supernatural was such a popular show with a very devoted following; I was so surprised when they announced the series would end.

The Osmotheque is meant to be absolutely amazing - a place where you can smell recreations of many iconic discontinued perfumes. I just wish they would open a perfume museum here in the UK. I'm sure it would be both popular and educational. Somewhere like the V&A would surely be a very appropriate place for a permanent perfume exhibition.

SOTD is Angel's Share.

Chevyimpala67 · 11/06/2022 06:08

@FestivelyScent it really was! But I think after 15 seasons the actors had had enough.
I do sometimes find myself wondering what Dean would smell like 😜🤣 but I'm not sure he'd have been interested in fragrance!
Sam would wear something pointless and vapid like CKOne! 🙄
Castiel would smell like marshmallow and vanilla 😋
I'm awake at stupid o'clock clock yet again. Sigh.
The holiday we were going on in 4 weeks was cancelled by the property owner yesterday...
We've managed to get another property for the same area, same week but its £400 more :(
Sigh.

FestivelyScent · 11/06/2022 12:24

@Chevyimpala67 I think Dean would have used whatever his father wore, something old-school and woody. But you're right, he probably didn't give it much thought. And I agree about Sam and Castiel! 😁

Yeah...old spice or brut 🙂💙

I think about stuff like this far too much! 😵‍💫🤣🤣

MissBattleaxe · 11/06/2022 12:40

@CorneliaStreet I'm so glad to hear you love the Karen Timson one! She hasn't made many, but she makes them really, really well.

MissBattleaxe · 11/06/2022 12:42

SOTD 4160 Tuesdays Sex Goddess. Just beautiful. Woody vanilla and slightly peachy and just chef's kiss

Chevyimpala67 · 11/06/2022 19:51

Sotd 4160tuesdays lemon sherbert

Sote kayali vanilla

Alienbigcat45 · 11/06/2022 20:28

SOTD is the Eden dupe of Gucci Envy as recommended by a kind perfumista on S&B

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 11/06/2022 22:51

Was that me, I wonder? I've recommended it on S&B a couple of times. If so, glad you like it too!

@Mrcpy I haven't smelled Chanel No. 22 but I think I'd like it. It's on my list to try, along with so many others... and I'd love to go to Paris and visit the Perfume Museum and the Osmotheque.

SOTD Fluffy Lemon Top.

No 22 is very similar to no 5. I’m not great at describing scents - but - it feels more complex. I didn’t know about the perfume museum but it sounds like a great place!

RedlobsterJones · 12/06/2022 07:38

The Osmotheque in Versailles sounds fab, Festivelyscent. We were on the metro and saw posters for the museum of perfume in Paris but unfortunately didn't have time to go there.

Quick question: what do you do with perfumes you don't dislike but don't love? Sell, keep or use as room sprays? I have 8-12 blind buys that I don't love but spray on sometimes 'to use them up!' Which feels like the equivalent of forcing yourself to finish your plate of food when you didn't want to to please your parents (child of the 80s here!).

Good question!
If I don’t like something straight away I’ll put it to the side and try it again occasionally to see if I might like it on a different day - sometimes I do!
If I still feel meh about it then I let it languish at the back of my drawer. Not sure about selling opened perfumes online as I suspect it may be more trouble than it’s worth.

Depends...
If its a cheapie I'll give away
If it was £££ I'll re-sell
If I REALLY hate it it goes in the bin! 😃

Cantonet · 12/06/2022 09:00

I sell my perfumes on.
As I really am fickle.
Either on Facebook perfume sites or eBay. Sometimes they take ages to sell on eBay but they do eventually. It automatically relists them every month, as I don't bother with the auctions.
Sotd is discontinued Fleur Du Matin.
I still love this as much as ever.
I'm trying to find a similar one in Lyn Harris's other perfumes but I haven't succeeded yet.
