Need help with a bag to go with outfit for son's wedding.....

Trying again after massive fail with first post!

I am wearing an emerald green jumpsuit (!!) and nude (sort of pinky taupe really) boots to my son's wedding in two weeks. I need accessories! Starting with a bag. I like the one below but I don't think it's quite the right colour? Does that matter, am I overthinking? I don't want something too small, or too big. I don't really like too small bags (eg a clutch), they feel too twee for me, and you can't fit anything in them. And obviously don't want to look like I am going out shopping! Happy to spend £100-150 if needed. Suggestions gratefully recd!

In real life I think the boots actually look somewhere in between the two pics in colour. They've a definite warm undertone (which i don't think the bag has) but not quite as pink as the second pic.

Do you want the bag to be the same colour as the boots @Wedding1234
or would you be happy to go for a different colour?

Lampshading · 02/02/2022 19:39

I'd also go for a different colour bag, love the jumpsuit- the boots personally wouldn't be my choice to pair with it, but for the bag would go for something special (that could still be used again). I think you could even go for a print as there isn't one on the clothes, will post some on next post:

I like this one- i think it's closer to the shade of your boots, if you did want to match. Although I probably wouldn't match. I think leopard print would look good.

Wedding1234 · 02/02/2022 19:41

@BellatrixOnABadDay Thank you for replying :) No I'd be happy with a different colour if that goes with the outfit - I'm also going to need something to go over the top in case it's cold (but thought I wouldn't put too many things in one thread, so might post about that one later :-) ) so not sure if having too many colours would work, but maybe that could then match bag or shoes, so might open up the options?....

Like the jumpsiit!

But don’t think that bag will go, not the boots.

BellatrixOnABadDay · 02/02/2022 19:43

Does it have to be the boots? I love the jumpsuit- I just wonder if the boots are dressy enough for a wedding?

Yes you are right, very good colour match, that was fast! I quite like it too although it's maybe a bit small, but it's a definite maybe :-)...

Not a fan of leopard print unfortunately....

Lovely jumpsuit. I'd go for strappy heals in silver or gold with a matching bag

BellatrixOnABadDay · 02/02/2022 19:48

I do think silver heels would look stunning with that jumpsuit...

Loopytiles · 02/02/2022 19:48

Pinterest can be good for fashion combos, eg search green jumpsuit, various outfits might pop up with ideas.

I did also get these shoes (see below) and I prefer them looks wise, but they are very uncomfortable! The boots are great in that they give a bit of height but are super comfortable. I'm having to get the jumpsuit taken up as I am short but will be wearing the legs as long as poss to give me height (if that makes sense) so you should only see the toe of the boot....

I also have chronic illness so get fatigued and can't face wearing uncomfortable shoes all day....plus I have swelling on my ankles, not v attractive, so won't be showing off my ankles.

What time of day is the wedding? The bag is quite... po-faced (OK frumpy) when the jumpsuit is so brilliantly joyous and jewel like and generally fab.

friskybivalves · 02/02/2022 19:55

Can't you nominate a friend to cart around your less essential junk and get yourself a roomier clutch that we can have fun sourcing for you?

BellatrixOnABadDay · 02/02/2022 19:55

You definitely need to be comfortable @Wedding1234... dammit shoes are hard!

That jumpsuit is really classy, and glam without being over the top in any way, it really is perfect. I'm just sure we could find you a really lovely pair of shoes that would be comfy but still stunning...

Well my DH is usually happy to cart stuff around - I do tend to go for bigger bags generally though - I am not massively elegant or sophisticated, and small bags and I always feel a bit odd with really small bags....Please suggest things though, I am definitely open to suggestions...that's how I ended up with the jumpsuit in the first place, it's not a normal choice for me!!!

I know, I summed and ached over the other shoes for ages, they are prettier, but I don't think I'll manage it, I also struggled to walk in them! I am very out of practice as I don't really go out any more with being unwell and covid....I wear flat boots or trainers all the time.

Life is too short for uncomfortable feet, but you definitely don’t need a dull bag. I’d go for something glitzy in a bright, contrasting jewel colour and a complimentary statement necklace or massive earrings. The jumpsuit is fab but simple so it can take some bold accessories

ponkydonkey · 02/02/2022 20:07

I'd either go for an emerald green bag
Or a blush pink
