Pink wedding dress?

Thanks in advance!
I'm getting married in Feb next year. I'm not keen on the traditional wedding gown, but similarly, having just had my second baby, I don't think (sadly) a more traditional slim fitting dress would suit either. I love the idea of a blush or pink dress. I've found this one online; the designer has offered to custom make it with a train and without the sleeves (or with different sleeves). But it's a risk ordering online without seeing it. What does everyone think?
I'm debating between traditional - as hopefully only a bride once.. or pink and fun. If pink, sleeveless or Bardot? Ruffle to bottom or plain? (With train). Help!

I love it! I am biased though as having a dress with blush/pink tones myself when I get married in August (hopefully the attachment will work!). I'd say follow your heart!

Yes love it (without the sleeves). Do it!

diege · 17/04/2022 16:43

I actually adore the sleeves !

hopeishere · 17/04/2022 16:44

My cousin had a pink dress and it was gorgeous! Go for it!!

Guineapiggiesmalls · 17/04/2022 16:44

Love it! Go for it, it’s gorgeous (I’d keep the sleeves too, they’re amazing)

PurpleDaisies · 17/04/2022 16:45

I don’t like it-it’s the particular shade of pink that’s too Barbie like for me. I’d love it, you should go for it though. I’d ask for a sample of the material so you’re definitely happy with the colour.

sammielouise · 17/04/2022 16:51

Thanks everyone! Do you think a train would look too much with the ruffle at the bottom? I still want to look bridal and not prom dress...

One option could be for a long veil instead of a train.

I considered this, but wasn't sure if a veil would look ok!

I love it. With or without sleeves. I would be wary of the actual shade of pink bc if its just that little bit too close to bubblegum it would spoil it for me -that would be my concern ordering online.
Think a train would look fab.
Veil would need to be palest pink rather than white which would look harsh.
Choose flowers with lots of dark green leaves.
Congrats!

You should be wary of not seeing the fabric before ordering. That pink look too … in danger of resembling Rachel when she went to Barry and Mindys wedding.

There are lots of alternative coloured wedding dresses though, in lots of different pinks and blushes if that's what you've settled on. Blush has been a big trend in the last few years.

Oh you're right!! I think I'm going to see if I can order the off the rack dress just to see style etc.

My dress was a very pale blue. Looked white until up close. Pale blue and sparkly. I loved how different it was from everyone else’s sleeveless wedding dresses of the time (early noughties)

SillySallySassySausage · 17/04/2022 17:16

You shouldn't be put off if YOU like it, but asking for a fabric swatch is definitely a good idea as a screen is no match for seeing something in real life. Surely a good designer should happily send you one.

If you like the style, what about investigating if it can be made in other colours or fabrics?

Sweepingeyelashes · 17/04/2022 17:17

I think it's a beautiful model and photograph. I am not so keen on the actual dress - particularly the flouncy bit at the bottom. I think it might be underwhelming in real life.

Aquamarine1029 · 17/04/2022 17:18

I absolutely love pink wedding dresses, but I'm not crazy about the one in your picture. Something about that shade of pink is just not "it", imo. It looks too bridesmaisdy.

LookItsMeAgain · 17/04/2022 17:18

There is something about the bottom part of the dress that is very distracting to the eye. I don't know if it's because it's in pink or not but I think if you could get this gown in blush it would be very similar to the one in your picture but the clean lines are so much nicer (sorry. I hate dissing a dress that someone else likes).

Go for it! Mine was blush pink and sparkly and I loved it!

No it's fine! I'm debating asking for the ruffle bit to be removed, but then will it be too bridesmaidy. Uh maybe should stick to traditional!

Ruffle is a bit overgrown toddler. Go for a train without ruffle.

Sickoffamilydrama · 17/04/2022 17:25

I had a kind of dirty pink dress and really didn't like any white/cream wedding dress so I'm biased is you like it go for it.

Aquamarine1029 · 17/04/2022 17:42

I just googled pink wedding dresses... There are so many and they are so lovely! If my daughter ever has a wedding, I hope she chooses pink so I can live vicariously through her. 😍

I know!! Problem is I'm on a budget or I'd be in my element. I'm edging towards seeing if I can get a sample, then if right colour, no ruffle and train! Maybe off shoulder sleeves? 😊

Make sure you see a fabric swatch, check out other work from the same maker, see what the real brides looked like.
