Best tubing mascara?

I really rated the No7 Stay Perfect tubing mascara in the gold tube- it was subtle but it absolutely did not budge or smudge in any way at all and was a proper tubing mascara- I could see the little tubes on cotton pads when I'd removed with warm water.

Not only have they changed the packaging but they have changed the formula and it is now absolutely awful. Not like a tubing mascara any more, it smudges and flakes, it's a horrible consistency, the brush is terrible. Just awful.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a really good tubing mascara?

I’m in the same boat with No7- and hate the new old-fashioned packaging. Following for good replacement ideas…

It's expensive but the Hourglass one is good

NotTheOW · 13/04/2022 20:39

These are my faves :
Clinique lash power
Mac extended play gigablack
Hourglass unlocked

I've also tried the Kevin Aucoin one and the packaging was awful.

It's on sale at SpaceNK if that's helpful

Soap and Glory thick and fast high definition (in a gold tube). And it's in a 3 for £20 at boots online just now. I may need to stock up...

OverByYer · 13/04/2022 20:44

Wtf? I was coming in to say No7, and I find this? I’ve been using this mascara forever. Am gutted.

Wagsandclaws · 13/04/2022 20:45

Chantecaille, also expensive but the best tubing mascara I've found and it has lash growth serum in it.

kittybloom · 13/04/2022 20:47

I love tubing mascaras! I used to swear by Blink and Kevin Aucoin but I’ve felt these products dried up more easily than in the past. I’d still use KA though.

I’m currently using eyeko and MAC extended play gigablack via LookFantastic website which generally has good discounts.

DobbleDobble · 13/04/2022 20:49

Clinique lash power, I’ve tried all the ones above and still come back to it.

The site all beauty . Com is cheapest too.

ShortShinyBobbafett · 13/04/2022 20:50

Not sure it is tubing but I have switched from No7 Stay Perfect to L'Oreal Paris Volume Million Lashes Mascara Black - it is fine.

I was gutted when Boots changed, even more so because I bought two mascaras in the new packaging on a deal and they are truly shite.

Hohumfeelingglum · 13/04/2022 20:56

I've never heard of tubing mascara, you've just opened up a whole new world to me! I love the brush on the benefit they're real mascara though, I wonder if I could find a tubing mascara with a similar brush?

BellatrixLeNotStrangeAtAll · 13/04/2022 20:58

Thank you all- interested in all of these- would love to try the Hourglass one. Have heard good things (probably on here years ago!) about Clinique Lash Power. But Soap & Glory sounds brilliant value.

@ShortShinyBobbafett I'm the same- I bought two in an offer and the new formula is truly one of the worst mascaras I have ever used. I remember cheap 17 ones as a teenager 20 years ago that were far better! Really cross with boots for ruining what was such a good product- just why?!

I've used Lash Power for years. I've deviated to Benefit and Charlotte Tilbury but always come back to Clinique Lash Power. It's fab!

Does it work? It's £50 something and thats with a 20% discount code!

Victoria Beckham or Chantecaille - both are fantastic.

ShortShinyBobbafett · 13/04/2022 21:27

Wow 😮 that’s expensive. I bin my mascara every three months. A friend nearly lost her sight in one eye a couple of years ago due to a bacterial infection and I’ve never forgotten the advice given to her.

WashableVelvet · 13/04/2022 21:30

L’Oréal beauty tubes - weird name but works a treat!

I think they should put a warning on the tubes tbh
BellatrixLeNotStrangeAtAll · 13/04/2022 22:04

Yes I like to change mascara frequently too due to worrying about infections... and tbh cannot bring myself to spend over £50 on mascara!

This is why I'm so cross with boots. No7 was a really good mascara at a good price. Used to love being able to use the vouchers to get £3 off as well!

Clinique lash power, tried so many, but always come back to this! (Clinique's Full to Flutter was even better but they discontinued it)

jugglerofballs · 13/04/2022 22:22

Another vote for Clinique lash power

I like this one as it also comes in brown (well it used to anyway)
catfunk · 13/04/2022 22:41

I'm an expert at this - I've only worn tubing for years.

maybelline Snapscara is good value as it's super cheap and works well. Nice shaped brush.

L'Oréal double extension (red and white tube) is great for special occasions - it's a bit much for everyday wear for me though. I wear it for events/ nights out.

Estée Lauder double wear with the gold lid is great, doesn't go clumpy and lasts a long time.

Agree with the no 7. I look like I have no mascara on (in a bad way) and miss the gold packaging!

I haven't tried the Clinique mentioned above !

Useranon1 · 14/04/2022 00:35

I find the Estée Lauder gold lid one flakes everywhere so it might as well smudge! Going to try Clinique next

Intheinterestsoffairness · 14/04/2022 00:41

Bugger. It's the best mascara I've ever used. Last year someone on here said it was being discontinued so I bought 6 Blush They've nearly run out now. Why do companies fiddle about with successful products?
