Cotton knickers with wide gussets in multipacks

Not a troll, honest. Just a peri-menopausal woman who uses sanitary pads and pantyliners, and can no longer find comfy inexpensive cotton knickers with wide gussets. Used to buy M and S or Sainsbury's multipacks; now find their gussets are shrinking. Hard to make out gusset size on websites. Any reccos?

I also need to know, so following. M and S midi briefs used to be perfect but like you say they are massively shrinking now. I have tried so many brands and wasted so much money, I find it very uncomfortable putting a pad on a tiny gusset as nothing sits right!

Try wirapa brand on Amazon - they are cotton, very comfy and decent quality

AnxiousHeffalump · 23/02/2022 14:50

I don’t know what size you are, but Yours Clothing do knickers which I find have a wide gusset.

AcornShed · 23/02/2022 14:54

M&S was always my go to! Other Asda seem to be ok and as user above said also, Yours.

JanisMoplin · 23/02/2022 14:55

I am a size 10-12.

Why have M&S shrunk the gussets, they're awful!

Next cotton high legs with the lace tops are ok, but I bought a pack of four last week and two have a hole after bing in the wash at the seam at top. Not cheap either.

Following.

I wear men's briefs. No gusset problems there Grin

Longdistance · 23/02/2022 15:10

I use full briefs from Sainsbury’s. Not very sexy, but I thought they were quite wide gusseted. But you’ve already said you tried Sainsbury’s.

Marcipex · 23/02/2022 15:15

M&S have certainly shrunk the gusset jn their bikini briefs range. They are also edged with a harsh hard trim.
I hope sloggi are still good because I am going back to them.

gluenotsoup · 23/02/2022 15:21

Sainsbury’s. I know you said you’ve tried but they vary in gusset-girth according to style …

forrestgreen · 23/02/2022 15:26

My best ones are by sloggi

ClumpingBambooIsALie · 23/02/2022 15:27

Men's briefs always have lovely soft fabric enclosing all the nasty razor-sharp elastic.

HelloKeith · 23/02/2022 15:29

I've had three multi packs from Sainsburys - one pack fell apart immediately, one has a wide gusset but is starting to fray, and one has a ridiculously thin gusset which I didn't even know was a thing but now you've named it is exactly why no pad sticks.

FictionalCharacter · 23/02/2022 15:58

Sloggi every time.

JanisMoplin · 23/02/2022 16:00

I am not ready to try men's briefs yet- though I have been buying mens shirts!- but will have a look at Wirapa, Sloggi and the full briefs from Sainsburys ( must have tried some other style).

Sainsbury’s or Asda full briefs

CeeceeBloomingdale · 23/02/2022 16:05

Debenhams

Madickenxx · 23/02/2022 16:06

Next do good ones - they are not pretty to look at but they last longer than the M&S ones and gusset size is good. I use both the midi and the full briefs and pads sit well in either type.

You do need a fairly big fanny.

I like the Primark cotton ones which have high sides - not like boy shorts (I hate the seem in the middle of the bum part) but just low-rise, high-sides knickers. The gussets are large and the knickers wash extremely well. They are my favourite now. They don't come in multipacks but they are £1.50 / £2 a pair.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 23/02/2022 16:22

Primark

Noodlekugel · 23/02/2022 16:27

@ClumpingBambooIsALie I too hate the thin elastic - which mens ones are you buying please?

Yes the gusset seems narrower especially on those Rosie silk ones - why?
takeyourcanvasbag · 23/02/2022 16:32

John Lewis full briefs. Used to be faithful to M&S but they are awful quality now and always go holey around the waist band.

JanisMoplin · 23/02/2022 16:48

John Lewis look good. Would not have thought of them.
