I am a M&S leggings fan, with Seasalt tunic and long line cardigan with any type of boots person at the moment.

I'm 51. Size 16.

Today I'm wearing Monsoon jeans and a white company jumper with black clumpy Chelsea boots

Out for dinner last night wore black Whistles trousers and a jigsaw silk shirt.

I like whistles, some Boden, Hobbs and jigsaw.

DustySpringboard · 29/01/2022 18:51

Yesterday whistles barrel leg jeans, M&S cashmere jumper and MV clumpy ankle boots. For a casual 'early doors' drinks & dinner swapped the jumper for a Hush star print shirt.

Today, Uniglo jumper dress, opaques and clumpy boots again.

Tomorrow will be Sweaty Betty leggings, M&S active t shirt, SB hoody and supergas - have a class first thing and it's highly likely I won't bother to change!

Itsnotdeep · 29/01/2022 18:51

(I'm 51 too).

Tulipomania · 29/01/2022 18:58

This, obviously:

Extra-wide, extra-long-sleeved grey heavy wool poloneck from Samsoe. 'Challenging' Plumo drop-crotch trousers. Pale grey Nike x Japanese label Air Force Ones.

Yes, I was on the 'ugly middle class clothing thread' Wink

Handmade long dress made out of old mens' flannel shirts, old bits of lace all sewn neatly on to a bodice mad of a fitted patterned sleeveless vest. Sounds stupid but looks ok or should I say Oooak/Prairie. I upcycle all clothes. Also wearing Cardigan and very old Sheepskin boots that belonged to my mother.
I vowed never to buy any clothes made in China ever again when I found out how they are made and the cruelty to chidren and animals in their manufacturing. I buy nothing from China at all, in fact. Don't buy anything from chain stores, ever.

I don't buy anything made in China, either. The practices involved in their manufacturing are revolting. This is another reason I favour Ebay/charity shops - obviously M&S stuff, for instance, is quite often made in China, but at least my money is going to charity/an individual, rather than supporting retailers who are paying peanuts to a Chinese manufacturer.
CaptainPovey · 29/01/2022 19:27

At his exact moment, white shorts, old Christmas t-shirt and a pair of Stan Smiths

Itsnotdeep · 29/01/2022 19:31

How do you find out which shops don't manufacture clothes in China @Kelly7889 ?

ThisTownAintBigEnoughForBoth · 29/01/2022 19:35

Khaki jumpsuit, with the arms and legs rolled up a bit, with a patterned mesh top underneath.

Yesterday was a denim hoody with combats and a glittery top underneath.

halulat · 29/01/2022 19:41

Jeans, jumper, chunky long boots and long green velvet coat today. Mostly jeans and jumpers/ nice top
Going out and weekends. Or occasionally maxi dress. Work tend to be several layers due to all windows and doors being open!!

IheartJKRowling · 29/01/2022 19:51

I'm well into my 50's, size 14 on bottom 16/18 on top and 5'4. Today's outfit was vintage Maharishi camouflage combat trousers with dragon embroidery on the leg (bought 21years ago and I still love them), M&S cream sweatshirt, Mint Velvet cream leather biker jacket and bronze DM's. Tonight's outfit is Autograph cropped leather trousers, vintage grey/silver Escada blouse, silver sparkling trainers and vintage Black Fendi Baguette. I make zero concessions to age or anyone else's opinion and wear what I want.

QueenPeony · 29/01/2022 20:02

M&S dark wash (but a bit faded from wear) straight leg jeans, long hush layering vest, subtly sparkly black jumper from Primark, via ebay. When I went out, black Fly lace-up ankle boots, and long puffer coat.

It is a bit of a winter uniform. I like dresses, prints and being a bit more fashiony and experimental, but in winter I often tend to just throw on jeans and jumper.

Ohyesiam · 29/01/2022 20:10

Grey marl woollen wrap dress, red cashmere cardi, dark grey woolly tights and fly of London heeled ankle boots.

WeepingWinnie · 29/01/2022 20:52

@Itsnotdeep

How do you find out which shops don't manufacture clothes in China *@Kelly7889* ?
I look at the inside labels. They have to declare place of manufacture. So I can't avoid particular shops, but if I see something I like, do I always check where it was made. I've had to leave some lovely things behind as a result - but they will quite often end up on Ebay. I'm not bothered about whether something is 'current season' or not - just about whether I like it, and whether it suits me.
WeepingWinnie · 29/01/2022 20:55

I think this sounds gorgeous, for instance, but I can't wear wrap dresses as I'm so flat chested that they just gape forlornly on me, and red doesn't suit me because I'm blonde and pale, so tend to go for muted blues, lilacs, navy etc. I don't like tights because I am funny about things pressing on my waist and not letting my foof breathe. But I bet @Ohyesiam looks absolutely fabulous.

@Tulipomania

This, obviously:
Nah. This.
early 50's what are you wearing?
Player20868 · 29/01/2022 21:03

This is all reassuring me that I'm not as unfashionable as I thought I was :) I find these types of threads brilliant for finding out about brands that might suit my lifestyle. (Currently wearing navy blue legging type pants made of some kind of wool and a burgundy tunic to hide the bum, with a t-shirt under it for a bit of warmth. Just about to pull on wool lined boots to venture into the shed of doom in the garden...)

Lots of tunics, casual dresses that can be worn with leggings and comfy trousers have somehow appeared in my wardrobe over the last two years though I do still have a couple of shirts, jackets and smart skirts in case I'm ever summoned back into the physical office...

Whattochoosenow · 29/01/2022 21:17

Today slim leg jeans M&S, Ichi tunic top, FatFace cardigan, Troop bag

At home joggers, fleece and a long sleever 90% of the time.

crazyjinglist · 29/01/2022 21:39

Today I'm wearing straight leg jeans from Crew Clothing, brown Fly London Chelsea boots, a long sleeved white t-shirt and a homemade sleeveless sweater in dark grey marl with a white/teal/pale aqua Fairisle yoke.
I'm 50 and feel a bit lost style-wise. I've got one fashion Instagram account I follow (thesilverkat) because it's literally the only one I've found that I consistently like, whose clothes I at least sometimes feel I could wear! She looks quite petite and slimmer than me though...

CrimbleCrumble1 · 29/01/2022 22:01

52
Today a Morris & Co print pleated maxi skirt, black leather converse high tops and a top
From Hush that’s in between a t shirt and a sweatshirt with slight puff sleeves.
Yesterday black Hush Aimee joggers, cream and beige Hush sweatshirt and cream leather converse high tops.

DameDoom · 29/01/2022 22:06

Me and Em navy side stripe slim joggers, navy Sweaty Betty harmonise sweatshirt and Birkenstock slippers. I haven’t left the house today but could answer the door without being mortified by my appearance.
Am quite polished during the working week but am very attached to weekend lounge wear.

Ohyesiam · 29/01/2022 23:14

Ha! I know what you mean about the tights, these are cotton based so some breathing is going on.
Thanks though, I do feel good in this outfit.

TickleMyFanny · 29/01/2022 23:18

Sweaty Betty Gary leggings, dr who cybermen t shirt, adidas Stan smiths, Canada goose hybridge lite hoody. Or a Levi's denim jacket

Ohyesiam · 29/01/2022 23:18

Oh, it didn’t quote…
