Seeing as we had a lot of fun with the Advent Calendar...I have a free Apothecary Pulse Point Oil , a bunch of bananas and a free pastry. 😁

Many companies are not even issuing physical cards now . They are becoming redundant - it's all via phone. A great way of storing all your scorecards is STOCARD app.

I really can't be bothered with loading apps onto my phone and then ferreting around with it at the till - I much prefer a loyalty card. Haven't shopped at M&S for ages though and never seem to get usable offers
Agree with this. I'm in my wallet to pay so easy to get another card out. Not so easy to also get phone, unlock it, find app, open, get to page with card..... a bloody faff

I read that M & S are going to app only and there will be no actual Sparks cards so that is the end of them for us as I only use a mobile in an emergency and it does not download apps. I have it on my tablet but not taking that shopping with me.

I tried to use one of my offers for the first time ever and it just didn't work!?
The offer had been added and I was buying the right thing. What have I missed?

I was in the queue to pay on Friday (only one bank of 4 tills on the ground floor of a very large store)
with a queue of about 30 people. Everyone faffed around with their phone for the app for any offers once it was their turn, it was a right pain in the ass and took twice as long to be served.

Picked up free room sprays today- just tried and they are quite nice.

As PP said, non-food freebies were by tills and not in relevant department.

I haven't had any freebies, yet I shop there every lunch! Sad

I have had:

  • 20% off kid's tights (I'm childless)
  • Mother's Day box for £30 (Looks like really poor value)
  • Prize draw
  • 20% off make-up

Honestly, I only keep it for the comedy factor these days.

Agree + my nearest M&S about 12 miles away had such awful reception that you cannot access phone ! We tend to load any offers and then screenshot to photos

I find the app easier than a card, but then I don’t take my purse out with me anymore as I just take my phone and use Apple pay.

I got the cooking masterclass comp too which I won't be entering. I hate cooking with a passion - a years supply of family ready meals would have been worth winning Grin

@schroeder is it your card or online Sparks account that's not working? You're not missing out on much at the moment - only the amusement factor!! Grin

Ahh, good old M&S Sparks.....

I did get a free bag of bakery cookies last week, which DH happily scoffed. And the coffee offer (I don't think I have ever had a M&S coffee, so I'll need to get cracking if I want to qualify for the free one).

It gives me the rage that I have to "select/add" the offers each time, particularly with food. Just chuck 'em all on, for goodness sake, then I'll benefit at the till should I happen to buy the food item in question. I mean.......15% off cheese is not enough to send me rushing to the nearest store on a cheese mission, is it?

If you only have the card you don't have the fun of getting up at 7am to see what wonderful offer you are getting today on this special promotion. We both have a card and I have the app on my tablet so only me gets the chance to do this, my hubby misses out.

Same here! I’m an oldie who doesn’t have a smart phone, just a basic mobile for emergencies. Discussed this with the lady on the till, and said I was disgusted, that it is discrimination and ageism by the back door (as many in my age group don’t use smart phones). Another older lady behind me was in agreement, so it seems we shall all be excluded from the Sparks offers (and our chosen charities will also suffer). Not happy!
