I bloody love dungarees and treated myself to these yesterday from joules.
I’m 5’7 and size 14.
Are these dungarees too short?? Do I look ridiculous? They are so comfy and I love them… but equally don’t want to look terrible!

@CambsAlways

I think you look like a children’s presenter sorry !
And? Why is that bad?

It's a personal choice, but as you asked.. I think they are not suitable at all. Unless you're presenting a children's TV show or similar.

SirChenjins · 07/04/2022 12:15

The dungarees are not too bad but the shoes and shoe ribbons do make you look like a children’s entertainer - which is fine if that’s the look you’re going for obviously. I’d go with some of the other style suggestions on here and they’ll look great Smile

Mercurial123 · 07/04/2022 12:20

The style isn't very flattering and maybe size up.

Patchbatch · 07/04/2022 12:24

@Mercurial123

The style isn't very flattering and maybe size up.
Why, they fit fine not everything has to be super baggy.
BattledoreAndShuttlecock · 07/04/2022 12:26

I like them but not with those boots

Mercurial123 · 07/04/2022 12:27

I didn't say they needed to be baggy. In MY opinion sizing up would look better. You think they fit fine I disagree.

CurlyBurley · 07/04/2022 12:28

I like the dungarees but not the boots. Sorry, I know you weren't asking about the boots!

KirstenBlest · 07/04/2022 12:29

What do children's tv presenters wear?
www.theguardian.com/culture/gallery/2011/jan/30/ten-best-childrens-tv-presenters

Did a quick google, thinking I'd see all manner of dungarees and boilersuits but apart from Rainbow's Geoffrey no joy.

Mr Hayes hasn't been presenting Rainbow for 30 years.

JaneJeffer · 07/04/2022 12:58

I don't like them. The waistline seems to be in the wrong place for your shape and the bib is too narrow.

FrMaguire · 07/04/2022 13:02

I also think they look a size too small. Dungarees can be fitted, but those don't look fitted; they look too small!

RampantIvy · 07/04/2022 13:15

@EmmaGrundyForPM

I'd actually roll them up a bit more and wear trainers with no socks.
In this weather Shock
SocksAndTheCity · 07/04/2022 13:25

Too small IMO. And they don't go with the boots.

FeelTheRush · 07/04/2022 13:33

Overall the outfit has too many colours I think - they’d work better with a plain gray t T-shirt and white trainers.

Christmas1988 · 07/04/2022 13:36

I like the dungarees I think the bottom of the legs looks a bit funny but I’d put that down to the way they have been ironed in the factory, once they’ve been washed a few times the shape will hang better at the bottom.

ofwarren · 07/04/2022 13:39

I think you look lovely

merrilysang · 07/04/2022 13:55

Geoffrey Hayes is sadly no longer with us. Did he wear dungarees or was that the musical trio.

Laughing at the 'Gok Wan' comment and all the conflicting advice Grin Confusing for the OP. There's lots of dungarees around at the moment, I saw some colourful Lucy and Yak dungarees earlier. You look fine.

KirstenBlest · 07/04/2022 14:01

I believe he might have done

Yes, I agree, I don't like them with your boots but they're great.
CakeAmbushAlert · 07/04/2022 14:27

If you love them I'd save them for around the house. You look like an oversized toddler or the type of person who goes round saying 'Eeeh I'm mad me'. Sorry OP but that's what I see.

Comeoninandclosethedoor · 07/04/2022 14:30

@JaneJeffer

Yes I think the waist line is definitely in the wrong place!
GeneLovesJezebel · 07/04/2022 14:32

Yes they’re short, but they look like they are meant to be. And they’ll look cropped for the summer.

Comeoninandclosethedoor · 07/04/2022 14:32

Sorry meant to add that I am sure there are more flattering styles out there that would complement your lovely figure much better!

merrilysang · 07/04/2022 14:33

@KirstenBlest 🤣. That's brilliant. Those dungarees wouldn't look out of place on the high street now.
