early 50's what are you wearing?

I am a M&S leggings fan, with Seasalt tunic and long line cardigan with any type of boots person at the moment.

Last night for clubbing (yes! Tickets were a 50th birthday present. Was awesome): Boden Joanna jeans, slogan tee, gold Nike Cortez, black biker jacket and my new, Xmas present - silver Apachy Cross over bag with rainbow strap (DH got it very right this year!).

Today- rolled up, straight leg jeans, navy Breton Sainsbury's (so thick and cosy), tan Chelsea boots, printed scarf and Seasalt Janelle coat in Iceberg (we have a storm!).

My confusion was the inclusion of age? What's the relevance? Shouldn't it just be 'what's everyone wearing? Why does anyone's age matter?

Faux 'confusion' though, in order to make a point. You may wear the same at 50 as you did when you were 18 or 25, but you can't be unaware that an awful lot of people (probably the majority) don't. Yes, people should wear what they are comfortable wearing. But a lot of people aren't comfortable wearing what they wore when they were 25 years younger.

I would have been: cropped halter; no bra; skin-tight, low-slung 90s, boot-cut trousers: sky-high heels; bumbag.

Love Mint Velvet tops, not cheap but they last and I certainly get my monies worth out of them . I loveow rise jeans with a big buckle belt . If the are skinny jeans I wear boots or if boot cut jeanssome low cut trainers . I'm definitely into comfort but want to look nice and where I live ( not UK) older women are very stylish, so I definitely make more effort even to the supermarket

54 and size 12 ish. Today - been out for lunch - coated black skinny jeans, loose khaki and black animal print shirt, black ankle boots, silver hoop earrings and red lipstick, with a faux leather and fur flying jacket. Hope I looked presentable but not as confident nowadays and always far more 'thrown together at the last minute' due to time constraints that never seem to get any easier somehow

My go to office wear: Cotton black tights, jersey black skirt just above the knee, flat shoes and classic black cardigan with white blouse under. Comfy, warm and in my opinion smart.

My winter wardrobe is so uninspired as my house is always freezing and I’m pretty sure I have Reynauds syndrome - I’m just so desperate to be warm that I’m always in jeans, Heattech turtleneck and jumper. My one concession to fashion in the winter would be a colourful scarf but again, it’s more to keep my neck warm. 🥶

Thermal walking leggings; Icebreaker merino long sleeve t-shirt; bamboo hoody (all dark grey). Bridgedale merino socks; ASICS trail runners , and when I was out earlier, a Wild Moose khaki dry robe.

It’s the kind of stuff I wear every day. I walk a lot.

I'm early 50s & 5ft 9" size 12
Today I wore whistles black joggers with whistles bottle green sweatshirt with black velvet polka dots, black socks & vest. Black Tracey Neuls lace up boots. When I went out to get groceries I wore a kakhi The Kooples Parka with black velvet trim on cuffs & black fur on the hood.
A comfy but casual day

For work I might typically wear whistles Ponte navy barrel leg trousers with sparkle fine knit navy jumper, black flat laced ankle boots (have a couple of pairs - Tracey Neuls or whistles Asha)

Black tapered trousers with turn up from ME+EM with silk Sezane shirt & jersey fitter whistles blazer - black laced boots

Grey drawstring wool Reiss trousers with a cashmere jumper & burgundy suede chelsea boots

Today was a short, floaty dress from M&S, with a velvet jacket (also M&S) and Seasalt boots.

Some Part 2 light blue jeans which were a Stitch Fix find, a Samsoe and Samsoe light blue jumper. A long Jigsaw navy coat. My trusty vejas. (I must branch out on the footwear, but I did only do a school run and dog walk today).

Hush jersey swing dress in a muted red with faux leather leggings and biker boots. Lots of skinny strings of blue beads.

I'm mostly in uniform for work but day off today so I wore slim dark jeans, rust coloured Next shirt, taupe heeled ankle boots and a mink coloured long faux suede wrap coat. Also wear midi dresses plain ribbed jersey usually with tights and ankle boots or mid heel shoes with biker jacket I have faux suede ones and a faux leather one. Faux leather leggings with chunky jumpers, faux fur gilet sometimes ribbed jersey tube skirts with ankle boots, tights etc
