There’s the first one….

gluenotsoup · 29/03/2022 17:19

And the second….
Lots of nice style today, I particularly like the cut of Leti’s outfit, and she’s also in green. Kate looked elegant, I think the hat was a tad big. Lady Louise looked very nice, and suddenly a young woman rather than unsure teenager. Eug looked nice too, and I love Beas hat. Mad eyed Freddie looks more like wills than ever, and his wife looked beautiful in Catherine Walker. Penny Romsey, always elegant. Max - love the cape.
HMQ- a brooch given as a gift by Philip, and the green and aubergine colours look lovely. She did well today, it must have been a huge strain.

Alwayscheerful · 29/03/2022 17:21

Yes Kate's hat reminds me of this photo.

Eaumyword · 29/03/2022 17:57

Not seen all the photos, but I thought Kate looked amazingly elegant, as did Max and Leti. I liked Cam's outfit and HMQ looked lovely.

KillingMeDeftly · 29/03/2022 18:18

As I suspected, Kate's dress was Alessandra Rich.

Leti looked good in green today. I think she has the same (coat?)dress in blue. And Max looked fab in her cape!

Maireas · 29/03/2022 18:20

It was so nice to see HM there, standing and walking ok, it was such a significant occasion. That she, Camilla, Anne (and Leti!) wore Edinburgh green was a nice touch. I thought that Kate looked very elegant - not a coatdress! Very chic. I liked Sophie's outfit and Beatrice's dress as well. It's good that George and Charlotte went, getting them used to formal events. Max looking good.

I love everything Sarah Chatto wears - she always gets her sleeve lengths just right.

I liked what Charlotte was wearing - it seemed less dead victorian child and more elegant spanish look for children.

Love Penny Mountbatten's look too. Also I don't think she is very nice but I thought Princess Michael of Kent looked elegant.

KillingMeDeftly · 29/03/2022 19:00

Beatrice was wearing a gorgeous pair of burgundy velvet Mary Janes. She and Eugenie usually give good shoe! Louise looked nice too and for a change wasn't dressed like she was middle-aged, but what on earth did Sophie have on her head? She looked a bit Flying Nun!

Becles · 29/03/2022 19:12

I must be alone in disliking Katie's dress. Weird round the boobs and the hat is far too big for the type of occasion.

KillingMeDeftly · 29/03/2022 19:14

@Becles I quite like the hat but can take or leave the dress.

LadyEloise1 · 29/03/2022 19:17

Our tastes are so different. I disliked Beatrice's clumpy shoes.
Kate looked so elegant.

paradyning · 29/03/2022 19:29

This was Sophie for me

susiebluebell · 29/03/2022 19:38

Thanks for the welcome @Eaumyword and @paradyning! And I've had a think about a tiara @Runningupthecurtains but it might need a bit more research. A lot of the good ones have already been taken!

Maireas · 29/03/2022 19:46

I read that Princess Alexandra and the Duchess of Kent were unable to attend. I hope they're not too unwell or frail. I know that Alexandra was a good friend and (like her brothers) a relative by blood as well as marriage, so that's a shame.

Wax needs a suit intervention. Needs to go the way of Edward’s double breasted suits.

Quite liked Kate’s dress, reminded me of a guest from H&M wedding.

Leti, Max and the European gang nailed it. Except for Marie Chantal of Greece.

More about the foreign royals here, from Monaco to Romania to Serbia! Good representation from the crowned (or ex crowned) heads of Europe! Mathilde looks very elegant.

Yes, true about MC, plus, what's with Pavlos' facial hair? All going a bit Kaiser.

Weren't there rumours Alexandra and Philip were more than just good friends? Same for Penny Mountbatten.

Not sure there was anything in either story though.

Yes, Abigail Spencer (no relation to Diana!) has a similar dress in navy, as does Kate herself.

Whitney168 · 29/03/2022 21:20

Special mention to Sophie’s velvet coat too, beautiful.

BeaLola · 29/03/2022 21:38

I thought Max, Leti and Camilla all looked lovely as well as Kate (though unsure re hat) , Sophie (definitely not the hat !) , Louise , Eugenie - best look for ages, Beatrice fab shoes - outfit looked big on her , but Sarah Chatto - lovely and elegant as always - cardigan rules !

And The Queen - simply got it perfect - she is amazing

Eaumyword · 29/03/2022 21:41

Penny Mountbatten/Romsey/Knatchbull looked very elegant.
I kind of think there might have been something in it with Philip. It was accepted in aristocratic circles to be married and have dalliances-as long as everyone kept quiet and nobody wanted to leave their spouse for the affair partner. The reason it tended to take place was that for financial issues/the crown/hereditary line etc, divorce wouldn't be an option, so this helped the marriage tick along. Odd to most of us, but then we generally have the ability to separate/divorce if we need to.
They had the family connection in common, plus carriage driving and she'd put up with a lot from her husband, plus had so much tragedy in her life. It wouldn't surprise me.

Eaumyword · 29/03/2022 21:42

Ooh what happened?! I didn't misbehave!ShockConfused

MotherofPearl · 29/03/2022 22:07

Goodness Eau, what did you say?! Hopefully you didn't divulge details about our various heist plans? Wink

Eaumyword · 29/03/2022 22:12

I totally did blab about the heist! Grin
Waiting for them to drag me away. I am open to bribery with all your tiaras or I shall sing like a canary...
