I think Princess Christina is wearing another tiara that belonged to Princess Lilian - the Six Button Tiara which apparently was made for her to wear, around the time of her marriage to Prince Bertil. Its provenance goes right back to the first Bernadotte King.

That’s obviously Victoria though Grin

I like Silvia in the cobalt blue, she looks very elegant. Some gorgeous jewels out tonight! CPV is wearing the amethyst necklace and earrings

Wowee, could I have this one if it's not taken? So unusual and striking!
Maireas · 06/04/2022 20:45

@susiebluebell - Six Button tiara ✔️
'tis yours

Good choice susiebluebell - that's lovely and perfect for wearing to the shops!

CliffsofMohair · 06/04/2022 21:15

@KillingMeDeftly

And no doubt Kate is making notes on Sofia's gown and ordering it for the next state visit by the Irish President!
😂

She’d be lucky. He’s great craic. We love our President.

A little part of me really wanted to nab it. I think I’m developing a bit of a problem!
Nnique · 06/04/2022 21:23

Beautiful acquisition @susiebluebell! It really is a beautiful tiara.

frugalkitty · 06/04/2022 21:37

Max is out in Amsterdam this evening looking fabulous in a red trouser suit. No tiara but she's looking as glam as ever

MotherofPearl · 06/04/2022 22:22

Max looks very glam there. Love the red lipstick!

Eaumyword · 06/04/2022 22:28

Ooh I'd like those amethyst earrings and necklace - gorgeous!
Max looks lovely in red.

AdaColeman · 06/04/2022 22:41

Max looks fabulous in her scarlet trouser outfit, wonderful colour and fabric. They are at a concert as part of the visit of India’s 🇮🇳 President.

Maireas · 06/04/2022 22:43

That's a great look on Max - love the colour, neckline and earrings.

Oh yes that’s fantastic.

paradyning · 06/04/2022 23:07

Oh my days - Max looks amazing!

CPV wore Lilian's tiara at M's wedding just after her death and it was widely seen as a tribute. I think it's a tricky design to wear with the open bit between both parts.

paradyning · 06/04/2022 23:07

Isn't Sofia's dress a Nobel repeat?

hoteltango · 06/04/2022 23:15

This appeared on my Facebook timeline as a “suggestion”, posted by The Court Jeweller :
--------------
On April 4, 1911, a remarkable collection of British tiaras went on display at Cartier in London.

In 1910, Prince Francis of Teck, brother of Queen Mary, suddenly died. His family set up the Prince Francis of Teck Memorial Fund to raise money for the Middlesex Hospital in his honor.

To benefit the memorial fund, Prince Francis's brother and sister-in-law, Prince Alexander and Princess Alice, suggested that an exhibition of royal tiaras could be mounted in London. The sales from the tickets would go toward the memorial fund. All of the tiaras and jewels on display had recently been refurbished for wear at the upcoming coronation.

Among the jewels on display was the Teck Ears of Wheat Tiara, which Princess Alice wore for the coronation that June. The diamond ears of wheat originally belonged to her mother-in-law (and Prince Francis's mother), the late Duchess of Teck.

Tiaras were also loaned by the Duchess of Albany, the Duchess of Westminster, the Duchess of Newcastle, the Marchioness of Tweeddale, Lady Gerard, and Lady Newborough. Intriguingly, a set of Belgian royal sapphires was also displayed. One of these pieces was eventually purchased by Queen Elizabeth II.

You can read more about the Teck Ears of Wheat Tiara at The Court Jeweller: www.thecourtjeweller.com/2018/10/the-teck-ears-of-wheat-tiara.html

I’d never heard of the Ears of Wheat; it’s quite intriguing that there are several of them and they get arranged in different ways for different occasions.

Love Maxs outfit - wow colour ....this is probably a strange comment but here goes

  • for some reason when I look at Max's face in that picture I think a little of Princess Caroline of Monaco - no idea why - maybe it's the red lipstick- but now I've seen it I can't unsee it ?
MotherofPearl · 06/04/2022 23:30

That's very interesting hotel. Why can't there be another exhibition of tiaras laid on especially for us? I feel we deserve it. Though lord knows they'd need to have tight security indeed if the denizens of RS&B visited. Grin

paradyning · 06/04/2022 23:30

Gosh I've never seen a young picture of Princess Alice. She was beautiful. And dripping in diamonds. I always just remember her as a very old lady

LadyEloise1 · 06/04/2022 23:36

Max looks great in the red. That other dress "washed her out".

I read her memoir several years ago. She was a really remarkable woman in many ways. Also relative to our discussion of the Swedish RF, her niece was King Carl Gustav's mother.
Serenster · 07/04/2022 08:28

That’s a gorgeous jewel red that Maxima is wearing, I love the wise portrait neckline too.

Here is Camilla visiting the Jane Austen museum in the author’s old family home in Chawton yesterday. She also looks good in a gorgeous bright blue tartan suit. I particularly love how delighted she looks to be standing next to Colin Firth’s (wet) shirt from the Pride and Prejudice adaptation Grin

KillingMeDeftly · 07/04/2022 08:48

Not as delighted as she'd be if she was standing next to Colin in said shirt, I bet!
