Facial Fillers. I am SO happy with the results

I just wanted to come on here and share my experience. I've wanted facial fillers for a long time as ive lost alot of volume in my mid face as I've aged. I'm 44 and had my first botox experience in November last year. I was over the moon with that. For 11s and a little in my forehead. Anyhoo fast forward to yesterday and I've had filler in my cheeks and a little in my nasolabial folds and a tiny bit in the corners of my mouth. I just cannot tell you how happy I am with the results. Its subtle but that's exactly how it should be. I look plumped and refreshed. More importantly I still look like me! It cost £900 for 3ml. Top end place but with years of experience and fantastic reputation.

I have no bruising. No swelling. It wasn't sore at all. I am a tad tender today but nothing remotely worth even taking a paracetamol for. I bruise easily so i am surprised at this.

Anyways anyone who has been thinking of going for this I'd totally recommend it. Do your research first though.

It may be that he's got facial dysmorphia with regards to his own appearance.

he's certainly overdone it.

I lost a lot of weight quickly and stupidly used a Radio Frequency device which melter fat in my cheeks and the remainder of filler I'd had years ago for cheeks and nano-labial lines (filler lasts years with me) so I just looked awful. I had Alliaxin in my cheeks and either side of my chin (well just above) and the cheeks look amazing, such a difference.

Yet nobody knows other than my DH and my assistant manager at work. I just look like me and refreshed. I do think high cheeks are very youthening (if that's even a word) andI have to say I'm still not happy with my jowls, marionette lines that were supposed to be sorted by the Alliaxin either side of my chin. It's improved but I can still see them clearly. I think what I need is the oral commissures doing like OP had and then I'm done. That will lift my marionettes and god-willing eradicate my bloody resting bitch face 😬

Sorry for the ramble but I've found my tribe! It's nice to be able to chat about it.

balancebeam · 12/03/2022 20:32

Yes, nobody knows I've had anything done, apart from one or two trusted friends. My husband thinks I've just had a bit of botox, so it's nice to be able to discuss it without judgement.

I'm considering tear trough fillers next, but I want to research more first. The place I go to use a cannula I think, but it's one of the more expensive fillers, compared to some of the others, which makes me worry that it's complicated in some way. More research needed I think.

NewMe2021 · 12/03/2022 20:39

@DedalusBloom. He honestly looks better in person but I do get it. I can only go from my personal experience and he's been so professional and the results are amazing. Surely his positive reviews override worries of overdoing it like maybe he has done. I think we are always mostly over critical of ourselves compared with others.
@AbsoluteTruths. I was saying this just last night Grin you're either a sagger or a wrinkler lol. I'm a definite sagger not many lines at all but will definitely get jowls like my mammy. I'm so happy it's made such a difference for you. I too don't spend much on anything else 'beauty' wise so I can totally justify the cost too. X
I have very few wrinkles, but am definitely a sagger!

Would like to do something with jowls and eyelids, am currently off work following surgery and think now wouldn’t be a bad time to go for it.
I’ve heard ultherapy is good for sagging.

Am in the south west if anyone knows of anyone?!

NewMe2021 · 12/03/2022 20:45

@balancebeam. I had tear troughs done about 15 years ago. Worst thing ever. Just unnatural puffy looking. I travelled to top of range plastic surgeon down south in Glasgow. I had it reversed. I now know I needed mid face volume not tear troughs. However if you have deep grooves it may be what you need. Again just research practitioner to death.

NewMe2021 · 12/03/2022 20:50

@balancebeam. Typo. Not down south Glasgow lol. Down south south. I've never had anything else done ever until botox in November. My mid face obviously started slipping many years ago lol hence I panicked and got tear troughs done. So glad the cheek fillers have been more positive Smile

If you go to a good practitioner, you don't need to request a specific thing, you just take them the problem and they give you the solution. When I first went to my doctor I wanted filler in the nose to mouth lines. She told me no and put it in my cheeks instead, which was exactly the right result (and cost less, which won my trust!) She starts by asking what bothers you, rather than what treatment you want. People tend to research procedures to try to find the one they need, when you really just need to research a good doctor.

alwaysontheloo · 12/03/2022 21:08

@NewMe2021 yes I had awful eyeballs and have even been for consultations for a bleph but chickened out but having filler in my cheeks I barely notice my eyebags And they have always bothered me.

alwaysontheloo · 12/03/2022 21:08

dammit autocorrect eyebags* not eyeballs!! Hmm

MyBottomDecides · 12/03/2022 21:32

This sounds so hopeful! Thanks for sharing OP. I have a similar problem with hollowing checks causing terrible lip wrinkles, saggy jowls and chin hammock. I'd love to have them sorted but am so scared of ending up in the hands of a bodger. Any recommendations for someone at a similar level of expertise in the Herts/Beds/Cambs area?

milkyaqua · 12/03/2022 21:43
@milkyaqua. Not quite sure of the point with your post?
I thought the point was obvious. It has been discovered that fillers rather than simply vanishing after a certain number of months can migrate. It is something to bear in mind, I would think.

It certainly explains why the wealthiest and most well-connected women in the world end up with pillow face, etc.

NewMe2021 · 12/03/2022 22:00

@milkyaqua. No it wasn't obvious! And quite frankly an ABC news linked article quoting anywhere from 2 to 12 years longevity isn't going to deter me. Your comments aren't welcome. Go trawl the threads looking for negativity. This is a positive post for like minded individuals. I'm clever enough to do my own research thank you very much!

No, no deep grooves or hollows. I might steer clear then, and as my practitioner has never mentioned it as something I might want to consider. I'll ask him on my next visit in a few months.

NewMe2021 · 12/03/2022 22:08

@5128gap totally agree! That's where I went wrong all those years ago. Only one consultant called me out... whom I ignored unfortunately.... but he was right! It was volume in my mid face not my tear troughs that was the issue. This time with current Dr that's what happened... he asked me what was my concerns asked me to point to areas in mirror. No self diagnosis. He's the expert not me.

OP posts:
balancebeam · 12/03/2022 22:11

I don't know much about filler migration, but thought it was a result of over filling, not using the 'best' type of filler for location (e.g. my practitioner doesn't use juvederm, I think, in lips), or not following proper recommendations for care in the days and weeks following the procedure (which can lead to migration ).

I understood the longer term detection of the remnants of filler, to be minute amounts not visible to the naked eye?

NewMe2021 · 12/03/2022 22:14

@balancebeam. I too have thought about tear troughs alot but I think mid face volume loss is predominantly the issue. Even after my cheeks being plumped i can see the tear trough grooves but hey I'm 44... they are fine. My hollow cheeks were much more an issue. Just be aware filling tear troughs often makes eyes appear smaller. Fuc@ with the eyes you look different. That's one thing I don't want. Thats why I'm so happy with the results this time. SO happy. I'm still me! There has to be a balance of perfectionism. Which is probably why people like us strive to get stuff like this done. It's hard eh x

I always thought that many celebs had pillow face from either too much fillers (and I think the subtle look is more recent and practitioners getting better?) and also because many celebs are so skinny they have a lot of volume loss.

It was not 'aimed at' you. I was following on from these comments:

how long will what you have had done last for?
Isn't it the cumulative effect people worry about, though?
I was told 12-18 months.
etc.

But if you're doing your 'own research' you would already have known what these MRIs revealed, and you wouldn't be blowing a cog!

@PandoraP - I can tell which celebs and friends have had fillers.

I luckily haven’t aged much (good genes) but I’m wary of what Botox and fillers can do long term anyway.

PandoraP · 13/03/2022 01:24

@Gonnagetgoing, no you really can’t and your claim obviously cannot be independently verified either. Anyway this isn’t a thread about that. It’s a thread for those of us who have really loved fillers and Botox. I was also really wary. I think most people are and do lots of research before they commit.
Personally I am not interested in negative opinions from people with “good genes” or people who are 25. At least I want to see a photo of you before you comment Grin

Barelyable · 13/03/2022 07:11

@thenightsky
Recommendation for the East Midlands is Dr CP Aesthetics, south Nottinghamshire. She's a GP and absolutely adorable. I've been many times to various places and have found someone to stick with.
I've had fillers and Botox there but she also does Vit B injections and a whole array of other treatments. Worth a Google.

Imabouttoexplode · 13/03/2022 07:27

@thenightsky

I'd love to go for fillers and botox. But I'm 62 so fear its too late and I've missed the boat. Sad
A friend had it done in her 70s and she looked fab. Still looked in her 70s cos you really can't turn back time but she looked glamorous, rested, refreshed and you could only just about tell if you knew.
Tiredandancient50 · 13/03/2022 07:54

Any recommendations in south west? I’ve had a couple of friends have work done by Facebook aestheticians and they both look awful. It’s really put me off. Really puffy looking.
