Am trying to be more style aware and put together a wardrobe (albeit on the cheapnfrom charity shops!)

I’d say hourglass.

Your shoulders and hips look a similar width and you have a defined waist.

LaurieFairyCake · 05/03/2022 15:21

Yes, hourglass

Sheeeeeysh · 05/03/2022 15:34

Ooh. That's nice. I've been an apple for years!

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 05/03/2022 15:36

That’s interesting. I’d have said apple, I’m a narrower version of you and would (do!) describe myself as an apple

Sheeeeeysh · 05/03/2022 15:39

This is me last year when I definitely self identifed as apple

You were an apple but now you are an hourglass
You look great !

Sidge · 05/03/2022 15:43

Wow what a difference!

@BalladOfBarryAndFreda I think an apple is when your waist/middle is larger than your hips.

Wallabyone · 05/03/2022 15:58

You look fantastic! Cracking up at self-identifying as an apple Grin

5128gap · 05/03/2022 15:59

An apple has a larger waist than hips, so not an apple. An hour glass has a waist at least 10 inches smaller than bust and hips, so not sure if youre that either. Possibly a rectangle with a waist? You have a great shape that looks like it would be easy to dress.

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 05/03/2022 16:00

@Sidge, I think I’ve been brainwashed by the cartoonish illustrated representations of body shapes that make the ratios really exaggerated.

MrsHippopotamus · 05/03/2022 16:01

You look fabulous! What a difference!
I’m leaning towards saying you’re a pear. I’d definitely dress as a pear if I were you, show off that waist!

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 05/03/2022 16:02

Gosh, 10inches smaller. That describes my bust/waist but not my hips/waist.

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 05/03/2022 16:02

OP, that’s a heck of change! Go you Grin

5128gap · 05/03/2022 16:18

If you Google body shape calculator you can put your measurements in and it will tell you.

Sheeeeeysh · 05/03/2022 17:04

I've still got 20lbs to go so I guess I will have to wait and see ultimately.

I'm probably going to have a breast uplift with implants which will change my shape again.

I'm really hoping to get rid of most of my bottom half weight with the gym and a further 20lbs. Plus maybeee a tummy tuck if needed

Definitely hourglass. Pears are smaller on top, so need to balance out a bigger bottom half. Your boobs and hips look very much in proportion to each other, and you’ve got a defined waist in between. I think you look great, btw- well done on losing all that weight!

Oh I’m so sorry, I totally meant to say hourglass!!! No idea why I wrote pear 🤦‍♀️ Definitely hourglass, not pear!! You look fabulous!
RockinHorseShit · 05/03/2022 19:58

Definitely hourglass. You have a brilliant shape for 40s & 50s type styles

FunnyTalks · 05/03/2022 20:02

Agree definitely hourglass. I think you'd be surprised at the difference between your waist and hip measurements now. Hourglasses can have waists that are quite high up and in my experience this means it's not actually such an easy shape to dress.

You look bloody fabulous and i live your style. Can i ask how you managed to change shape, did you follow a food plan thanks x

Pinkbonbon · 05/03/2022 20:14

Apple/rectangle. But with great fashion taste. That first outfit really making you look like an hourglass.

But to officially be an hourglass you have to be 10 inches less at the waste than you are at the hips and shoulders....minimum. Very difficult to achieve if its not your natural body shape.

Usually the stomach is the last place weight comes off too.

I'm a rectangle body shape too and I'm a 35, 29, 35. I'd have to be 25inch at the waist to be an hourglass and I doubt thatll ever happen haha. But with the right clothes I still look hourglass shaped.

You look good op. Rectangle is a good shape to work with as you're already proportionate.
