Too much for a wedding guest ?

Here

What do you think ? Is it too much ?

I like it but I think it might be too much. I have a similar dress in a more muted colour. I wore it to work events/balls rather than a wedding.

However if you love it, just get it and wear it to the wedding. Life is too short to opt for something you love less just to conform.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 12/02/2022 22:58

It's lovely.
Why do you think it might be too much?

sadpapercourtesan · 12/02/2022 22:58

It's beautiful. What sort of wedding is it? Do you know what the colours are/what the bridemaids will be wearing?

NoneOfYour32Potatoes · 12/02/2022 22:59

I think it’s lovely and not too much.

Iamthewombat · 12/02/2022 23:00

No. It’s lovely and very wedding-appropriate.

LovelyYellowLabrador · 12/02/2022 23:00

Hotel wedding
Not sure I’m the colours of the wedding
Could ask I suppose

Although invites were wine coloured ? Thu guess it doesn’t mean that will be the colour scheme

I suppose I thought the beads and sparkles might be too much

I don't think it's too much. It's quite Conservative!

Imsittinginthekitchensink · 12/02/2022 23:05

I have a similarly beaded jacket, which is beautiful but every time I wear it, I lose a couple of bits off it. They probably aren't on terribly securely, but it is driving me mad having gaps here and there. If that happened with the dress, it would be unwearable more than a couple of times unless you were able to replace them.

sadpapercourtesan · 12/02/2022 23:06

For a smart hotel wedding where the theme colour isn't dusky pink, I think it's perfect. Nothing wrong with a bit of sparkle Grin

FancySomeChips · 12/02/2022 23:07

So pretty, get it!

Honeyroar · 12/02/2022 23:09

It’s perfect for a wedding

Haus1234 · 12/02/2022 23:29

Definitely not too much! Agree that enough beads will fall off that you’ll notice within 3 wears though.

Neolara · 12/02/2022 23:31

I think its lovely but might be wandering into bridesmaid dress territory.

Motheranddaughtertotwo · 12/02/2022 23:35

I think it’s gorgeous and perfect for a hotel wedding.

Cam2020 · 12/02/2022 23:35

It's lovely and perfectly suitable IMO.

Rainbowqueeen · 12/02/2022 23:38

For a hotel wedding it’s fine.

Village hall not so much.

Thewindwhispers · 12/02/2022 23:38

It’s perfect. If you want to tone it down just add a plain white pashmina.

fleurpots · 12/02/2022 23:44

It's lovely but I agree with a pp that it's quite muted, so no idea why it would be too much. I clicked expecting voluminous frills in a blinding colour!

LovelyYellowLabrador · 13/02/2022 00:30

I guess because I’m thinking bridesmaidy

OP posts:
LovelyYellowLabrador · 13/02/2022 00:31

I’ll ask the bride

OP posts:
LovelyYellowLabrador · 13/02/2022 00:31

Thanks for your thoughts tho

It’s lovely - that’s something I would go for

Pinkpiglet · 13/02/2022 07:43

It’s a lovely dress and perfect for a wedding. I hope you enjoy wearing it!

bouncydog · 13/02/2022 08:03

I think it’s lovely. Adrianna Papell dresses are usually well made imho. Check for loose beads before you wear it and catch them down. You could wear with a pashmina for the ceremony if you found it looked a bit OTT compared to everyone else but I’d go for it.
