Can a 45 year old size 14 get away with a jumpsuit?

I have a smartish event coming up at work and really like the look of this jumpsuit.

But I am 45 size 14 with chunky upper arms and 5ft5.

I’m not good with clothes so looking for advise - would something like this work?

10000% yes. If you feel comfortable and your best self in a jumpsuit, go for it! They look great and are often pretty and practical (love a linen jumpsuit with a loose leg and pockets 😂)

Oh everyone looks bloody fabulous in their jumpsuits! I have one from New look sale about three years ago and I always get compiments when I wear it.

I don't like that jumpsuit but of COURSE you can wear one! But that looks like trousers and a top, so you might as well wear trousers and a top and not have to get totally naked for a pee.

Well, I am 75, a size 14, and I have a jumpsuit which I intend to wear on a cruise this summer!

I am 60 so most of my friends are of a similar age. At a party a few weeks ago one of them (about your height but considerably larger than your size 14) wore a jumpsuit with flat pewter brogues and looked amazing. It wouldn't have suited me but on her it looked fantastic.

Don't worry about age when choosing clothes, just choose what suits you and you feel great in.

Sorry of anyone else has said this but I loved Siobahn Sweeney's jumpsuits on the Pottery Throwdown. She's more like a 16.

I really hate that jumpsuit - the design has all the disadvantages of a jumpsuit (wedgies, toilet issues) with none of the advantages (streamlining, edginess). But I definitely think a 45 year old size 14 can look fabulous in a jumpsuit. Just not that one.

That suit will work provided you aren’t pear shaped.

Thank you It's from Boden, got it half price in a sale! Still in the wardrobe as the event it was for was cancelled due to covid.

Not sure what it is about the cut, but it's really flattering, even my DH (who has no interest in clothes) thought it was fab when I tried it on. The detail on the back is nice too.

Mine is from Boden too. They do give good jumpsuit!

I still wear them, at 66. But I do consider bathrooms. Nothing where damp floors are likely.
