There may be no such word.
You get the gist Smile

Love this dress. Perfect for the heat. I wore this style a long time ago, Laura Ashley, Dorothy Perkins used to sell them

frugalkitty · 20/03/2022 22:27

Tracey he's locked in the airing cupboard to comply with social distancing...I'm in bed with covid! Grin

The BBC News website has a nice article about the Belize trip, with lovely photos and a snippet of film with Wills doing some Dad Dancing!

Kate’s dress is seen to advantage, I love the shirring bodice, which looks comfortable and easy to wear, and I like a tiered summer skirt too, (very easy to make).

The fabric is bright and fun and just right for the occasion.

Though I do think Kate missed her chance here to wear a Carmen Miranda style hat! Wink Wink

I’m not a fan of wedges, flat sandals possibly from a local market, would have been so much nicer, and easier to dance in!

RonaldMcDonald · 21/03/2022 02:34

I haven’t enjoyed the outfits so far. I felt this one - the Tory Burch - was a missed local designer opportunity. It was so far from Kate’s normal dress sense that Belize could have seized that opportunity and provided a design win.
The earrings were too much.
The wedges are dire and bring back Meghan grimaces - maybe it is some unknown royal protocol?
I like her softened styling and she is a huge draw over William

GrouchyKiwi · 21/03/2022 08:53

She wore some flat shoes for the beach segment of yesterday's engagements, which looked comfortable.

I love this dress. I want one.

Nnique · 21/03/2022 10:26

Oh I liked the earrings. Not too much for me!

@Maireas I’ve decided I must have an emerald set. Please could I have Anne-Marie’s?

@Nnique - Anne Marie's Emerald parure ✔️
You know how I love emeralds 😍
I may ask you to share...

@Maireas I am up for sharing! It’s rather good to have the choice of yet more beautiful pieces. Mind you I don’t often go ‘out out’ - these days it’s mostly to the farm shop, and I might hopefully one day get myself an allotment! Grin

Maireas · 21/03/2022 10:41

Surely you'll be wearing a tiara on Easter Sunday? The rest of us will.
Also, my personal mission is to wear jewellery and colourful clothes every day!
Throw out the grey 😉

Nnique · 21/03/2022 10:43

Oh yes!!

I agree, I shall wear my best every day. Including tiara!

Nnique · 21/03/2022 10:45

Mind you we all need at least 7 parures each then don’t we!

I think I shall go ahead and stake my claim to the cameo diadem as well. I think it’ll do for a crown.

Maireas · 21/03/2022 11:36

Is that the CPV one?

OP posts:
Nnique · 21/03/2022 12:15

Yes please!

I need to expand my horizons a bit - mostly Scandinavian jewels so far...plus the Russian one.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 21/03/2022 12:21

The more jewels the merrier!

KillingMeDeftly · 21/03/2022 13:59

Apparently my grandmother had an aquamarine parure that got either lost or sold off by an aunt. How annoying!

How interesting. We need to track that down, Deftly!

I'm not keen on the lace dress but aware KM has to be formal on arrival as HMQ's representative.

The Tory Birch dress is lovely and of the style of things I wear on holiday (if not the same price point 😂)

Absolutely hate day 2 shoes, both pairs the wedges are dated (and her feet must have been full of sand/dust. The second pair look like white espadrilles last worn on cheap holidays in the '80's

KillingMeDeftly · 21/03/2022 19:49

Standard skinnies, tshirt and trainers for Kate today as they're visiting a Mayan archaeological site.

Kate looks so much better in this more casual wear.

BeaLola · 21/03/2022 19:53

I'm always surprised they on such hot weather her hair is pretty much always down.

My hair isn't as long or indeed as thick as Kates by a long stretch but as soon as it's warm or I'm away somewhere sunny I have to get it off my neck

Nnique · 21/03/2022 19:57
@Nnique - Swedish Cameo Diadem ✔️
Woohoo more beautiful things for meeee! Thank you Flowers

I said I’ve got mainly Scandinavian jewels so far but of course that’s only if you look at current owners.

My diadem is French, of course. The wave Tiara is Russian. Anne-Marie’s Parure is Greek, I think. Hmmm I’ve forgotten what else I have!

Need to add some pearls I think.

One must also think about colours...

Nnique · 21/03/2022 20:00

Wedges aren’t actually dated as such though. They’re pretty much a constant in summer/on holiday, whether trendy or not. Very much marmite though - liked by some, hated by others!

gluenotsoup · 21/03/2022 20:02

She looks good. What a place to be😊
