C’mon I couldn’t leave it like that. I was starting to very much enjoy the derailment….

My goodness - that’s gorgeous!! But I loved the original dress too and most of the others you’ve posted too so what do I know 😂 😂 😂

Kenworthington · 12/02/2022 22:26

@NoneOfYour32Potatoes granted I ‘did’ say that… however as a sideline/ loose and one shouldered is ok- kind of softer you know. Otherwise I look a bit manly

That's glorious. And will show off your tats beautifully.

Hi Colin! ❤

Wagsandclaws · 12/02/2022 22:29

I love that this is still going! Just popped back to say hello and that you are a total style icon OP 💕

Wagsandclaws · 12/02/2022 22:29

Oh and Colin the tart is rather lovely too 🐈‍⬛

And I want to buy this too! For what it’s worth, my mum wore a cream maxi dress to my sisters wedding and 18 years on we still look back at the photos and smile - she looked totally unconventional but bloody awesome! But to be fair, she did also have a butterfly with the bride and grooms initials shaved into the back of her head so I can only imagine if she’d posted asking for opinions on here 😂

NotAnotherUserNumber · 12/02/2022 22:37

What about something like this? it’s another from the OUTNET which has lots of great options.

Ugh I was trying to post a diplomatic and polite response (obviously trying to be polite was painful as I took so long that the thread closed!)

I find it strange that someone who was banging on about how people are allowed to have their own opinions then changes my post to suit them. So they’re allowed an opinion but I’m not?

Anyway as you were. Apologies for derailing the new thread Grin

Pangolin44 · 12/02/2022 22:39

Hi! Sorry for the de-rail on your last thread. I've thrown myself out of my poker game and lost all my chips because this thread is much more edifying.

I do like the last dress @Kenworthington. I'm going to be a little bit bossy now because I see you are drawn to very feminine dresses, but your hair, sleeve and general demeanour would say that you're more suited to a simpler and more structural style.

Nowt wrong with looking 'manly'. I look very 'manly'. I like looking angular. It's ok to be bold. It's ok to not be feminine.

That is beautiful but do you love it MORE than the Needle & Thread dress?

Pucarbuile · 12/02/2022 22:49

Both of those free people dresses are fantastic.

Pucarbuile · 12/02/2022 22:52

Or this one...colour's like the Oscar the grouch one you mentioned loving

Love that shade of green.

SweetMeadow · 12/02/2022 23:29

I’ve just read all your posts OP to catch up. You sound amazing!

I strongly feel that you have a very good natural sense of style and clear vision for what you want and what you know will look good so please don’t deviate!

Having seen you in the photo (sorry that size didn’t quite fit) - I LOVE the look of that dress on you! The contrast with your tattoos especially. There’s something so cool about the floatyness(?) of that dress against the dark ink and patterns of your tattoos and your short hair. I’m only saying this because I think your initial idea was spot on, but please go for the cream or floral original dress in the next size. And please report back!

What a lovely family you have too by the sounds of it :)

milkyaqua · 13/02/2022 00:13

But there is a complete mismatch of this "sense of style" and the OP's actual style and shape. Her favourite is a floaty frou-frou frock worn by an extremely tall and willowy model; blind freddy could tell in advance this will not suit a middleaged woman with sleeved arms and a keg shape.

Squarepegs01 · 13/02/2022 01:14

@milkyaqua. WTF, I suppose you feel great now you've insulted someone? 👎

MooseBeTimeForSnow · 13/02/2022 01:26

Can anyone please kindly link back to the first thread? I was reading it but didn’t bookmark and it’s dropped off the active list.

I’m loving all the dresses, even if I’m only 5’3” and would need to chop a fair whack off most of the maxis.

But it did suit her, it was just too small. OP has a great figure and has a look that can carry off a dress like that. Does anyone think OP has that cool look of Pink about her?

MusicByTheLake · 13/02/2022 01:56

But you said you wished you hadn’t posted. And now you’ve posted again. 🤦🏻‍♀️ 😂

milkyaqua · 13/02/2022 03:37

But it did suit her

The look on the OP's face in the photo wearing the dress does not say, This suits me!

It was written at the entry to the Oracle at Delphi, "Know thyself."

Obviously, they weren't thinking of Style and Beauty, but usually, by middle-age, a woman knows what basic shapes suit her figure and which ones don't. This dress - in any size - was not designed for any woman not built like a pencil.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/02/2022 08:36

The patterned free people one is fabulous, but I think it would all look a bit too busy with the tattoos. The cream one is another one that's too bridal for my liking.

That orange thing is monstrous imvho.

It's not at all what you want, but I think something like this would look amazing on you, maybe in a stronger colour.

Footnote · 13/02/2022 08:51

The dress looks great. This thread must have brought n&t so much extra traffic, surely they could knock you up one that fits (if the next size up doesn’t).

catwithflowers · 13/02/2022 09:16

Remus I love that dress (for myself, selfishly) but it's a bit pricey. 😊
