She does look like Wallis there!

KillingMeDeftly · 24/03/2022 19:58

Ah the dress is Wickstead and it's one she wore to Wimbledon last year. I thought it looked familiar.

gluenotsoup · 24/03/2022 20:12

Ah, that’s nice and simple on her, I love that a lot of thought has gone into trying to showing respect to the counties visited and HM in her choices such as the brooch.

Yes, I agree, it's really thoughtful.

I think the brooch is fugly but it's a royal eel so better suck it up Grin

gluenotsoup · 24/03/2022 20:41

Royal eel jewellery. Now that would be cutting edge..😉

AdaColeman · 24/03/2022 20:52

I thought that Kate’s cream lace Alexandre McQueen dress and Philip q hat were completely appropriate for the engagement today, and very similar to outfits she has worn in the past to Trouping of the Colour ceremonies in London.

Kate was presenting some of the prizes to exceptional students, so it was in keeping that she should be quite formally dressed. That said, I think the outfit would have been lifted by a brightly coloured hat, or a gold hat, or even coloured flowers on that hat, this is especially so since it was a rewear.

Wills looked cool in his tropical number 1 Blues and Royals uniform!

AdaColeman · 24/03/2022 21:07

Just as an aside, Madeleine Albright, the first female Secretary of State in US history, died yesterday. In her memoirs she talks about wearing items in her brooch collection, and how she deliberately chose them to send unspoken subliminal messages, both to political opponents and supporters when meeting them!

KillingMeDeftly · 24/03/2022 21:07

Flag blue, as predicted! Don't think I like this dress. Strange neckline.

Re an eel brooch - the QM did have a salmon brooch

Commissioned by the Salmon and Trout Association, no less.
It's rather charming!

What that latest dress needs is a massive brooch. Possibly aquatic in nature.

@HeyGirlHeyBoy

Here they are Grin
I spy my favourite boots 👢
gluenotsoup · 24/03/2022 21:43

I’m not keen on that one. The colour reminds me of hospitals, and it’s not got any other redeeming features.

DisforDarkChocolate · 24/03/2022 21:47

I love the colour (because it goes extremely well with my red hair) but that neckline is just odd. Something softer would have been better.

It’s a bit handmaid
SnottyLottie · 24/03/2022 22:02

Love the colour but the collar and neckline are weird.

Eaumyword · 24/03/2022 22:06

I like it!

KillingMeDeftly · 24/03/2022 22:07

Kate's earrings are pretty and the blue is a lovely shade, but I just don't like the style of the dress.

I quite like Kate's dress's unusual neckline but am not keen on that colour. It's so insipid.

Stephanie and Thread Mascot Prince Charles have visited a Montessori crèche to meet with Ukrainian refugee mothers and children being given support there. Charles just gets cuter and cuter! Stephanie suits that vibrant yellow.

I love the green dress. It’s obviously beautifully made, fully lined, you can see the lining in one of the previous photos. I like the colour of the blue one but like others not keen on the collar. Think she looks tired, probably not surprising given the number of engagements and outfit changes!

Maireas · 24/03/2022 22:26

Prince Charles! Our thread mascot - still as cute as ever! ( you know the one I mean Wink)
Unless those earrings are genuine gems, I don't like them.

I love Little Prince Charles. He is just adorable and they seem like such a happy and relaxed family.

I don't mind Kate's aquamarine dress for the Bahamas (I even quite like the neckline) although I prefer the green dress that she wore to leave Jamaica.

It can't be easy planning the tour wardrobe. Different colours for different days, different styles, a couple of formal occasions, preferred designers, something casual, something business-like, a bit/lot of literal dressing, hot/humid weather, culturally appropriate, lots of walking and standing but can't be seen in 'comfy clothes', matching accessories and constant makeup refresh and hair styling. Oh, and knowing that every engagement is being photographed and critiqued by the world's media. It's exhausting to write it down so no wonder Kate and William looked shattered today.

(Kate - if you're reading this please, please, please could we get a completely confidential look at the Royal Wardrobe Spreadsheet)

RonaldMcDonald · 25/03/2022 04:42

I’m unsure with her dress according to the flag styling - it sees so obvious and fashion void

I cringe when I see her green for Ireland
Buttons for military occasions
Surely her stylists plus a huge wardrobe spend can do rather better?

hopeishere · 25/03/2022 06:58

I love both the last dresses! I love that light jade colour and the neckline.

Does anyone follow elizabeth holmes on Instagram she really analyses the outfits and is quite critical of some elements - Suzanne earrings are a no-no apparently due to their treatment of women in South America. It's interesting to see an American perspective that on it all!
